This video provides a comprehensive guide to defeating the Subjugator and Thol duo boss in Borderlands 4, breaking down each phase's mechanics: Phase 1 involves breaking the Subjugator's shield while managing floating observers and Thol's poison Nova adds; Phase 2 is a chaotic mosh pit requiring high DPS to survive homing drones and constant attacks; Phase 3 of Subjugator transforms him into a giant god requiring two kills with careful add management, while Phase 3 of Thol becomes simpler with constant movement and dodging his melee attacks. Success requires high damage output, quick reaction times, and avoiding face-tanking abilities.

Watch This BEFORE You Wipe on Subjugator & Thol Again UVHM7Added:
I mean, hey, hey, you're [ __ ] back or what? What a great fight. What's good everyone? It's W here and the subjugator and tall, the two little brothers hiding out in their island are out. And if you ask me, it is fantastic. Now, I know I know this is a single fight. It is a single well duo boss. It ain't enough to fully revive the game, but at least for my cheaper enthusiasm, it seems like that the lifeguard has arrived on the scene. I can see someone coming running towards me in slow motion. A couple more patches like this and the returning gamers or the new players picking up the game for the very first time. We'll be satisfied. Now, what's guaranteed to satisfy you though is your boy. Well, I mean, satisfaction is subjective, but you get where this is going, right?
Tickle those YouTube buttons until they call you senpai. And as a reward, I will send you a handwritten thank you note via carrier snail. Patent pending. that should arrive anywhere between two to 9,472 business days depending on where you live. But this is not what this video is about. The boss is great. I do love it. But god diggity hot dang damn, it can be challenging. So let's break it down and see how you can make this dustardly duo be permanently yo little [ __ ] So here's what we're going to do.
We're going to break down the basics, then go into specific details for each boss to make sure that you are fully aware of what has a high potential of making you go on the live and then we'll talk about my recommendations of what you should be doing depending on your play style. And the basics are simple.
Just in case you watch this to see how it is before you bush your head against it, the duo boss is exactly what you'd expect. First, you're going to go into a city, any city, pick up the quest and then head down to the southeast corner of the fate fields where the little boat will take you to their island. Once you get to them, you will jump into the crater or to the crater or to their zone and then be greeted right away by the subjugator. At least the couple dozen times that I killed him, that's what happened. So, I assume it's not my RNG.
It's the it's the way it goes. But once you crack his shield, he's just going to go tag beam brava. Give each other a high five. And then to is going to be up on the menu. Now, the same thing is going to happen. You crack his armor and then phase two is going to start. The big ads are going to despawn. Small ads are going to keep on spawning, but they only going to have red hell bars until one of them dies. But look, I am not going to sugarcoat it. You need to aim for the subjugator. Tall in phase three is so much easier by both the virtue of mechanic and by the nature of his attacks. And we'll get to that in a minute. But if you want to guarantee easy platinum timer, you got to make sure that you light that fang some [ __ ] off. Look, I'm not an amazing gamer, but I did it first time around on platinum with tall and it just keeps getting better on UVM7 and everything. It is just simpler. So once you pop him or either of them, you will get them to an overly excited state and they're just going to go full bill Cosby mode and say, "Sugar, why don't we take this party elsewhere whether you like it or not?" And off you go. face restarts. But look, this is the gist of the fight or if you will, so the basics, the gist of the basics or the basics of the fight.
Now, let's talk about what each of the bad boys do during each of their phases.
So, in phase one, subjugator will always have shield. And every now and again, I think it's meant to be 25%. Because there is four passive core observers are floating around in the corners. Those are going to give a beam towards him whenever you get his shield too low. And while that happens, lo and behold, our favorite thing is going to appear. He becomes invincible.
In between this and during these, obviously random orders are going to spawn just robots and then but honestly not too much to worry about that. He'll also do some attacks, the usual um Scrooge attacks. The only thing you got to make sure that you pay attention to is which orbit it is and you got to catch it as quick as possible because that's where the seconds are going to start getting away from you. But once that happens, tall comes up. So let's talk about him just before he jumps in in the same places where the observer floater orbs were, he is going to spawn four massive [ __ ] destroyers from Asgards who will just constantly beat on their drums and create a poison Nova.
Well, not drums. They're going to smash their staff into the ground or whatever the [ __ ] it is that they have. If you kill them, they will not respond, but obviously it is going to cost you time.
And if you don't, you're going to have to keep on jumping. This can be annoying, but I recommend at least popping one of them until actually spawns and becomes attackable. This will reduce the frequency, especially if your damage is not absolutely cracked. If it is, you can just wait for to pop him.
