Highway construction historically covered or altered natural springs, including minor unmapped groundwater seeps along the I40 corridor. So if you ask might the construction of highways, interstates and overbuilding cause flooding? Yes, the construction of highways, interstates and overbuilding significantly reaches re re increases the risk of major flooding across the United States. And we know that that's exactly what happened during Hurricane Helen, which most of the United States don't even think about right now, but that area is still devastated.

So, we've got the federal government doing stuff that we know for a fact could cause what we're seeing in these doomsday maps. Why would we be getting all this warning on these doomsday maps?
