>> Hey guys, welcome back to another video.
We are here in the F14 BU, the B upgrade, and we're going to be doing the classic F-14 mission, the fleet defender.
We have some Russian Sukoy 34s that are going to be uh launching some anti-ship cruise missiles at the fleet here and they're going to have flanker escorts.
We're going to try to intercept and uh knock them out. Here is the fleet right here as we pass them. Now And we're going to probably stay in formation with these guys. We'll just do whatever they do. When they climb, we'll climb. When they shoot, we'll shoot. Um they're definitely going to get off some missiles, the 234s, but the idea is they're carrying a lot. We want to just make sure that they can't launch them all. And uh basically none of them survive. And so we're going to see if we can pull that off today. Those flanker escorts might be a bit of an issue, but we'll sort them out as we go.
With the Phoenix missile, we outrange anything that the Russians can shoot back. We're carrying the AM54 uh C variant, the Charlie variant for the Phoenix missile.
And so we got a pretty good seeker. So, I'm expecting them to have uh quite a devastating effect on the formation of SU34s.
Look at this beautiful formation of F-14s.

All right, so these guys will probably start climbing here eventually. Like I said, we'll just copy whatever they're doing. We'll launch when they launch.
And uh once we get down there, um I don't think there's going to be a lot of SU34s that are going to survive this uh this volley of Phoenix missiles that we're going to shoot. Here we go. Looks like they're climbing. Um so once we get there, I'm probably just going to sort out the flankers and we'll kill some flankers.
Um their escorts and stuff and we'll kill whatever 234s are left, but like I said, I don't think there's going to be many of them. Um, and obviously all of these F-14s as well will help out. Let's go master arm on and we'll select Phoenix missiles. And you can see Jester is already picking up locks for us. Uh, Jester is the uh, radar intercept officer. He's the guy in the back of the F-14 in charge of the radar.
And like I said, the SU34s will probably get some missiles off, but that's not a huge deal. The carrier can defend itself a little bit with uh you know, its own uh SM2s and it's got the Seaw Wiz on there, so it should be able to defend itself against a few missiles. We just don't want them to shoot uh entire volleys and volleys and volleys, which will eventually saturate the defenses of the carrier, and we can possibly get a leaker, which is just one missile getting through. and then one leaker leads to two leads to five. As ships go down, defenses go down. That could make the fleet uh very vulnerable. So, the idea here is to destroy the mother aircraft, the 234s that are going to be launching those things and thin out the numbers and uh make sure that the fleet doesn't have to defend against too many missiles, assuming we can get there in time, right? Cuz if the F-14, if we're if we're late getting there, there's not really no not really much of a point, right, to getting there at all. So, we're going to try to make that intercept happen. We are currently at 6,000 ft here. And these guys are just building up some speed. I would imagine we're going to climb up a little bit further before we fire the Phoenix missiles. Ah, here we go. Look at this.
Okay, we're climbing. So, we'll follow these guys. They'll probably get up there to about 20,000 ft, I would imagine, before we start shooting, just cuz we're ranging about 63 miles out from the target. So, there's not really much point to climbing too much further. Just roll over here. It's going to be beautiful once they start launching those missiles. It's going to look fantastic.
Okay, so we are here at about 20,000 ft now. Looks like a bunch of the F-14s are with me. Uh, range to target is coming back about 57 mi. Uh, remember that the Phoenix missile climbs to 80,000 ft and comes down at like Mach 5. Depends on range though. At this range, it probably won't go up to 80,000 ft. Uh, take note for the F-14 BU upgrade or just bug for B upgrade. Um, you can see on the HUD there are four boxes and so you can see all the targets that Jester has put into uh the radar and they got little numbers beside them, right? You can see 1 2 3 4 and uh that's very very useful. You can see the amount of uh information.
There's four again uh went away momentarily. So you get a lot of situational awareness. Um, we are launching Phoenix missiles here along with everyone else. I got two away and three away and four away. All four of my targets have now been launched on.
We'll hold that lock.
Look at how incredible that looks.
You would hate to be on the receiving end of this.
We got locks from the flankers who are obviously uh moving ahead of their 234s to try to give them some cover, but I don't know what kind of cover you're going to give this many Phoenix missiles flying over. Uh looks like the F-14s down low have launched their next volley. We got one F-14 who's already been shot down. It looks like something happened in there. We already lost one F-14.
I very much wish that ED could fix the flickering smoke. Uh I don't know where that problem came from cuz it didn't used to exist back in the day and now it's way worse.
There's that fragment of that F-14 crashing.
Now 27 miles to target.
And I don't know what that is. Those are F-14s breaking off.
Heat.
Okay. All the locks I was holding have started defending. I'm still holding them, of course, but the maneuvering flankers are going to have a much easier job of dodging Phoenix missiles than the uh 234s, who are probably lower altitude right now. If they're still alive, I would imagine that those Phoenix missiles we launched are getting to those 234s any moment now.
And I expect heavy casualties for them.
Heat.
Heat.
Okay, not many flankers left. There's one right here. He just shot at another F-14. And there's a second one right behind him. So, let me see if I can dive down behind these guys. Being careful.
Don't want to hit the water. Here we go.
Look at this. I got two flankers right in front of me. I don't think they see me.
Let's make quick work of these guys. Fox two on the first guy. And while he defends, we'll get this guy right here.
And we got the first guy. Fox two again.
And he's dropping flares. He does see me now. Too late. He's dead. Look at that.
Oh, look at that. 234s in the distance.
Absolutely got smashed. And we just took down two flankers. I think we wrecked these guys.
Uh, I don't want to That's an F-14. I don't want to speak out of turn here, but I'm pretty sure we absolutely smashed the 234s.
I don't think any of them survived that.
Like I'm not getting any ACM locks in the distance. I might be speaking too soon, but I'm pretty sure what I'm saying is accurate.
I think they just ate like a wall of Phoenix's.
Their missiles are probably on the way to the carrier now, though. Oh, look at this. What's this missile launch up high? Luckily, it wasn't for me, but we have a flanker right here. Got him locked. And we'll give him a Fox three here. Phoenix for this guy. He's going to die for sure.
All right. I think this is it. I think after this guy, that's it. And uh the carrier is going to be on their own. Oh, he flew into the water. Well, there you go. The Phoenix can't kill you if you do it yourself first, I guess. All right, it's all up to the carrier now.
