We Found A Giant Fish in The Florida Keys Biggest Ship WreckAdded:
White clouds in the sky.

Looking through the light.
Everything feels right.
>> What's up everyone? This is Camera Mafia with Unreal Explorers. Today we're diving Kelargo with Horizon Divers. We are going to go dive the Spiegel Grove.
I've only been here once. Uh it was a fun dive. This is many years ago. It's probably six plus years ago now. Uh so I'm excited to go back here and check it out. Uh my buddy Ethan and I are going to have a blast on this. He's going to do some filming. I'm going to do some filming. We're going to go to I think it's called the captain's room. Uh it's supposedly some interesting stuff in that room. So let's go. Let's go have fun. All right, guys. We're riding on the Pisces today. Um, I don't think I've ever been on this boat. So, like I've only been out here a couple times.
Anyway, let's uh we're about to launch and I think it's like a 25minute boat ride to get out to the boat. Uh, but yeah, let's go, guys.
Nice tits. I mean, fish.
>> What is that? Is that a barracuda?
That's a barracuda.
That poor guy.
>> All right, everyone. We're going to descend down the line. And, you know, there's a bunch of fish that met us here. It was freaking cool. The um the current we it was almost non-existent.
The we it was pretty much Lake Atlantic.
Uh is it was freaking awesome.
So, we're going to make our way to the passenger side of the boat. I'm disturbed upset someone that's in the Navy. Uh so yeah, we're going to go on this side of the boat up towards the uh the bow and there is a cutout up there on I think the hunter level that you go through that cutout and then you go down the stairs and look at that. That's a little grouper. I think we end up running into a bunch of really cool uh larger animals. We we ran into a Goliath grouper. We ran into this shark right here. Can anybody tell me what kind of shark that is? I have no idea. I'm going to guess black tip cuz there's a tip that's black, but maybe someone can correct me. Anyway, so we're making our way down the side of this boat and uh we're going to eventually find the the little opening on the side.
Oh, on this dive, we decided not to leave our oxygen tanks um at the um at the line. We we decided to take it with us right now. I'm pointing at that shark again. It's just kind of circling us, but eventually. So, I'm looking into the holes right now. I'm like, is this it? I was told when you when you find the right hole, there's a port hole that's vertical on the left side after you enter the uh the opening. So, you go through the opening and then you end up hitting the staircase.
After you go down the staircase, you're gonna find another hole. And there's like a place to your right.
And I think right here, we just found the hole.
Maybe not. I'm going to go a little bit further, I think. Yeah, if you if you notice, I looked down and to the left.
That's where that hole is. Uh, and there's no hole right there. So, I was like, well, this is not it. So, we're going to keep going.
Diving side mount on a boat was actually pretty easy on this dive. But anyway, so we've made it through. We actually went down.
We could not find that room and we didn't have a line with us. So we're like, well, we went far enough without a line. But in the moment, so I'm trying to like go sideways right now. Sidem is kind of terrible. However, the conditions made it nice where I didn't have to fight the tanks really hard. But diving in a shipwreck inside mounts a little more difficult. You got to like swim sideways.
It's almost like they're designed for people to walk straight through and and not, you know, swim with tanks on your side.
So, right now I I catch a glimpse of a Goliath. Oh, look at that big old thing.
So, I I circle it. I want my buddy Ethan behind me to see it. I circle it and you look, I don't think he sees it. So, I'm going to ascend in the water a little bit so you can see underneath me and catch a glimpse of this freaking giant fish.
So, right now, if I send it up a little bit and you see his light peeking through and you know, Goliath groupers, at least my experience with them, they've always been super friendly. Um, they don't mind us. They tolerate us at least. However, we're in a confined space and that is not a fish we wanted to trap on purpose.
So, we're kind of careful. He He's like He sees us. He didn't really want to mess with us. He turns and goes into this room. So, we follow him. This is way we needed to go anyway. So, we follow him in this room and then we just happened to uh kind of trap him in here.
So, you going to see in a moment he's going to start swimming towards Ethan and and Ethan's like, "Well, here, let me uh get up out of the way." So this is this is uh me about to go into that room, I think.
Yeah. So I I told Ethan to wait a second. So anyway, so we swim into this room and like I said, we're following this grouper a little bit.
So on this actually on this level um we're we're pretty good. Like there's there's exits all over the place. If you were to have like a silt out event, you'd be able to pop out one of the little holes that they've cut into the ship. On the lower decks, you kind of lose that. I I think on the like the real lower decks, the uh the ship's actually buried in the sand. So even if there was a hole there, you wouldn't be able to get out. But there's me having to swim through one of the doors right there.
Okay. So, this is Ethan's view of the grouper, I think.
And I I know I put this in the video.
There's one of the holes that goes down.
I believe that hole right there goes down into where they put the prisoners at. They had like a jail cell or whatever it was for drunken sailors that misbehaved.
Anyway, oh wait. Yeah. So, this is Ethan's view right now of the grouper. So, this is me ascending out of the way so he could see it. And he sees it now, I think. So, I'm going to kick in there and we're going to go see if this fish wants to be friendly or not.
This is something I can't quite get over though. Like most people that die for shipwrecks, they don't use lines. And I think it's just a cave diver in me. It's like, man, I I I don't know if I agree with it, you know? And I'm sure, you know, I'm no expert in that, but like, man, I I uh I want to use a line. Except for on this level, it's fine because there's exits all over the place. But if there's no exits, like if I couldn't see daylight and stuff, I'd feel pretty uncomfortable diving in the shipwreck without without having uh the line with me.
So there we go. We finally popped in that room, having to swim sideways again. And uh eventually, so this is the rear of the ship, I think, as some would call it the stern. I believe. Um, but yeah. So, we've made it in here.
Now, I'm trying to find this big old Goliath grouper.
There he is. So, I'm just going to just give him a little bit of space. I didn't realize that when we get on the other side of him, we've blocked up off the exit. So, he's There he is. He's swimming towards Ethan. So, Ethan's like, "Let me get out of the way." This fish is nearly the same size as him. And and Ethan's he's not a small dude.
But yeah, the fish doesn't look too panicked. He's just trying to look for his little exit. So, we're trying to give him some space, move to the side.
Eventually, he's going to go through this little doorway on the other side of this room, and he's going to cut back and go back to the hallway that we we came in. We let him go. We don't want to We don't want him to feel uncomfortable.
That's Ethan moving out of the way right there.
So there you go. The fish, he just swims in there and he's gone now.
So we end up going down another hallway and we found Snoopy, the top dog. So I guess that was like the mascot of this ship or something like that. I'm not super sure, but it's one of those touristy spots where everybody needs to find it, right?
So this is my angle. Oh, wait a minute.
This is a uh a little bit of a hole I found. I was like, of course, I got to try to go through it, right? Um I could make it through this. I would have to take off my other tank. And I was like, well, I'm with my buddy Ethan. I don't want to like mess up his dive, so goofing around too much. So, I was like, well, we'll we'll do it another day.
Anyway, so we found the the uh American flag up on the ship. And, you know, we're going to stretch out a little bit.
Let you see the the red, white, and blue.
I think this is at I don't know 60 ft in depth. As you know, the reds and all that kind of goes away and so you don't really see the color. I'm sure there's a way we could add it later on in editing, but yeah, it is what it is. So, this is us exiting back to the line we came down onto. We had a small boat. There was only myself and Ethan and another group of divers. Two divers. Anyway, guys, thanks for watching and I will see everyone else on the next one.
