How DEKU pulled URARAKA

[00:00:00]Today, we are studying the rise of Izuku Midoriya because it's no way bro started from a nerdy fanboy who couldn't even talk to a girl, let alone look at them, to pulling someone like Ochaco Uraraka.

[00:00:13]People think that their [ __ ] came out of nowhere, but what if I told you that it was eight seasons of suppressed warrants finally catching up. So, if we're really going to talk about Izuku Midoriya and Ochaco Uraraka, we have to go back where it all started, back when they first met. Deku just completed a 10-month rigorous training plan so he could become a vessel for One For All. And this is the day of the UA entrance exam, his first real step into becoming a hero. And on the way, bro just trips. He almost loses what little aura he had, but before he can fully embarrass himself, Ochaco saves him with her quirk. And Deku was just shocked, like he had seen the second coming of Jesus.

[00:00:53]And I need you to understand why because this is Deku's first time ever talking to a girl. So, yeah, man, this is all new to him. But you got to start somewhere, right? A little while later, before they start the exams, he sees her again and tries to thank her, but he gets stopped. And of course, it's Iida Tenya, wrong because he's trying to tell him to not interrupt her focus. But damn, my boy cooked real quick, man. The exam starts and it's rough. Deku was flailing behind, he can't even get a single point. Meanwhile, Ochaco already has 28 points and is putting in pain. And then, out of nowhere, they summon a giant robot. Everyone starts fleeing the scene. Deku was too scared to even run, but Ochaco, she got trapped under rubble. Deku sees this and remembers how kind she was to him. Without hesitation, he moves. He unleashes One For All for the very first time and destroys the robot while destroying his body in the process. But now he's falling and there's nowhere to stop himself. Right before he hits the ground, Ochaco saves him. They basically saved each other, but she doesn't stop there. Deku thinks he failed, but behind the scenes, Ochaco goes out of her way to negotiate for him to pass, and that is pretty big. Because now, this isn't just a random interaction anymore. This is personal.

[00:02:05]So, now they're in the same class, and Deku, the shy nerd who has never talked to a girl in his life, is now locked in the same building as the first one who ever showed him grace. Let's see how he handles that.

[00:02:21]Yeah, pretty terrible. But, now he actually has real friends. She even gives new meaning to the name Deku, turning something that used to be an insult into something positive. And from that point forward, they just get closer. So, that's the foundation. She saved him before she knew him. He broke his body for her before he even knew her. She negotiated for his future. She renamed him. And at this point, neither one of them has said a word about feelings. They don't have to. The evidence is already building. But, now we start to see a hint of feelings for each other. When Deku sees her in her hero costume, yeah, he's definitely feeling something, but it's not one-sided. Because when Kaminari tries to ask her out, she immediately dismisses it after seeing Deku. Just that Kaminari. Over time, they keep growing closer, working together, supporting each other, and just really becoming best friends. But, the feelings start to get more crazier now. As Deku's hero journey progresses, he naturally becomes more confident, more of a leader. And now, jealousy starts creeping in. We get to the UA Sports Festival, a very huge arc for their development. But, one key thing, she starts to get jealous. Answer Mei Hatsume, confident, direct, bold. And Ochaco watching Deku and Hatsume talk, that sparks something in her. It's very subtle, but it is there. They still support each other throughout the tournament, though, even teaming up during the cavalry battle. But then, Ochaco faces her biggest hurdle, Katsuki Bakugo. She is scared, but she's ready to fight. Deku comes to help her with his notes, but she shuts it down because she feels like she relies on him too much. She wants to fight on her own. She ends up losing, but during the fight she's thinking about Deku, about how he never gives up. And this is just giving me Naruto and Hinata Chunin Exams flashbacks right now. After the fight, Bakugo confronts Deku asking if he gave her that strategy. And Deku stands on it. He says that it was all her, defending her completely to Bakugo out of all people. Deku goes to check on her and she tells him that she's okay. She reaffirms him, but she wasn't okay. Deku knew she wasn't okay, but she protected him from worrying about her. And that only encouraged him more. Final Exams, Uraraka is paired with Aoyama and somehow Yuyu knows about her feelings for Deku. And now the cat is out the bag. It gets to a point where even Ops start noticing, like Himiko Toga. Toga is very important to this whole story.