Off you go. Bob's your uncle. The thing here is that it is a bit like the novas from blueer where they will do a sizable amount of damage. So, you really got to make sure that you consistently are jumping. As far as I could tell, it didn't really have to pay I didn't really have to pay attention to it. It isn't um desync. Just constantly jumping and then floating down was more than enough. Outside of that, he's going to do the usual idolator assault kind of attacks where the most dangerous one is going to be his jump and then the Kamehahame arm beam that he does. The rest is fine, but once you crack him, that's when he's going to go that yo, I need some help, buddy. And then phase two will start. Now, in phase two is a massive cluster [ __ ] You got to get you got to you got to deal with them quick because the gnarlininess is ramped up to 11. This is a proper mosh pit experience. If you're a fragile little spring child, you're going to make sure to wear your helmet. If you're a hardcore med, it's going to be time to get locked in and dialed. Now, look, my most honest recommendation is to take on one of my builds or any builds of your choosing, the one that are the strong ones. I don't say that, you know, you have to take mine and the strong gun and you're going to go to town as quick as possible. This is by any means a DPS race. The reason for that is because there is a lot of danger that's going to be coming towards you. The subjugator will constantly throw massive vol of homing drones that will just one-shot you if they explode near you, but they are at least one shotable. So, if you pay attention to them, you can kill them. He will also throw out a bunch of landmines randomly, but it's not as much of a problem because you can kind of see them slowly descending where they're going to be. Tall is going to play a little bit nicer until he catches up to you. He usually just jumps and then booty slams. He's basically twerking around the place, but if you end up near him, he is going to rearrange your teeth with a single punch. You got to make sure that you jump away from him because of that constant danger of getting one shot. Your best friend is, and I mean, we've talked about this before in this game, right? Is going to be a [ __ ] ton of DPS. That's about it. Now, I did briefly mention that if that you really want phase three of toll. So, I'm going to operate under the assumption that you'll take my advice and briefly talk about the subjugator and then go into a little more detail on tall so that you're ready for when the time comes and you know what to avoid. In phase three, this is where the bad guy is going to going to have a home turf advantage, but Mama didn't raise no [ __ ] so we ain't going to get shook. Now for the subjugator, we're going to go meet up Bobos in the heavens and he basically becomes a giant god that you got to kill two times. He keeps spawning ascended heads and his little heads and the little heads will do no. So you want to make sure that you either avoid them or you AoE them down. They can be anywhere in the vertical axis as much as they float. But while you're killing the big boy at 50%, he's going to start switching places once, which takes precious time. Then when you get him down in big boy form, he's going to bomb rush you with a full health bar again, but in normal size. He is very aggressive, does a ton of damage, keeps spawning and adds, and he has some sort of elemental healing that he does, so your damage is going to get nerfed a bit. I can't quite note it down what it is because Harlo does all kind of [ __ ] Skittles damage. So, it's very difficult for me to say, but genuinely, you got to make sure that you're absolutely cracked if you want to take him down on a platinum timer. Not only that, but there is a big old hole in the middle. So, if you don't pay attention, you're going to go bye-bye.
So, exactly because of that, you should be going with Down on the visiting every single dirty crypto rockpool celebrity.
Well, they're not there yet, but you know that they've got a room booked, right? Anyway, here's how the rest of the fight is going to go. If you want to tussle with the relaxed muscle, get it cuz he's fat, right?
Well, it's beautifully simple. All you got to do is never stop moving. All he does is one constantly spawns ads. But because Jacobs is [ __ ] insane and it as it is, you ain't gonna even look towards them ever. They just die by the virtue of having a small arena and a lot of ricochets. And two, because having uh two is basically having multiple mele combo abilities that are pretty much the same as soul. Now, I've mentioned this before. He is going to stomp which is going to be a small AoE where his feet is that you can jump any very easily over the kind of the crater that he does. He's going to sweep his arm as a sword which you can just jump over easily and then he's going to slam it that you can just dodge over easily.
He'll do some fire AOE beams out of the ground. Don't stand in them. He'll also do a big old fireball. Slam it into the ground. Just avoid it. It is a lot of abilities, but as long as you're constantly moving clockwise or counterclockwise and just jumping every single time that you can, nothing is going to hit you so hard that you will get laid out.
Now, he does have a matrix ton of health though, so you got to really lay into him, buddy. But once you do, UV HM7 and the chest is Oh, it's yours, baby. Now, let's talk a little bit about gear in case you're wondering what I was using.
So it was my holo group story setup with Jacobs and the Reaper roulette. Nothing fancy. The same gear that you used in UHM6 all along. I tried to pay attention that at least I have a buff of five and I started with a buff of seven. That's it to be a little bit cheeky. I had fully buffed when I started the fight.
The biggest part here for me is really making sure that you don't waste precious seconds here or there. When you're jumping in, you got to start blasting straight away. When they jump down, you don't linger. You jump right after them. And definitely if you can make sure that you track them in the air when they are moving, those are going to be the ones that mechanically is going to be a little bit more demanding, but once you lock it in and once you get familiar with it, it's going to be much easier. But I said this before and I say it again without sugar coating it. This is a demanding fight compared to what we have in the game. But I absolutely love it. And it's not rocket science at least. Right? So, if you've been gaming for a while now, you know that you're not supposed to face tank abilities.
That just applies here as well. When in the past in this game, you really could.
Now, you really cannot. But let me know what build did you pop your UVHM7 Cherry B. And of course, you can still hop on Discord and leave me a voicemail. And make sure to subscribe because obviously a lot more content is on the way. As always, I'll see you in the next one.
Peace.
