Did Naga Chaitanya CHEAT on Samantha Ruth Prabhu? Actor seeks court protection over viral claims?Added:
[music] >> Actor Naga Chaitanya has taken legal action after several online posts and videos allegedly spread false claims about his personal life and damaged his reputation.
The actor has now approached the Delhi High Court seeking protection against content that he says misuses his identity and spreads unverified allegations, particularly those related to his divorce from Samantha Ruth Prabhu.
Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu got married in 2017 and announced the separation in 2021. Since then several theories and rumors about the reasons behind the divorce have circulated on social media.
Among the most widely discussed claims were allegations that Naga Chaitanya had cheated on Samantha and was responsible for harming her career.
The actor has strongly objected to these claims has now sought legal intervention.
>> [music] >> According to reports, Naga Chaitanya moved the Delhi High Court over the alleged misuse of his name, image, likeness, and identity on various digital platforms.
>> [music] >> The actor also raised concerns about AI-generated content, unauthorized merchandise, and even objectionable material allegedly being circulated online using his identity without permission.
The matter came up for hearing before Justice Jyoti Singh of the Delhi High Court on May 29th. During the proceedings, Naga Chaitanya's lawyer, Advocate Vaibhav Gaggar, argued that several online posts were falsely portraying the actor as someone who cheated on Samantha Ruth Prabhu and destroyed her career. Addressing the issue, the lawyer told the court, "This is trolling. This is not fair criticism."
The legal team also highlighted concerns about AI-generated videos and other content that allegedly used the actor's likeness without his consent.
According to the lawyer, Naga Chaitanya has spent more than a decade building his career and enjoys a strong fan following, not only in India but also among Telugu-speaking audiences worldwide.
The lawyer argued that the circulation of such content has caused serious damage to the actor's reputation, dignity, privacy, and public image. The court took note of these concerns during the hearing.
Justice Jyoti Singh observed that while celebrities and public figures often face greater public scrutiny than ordinary individuals, there are limits to what is acceptable. During the hearing, the judge remarked that it has its limitations.
Following the arguments, the court issued summons in the matter and indicated that it would pass an interim order to protect Naga Chaitanya's personality rights. The next hearing in the case has been scheduled for September 30. This is not the first time Naga Chaitanya has addressed the public attention surrounding his divorce.
In an earlier appearance on the Raw Talks with VK podcast, the actor spoke about moving on from the past. He said, "We both wanted to choose unique paths in life. It happened for our own reasons and we live with respect for each other.
I don't understand why I need any further explanation. We are both moving forward and living our lives."
Since their separation, both actors have moved ahead in their personal lives.
>> [music] >> Naga Chaitanya married Sobhita Dhulipala in December 2024, while Samantha Ruth Prabhu married filmmaker Raj Nidimoru in December 2025.
As the legal battle moves forward, Naga Chaitanya is now seeking to stop the spread of false claims online and protect his reputation from content that he believes crosses the line from criticism into misinformation.
