Peake expertly captures the complex physics of tornado lifecycles, turning a dangerous EF4 event into a clear lesson on atmospheric dynamics. This is a rare example of field meteorology that is both visually gripping and intellectually substantial.

LIVE: Strong Tornado Threat In Central NebraskaAdded:
All right. Talk to you later.
>> Okay. All righty.
>> All right.
>> Bye.
>> Bye.
>> Hey guys, we are here in Columbus, Mississippi. Oh my gosh. Not Columbus, Mississippi. We're here in Columbus, Nebraska. Let me reclose.
is going to be last severe warning that cell >> that's pretty chill. Oh yeah, the stabilization is going to be so worth it.
>> Potentially we playing devil's going to be crashing into it after a little bit. It almost be like a waterproof version of that and you just like mount the car >> and then you just like operated it from in here.
>> Yeah, ideally that would be like >> that would be so sick.
>> But also too though the wind though knowing when to take it in I'll probably damage the gimbal out of the gate though.
>> It's definitely going to have time to do it.
>> You don't think so?
>> Not the right one.
>> What did you say to >> All right, guys. I got to listen to the radio. have time to at least get put one or two out, but we got to see if it unzips or not.
All right. All right. So, we're heading down heading down uh Highway 30 uh from Columbus, Nebraska.
That's That's an awesome gimple.
Boy, that's going to be tough to >> That's a challenge. That's a challenge.
Get the greatest shot today.
>> What if I get the greatest behind?
>> We're going to get the greatest shot today.
>> That supercell and it's moved four about four miles in the last 20 minutes. So, that cell has roughly an hour.
>> I think I think it'll probably do it.
I mean, that's all you really need, but it's all you have right now. So, very nice look to the base. Jen, you should probably be getting a view of it soon. It looks like you're not that far behind me.
>> I can see it way off in the distance. I can't see a lot of feature, but it's there.
just uh with with how close in proximity this storm is to the pretty much center of the low is what's getting me to get it because I just just have a feeling about this one here.
>> All right, man. It looks good.
>> Yeah, >> that's sick. I'm probably going to go and give it a glance, maybe um at a slight distance until I see something down. Um and uh try and give things a little bit further southeast a chance to develop without getting too far caught up here.
I do believe it's going uh south of Grand Island over 80. It's getting better on reflectivity, too. That's definitely a storm I would I would go for if if it can happen cuz it's even just that much further east. I'll take it. He's about to say the same thing, Jaden.
>> Yeah. What do you think indeed?
>> Getting a nice area of convers.
>> I don't know which one you're taking down. Where's I'm going down to like St. Liberty or whatever and then to that highway that you can take to Howard City.
>> I think we're taking the South Roads.
Good point.
set back.
>> No, never mind. We are going south towards St. Liberty as well.
>> Oh, man.
>> Cool. Yeah, it's starting to look nice.
I can see more of it now.
>> Yeah. Okay, I'll take it.
>> I guess I can hold it.
>> Oh, wait. I wouldn't set this down.
>> Okay. Here. Pass your direction. Pass me here.
Is this giving you trouble? No, no, no.
>> It definitely looks good and I definitely like it. I just Man, I'm like concerned about that cold front.
>> Yeah, that crashing cold might produce.
It's going to do it once and then it's going to be undercut and it's just uh looking at satellite, I'm not convinced that there's going to be anything else to chase. So, I'm just going to send it over there and see if it does it for me.
And if it doesn't, I'll start running back east just in case.
That's where I'm seeing anything trying to go further east. I don't know if there is anything.
>> Call you need to put your cell regardless.
>> I have no thoughts on Omaha tonight.
Probably get some wind and hail. That's all I know. But tornado threats could be >> according to maps like 5 minutes away from Grand Island as it is. Oh, >> going out here tonight.
>> Right there.
>> Person has a question.
>> Hey Barry, >> Jake will be cool if we get >> Thanks for joining by the way.
>> Get your reaction if you clamp your phone to like the back almost like lift up my >> I definitely like the blip coming out ahead of it though.
>> If you can that rubber band work.
>> Yeah, it actually does work. Perfect.
You got your shot.
>> Boom. Bada bang. Now we get reactions.
Barry's on USA tornado.
>> He's going to get his reaction from this one.
>> They're all cut. So we see like the emotion, you know.
>> I see.
>> Of the tornado.
>> Well, you can definitely see it from here.
>> Oh, I'm not saying that's a great angle, too.
>> That sad face is a great angle.
>> Whoa.
>> Hey, thank you. I'll take that.
>> On the seat.
Oh, okay. Yeah, that's >> Never heard that before, have you?
