A compelling antagonist is essential for effective storytelling in Star Wars films, as demonstrated by the success of movies featuring villains like Vader, Palpatine, and Maul, and the failure of films lacking a clear villain, such as the recent Grogu movie which was disconnected from the Mandalorian universe and failed to provide the necessary conflict that drives narrative engagement.

Star Wars' Missing Villain: Is THIS Why It Failed? #shortsAdded:
Obviously, there's going to be spoilers for the Mandalorian Grogu within this video. Every Star Wars movie has had a great antagonist. Like think Vader, Palpatine, Maul, Kylo Ren, Count Dooku.
Like even the Mandalorian series had Moff Gideon. Like there was always a clear force pushing against our heroes.
And don't tell me that the introduction of those Hut twins could fill that void.
There was clearly no antagonist. And I think your movie can only be as good as the villain in your movie. And in this case, there was none. Another thing that really puzzled me about this film was like how disconnected it was from the Mandalorian universe.