[00:04:39]She likes Deku, too. Her feelings get stronger over time to the point where just watching Deku train gets her flustered. But at the same time, those feelings start holding her back. So she makes a decision. She pushes them down because while Deku was out here chasing his dream, she's stuck dealing with her feelings. So she tries to move forward with that mindset. The Class 1-A versus 1-B arc begins. Deku and Uraraka are on teams. So you would think that this would be a very wholesome team-up moment, but One For All had other plans.

[00:05:07]Out of nowhere, black tendrils start spreading out from Deku's arms. Deku is panicking because he doesn't know what is going on. At this point in time, he is progressing so good with One For All.

[00:05:17]This just seemed like a setback. It seemed like it's all over, but Uraraka comes in for the help and tries to calm him down. She ends up coming with the smart plan of using Shinso to stop the havoc. And this quickly stops Deku's episode. Again, another instance where she's saving him. And it's crazy because that's not all. Everything changes after the PLW war. After a hard-fought battle, Deku decides to leave UA. He leaves everyone behind including her, and that hurts because now he's out there saving everyone, but who is saving him? Class 1-A finds him exhausted, broken down, and forces him back. But, the civilians, they don't want him there. And this is where Ochaco steps up. She takes a stand. She goes so hard for him that it brings him to tears, even onto his knees. Ochaco is Deku's hero. But, there's still one more hurdle, the final war. Before it starts, Deku and Ochaco talk. They talk about everything, and they come to an understanding that they are going to win. The final war starts, and normally they had their own separate situations, but Toga has other plans.

[00:06:19]She drags Deku to where she is at with Ochaco. And this is for one reason only.

[00:06:24]She shoots her shot in the middle of a final war, in front of Ochaco. Deku is freaked out. He does some real nerdy [ __ ] right now. No matter how strong he is, he's still just a nerd. They all get into a brief squabble until Ochaco tells Deku that he has to go out to Shigaraki.

[00:06:39]Deku flees the scene, and now they fight their own separate battles. After the war, everything catches up. Toga dies in a fashion where it is heartbreaking. She saves Ochaco, and that hits her hard.

[00:06:49]She tries to hide it, but Deku notices something is wrong. Until one night, she breaks down. Deku immediately pulls up and comforts her. It's a heavy moment.

[00:06:58]They embrace more, and it starts getting more passionate. But then, Class 1-A pulls up and kind of cockblocks. But, everyone is supporting her, and that's pretty much it. You would think that is the end of their development, but it's actually not because we get something more. Eight years later, Deku is now a teacher at UA. Ochaco is a pro hero now, rank number 24. And society is stable again. But, for both of them, something is missing. Ochaco has been having dreams about Toga. It started about a month ago. And Deku, he's living his life as a teacher and now a hero on the side. Keep in mind, it's been about a month since Deku got his brand new armor. Deku links up with Bakugo and Kirishima. They get into their bro talk, and that's where Bakugo comes in. He tells Deku he needs to start seeing himself differently because if he doesn't, he's going to miss what is right in front of him. And honestly, that's real, especially coming from him.

[00:07:47]I'm telling you, Bakugo, his development, arguably one of the best in all of the anime. But this is a contrast to Deku because Bakugo, he doesn't do this. We get a class 1-A celebration in full show to becoming the number two hero. Everybody is grown, and at some point during the celebration, Deku looks over at Ochaco. I know that look anywhere. My boy Naruto had that same look, Deku. But a high-speed chase breaks up the party. Class 1-A assembles the Avengers for some petty street-level business. They make quick work of the brief and start heading home. As Deku part ways with Bakugo, he remembers what he said. So he pulls up on Ochaco and cuts straight to the point. In this moment, it's like everything comes full circle. Even Tokage's presence pushes her forward. They get closer, she gets flustered, but she reciprocates. And they seal it with the most adorable dap up you have ever seen in your life.
