Hi, this is John Diedrich. I'm a reporter with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. I just attended a hearing in the Milwaukee County Safety Building uh for Dameon Love Cohill. Uh he was convicted and sentenced to 50 years in prison in the murder of Baby Bill back in 2014. A 13-month-old was killed when gunmen opened fire uh on a house in a drug dispute. Uh multiple gunmen opened fire, but only Cohill was convicted. Uh now there are statements from informants uh who say that Cohill was not there and is innocent of the crime. Cohill's attorney, Craig Powell, has been fighting this conviction for a long time. He has prevailed in getting an unusual uh post-conviction evidentiary hearing. Uh that's been uh granted by Judge Havis and uh is going to begin that process is going to begin on July 31st. Uh you can get more information about the case and all the history in the Baby Bill murder, uh go to jsonline.com.