>> I think I was talking about earlier.
Yes.
>> Yep.
>> Yeah. How about that?
>> Definitely try it again.
>> I'll be ready to blast back there in a hurry, but man, this base is looking good.
>> Are you uh Brandon and Freddy, are you guys still on this 80 South?
Yeah, there's nice overshooting top on the storm too on satellite.
>> Looks like you're uh might be connected to your dry line.
>> Where's Jordan Hall? There he is.
Where'd you go, boys?
Uh, here's Silver City.
>> Might be one of the smoothest gravel roads I've ever been on. This thing's like butter.
>> Yeah, there's some fairly smooth ones here. There's a lot of sand in in some of these roads, too. They can get a little bit hairy once they get wet.
>> Have a hilarious viral uh moment. I think I think I'm gonna put a put on the headphones right before we we taste like tornado >> and then like cut to the music while I'm like filming.
>> I have to con Yeah, I just looked at spotter dots, saw all the green dots. I was like, "Holy Spir uh since you have access to that, are they all flooding cell or are they elsewhere?" Hopefully.
>> Yeah, there everybody in their bomb is heading to that storm right now.
>> I'm practically the only one over here.
um happened.
>> Oh, don't worry. They're coming right behind us in this dirt road.
>> I'm I'm sure that it looks like you should be pretty close to Freddy right now.
Actually, Ben Garrett, he's still over here.
Uh, what car are y'all in? I can't remember what I'm actually car what color it is. I'm at the very back of this cond line here. Great. Is there already traffic?
Oh, Christina and Calie, thank you so much for the donation. Glad you're here again.
>> Rotation on it.
>> We're here uh just past Silver Creek, Nebraska. Silver Creek, Nebraska, heading southwest to the severe warn storm out to our west.
Southwest Jordan, have you dropped dropped south yet?
>> Copy that. Can you see the cell off to your the the main cell that's severe warned? How does that look?
>> I see it over there. I don't see it visually, but I'm not far from it either. I'm kind of hedging.
>> Copy that. I just wanted to know what the overshoot had overshoot or what it looked like from the top on it.
>> Yeah, it's like a vista. I can't I can't see the overshooting top unless I was behind it.
>> Copy. This cell near central uh or Grand Island, it's struggling. It's still there, but it's not it's it's struggling. It's definitely high base at the moment.
>> Yeah, there's something making them struggle over there cuz like I said, there was an initial one southwest central city that Jordan on satellite that I watched like rocket visually and then uh just out of out of the blue it just it shriveled and died.
They're ahead of the dry line. There's really nothing to focus it on. So, there'll be more like a warm air infection. So, they if they do pop, it's probably going to take them a minute to completely start this base.
Copy that guys. Thank you.
>> So a solid is is starting to initiate due west at Hastings. Hastings.
>> Oh crap.
>> Oh, I see it. Yeah. Near Kennesaw.
What's that?
It is. Yeah. one of the the severe warning storm looks really nice and tall.
Um, >> oh, that's what that is.
>> What?
>> I was like, what is that?
>> It's a vibe.
When you have minimal cut away metal in your car, probably got 30 minutes.
>> Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. I think once it finishes that merger, we're in business. You're going to make it down just in time, Jordan.
>> Just in time for the cold front start to wipe it out cuz it's not slowing down.
No, like I said, it's going to be a one and done. It's like cold front will hit it, probably produces, and then they'll find another storm.
>> Keep the cold front's name out your mouth.
It's got a pretty good gun on it right now. It's not doesn't have the rapid motion it had earlier. Had some good but uh good rising motion, a little bit of Scud. It's a little bit stagnant right now, but it's in taking those. I was going to say I probably have to wait for the chargers.
It looks like the dry line's slightly ahead of the cells almost just based off the Blue Hill radar, the KUX1.
>> Yeah, I was going to point that out too, Scott. My I wonder though after this merge if it'll be able to just kind of pull it out a little bit.
>> Yeah.
I I I I a little worried about that that the one that uh Brandon just pointed out uh the one west of Hastings. That might I mean not that it's going to be far away from the other stuff, but that might be the one that takes over. It's ahead of the dry line right now.
>> Oh yeah. Over Jen Shaw or whatever.
>> Jaw. Yeah.
Yeah, like I said, nothing to worry about.
It's like right It's probably like 25 miles away from the uh severe warn cell, so whatever.
>> Oh, yeah. The good thing is we're all north of it, so easy easy to drop down on it.
Oh yeah. Along with the the other billion stormchasers, right?
Yeah.
Heat. Heat.
Heat.
Heat.
Heat.
Heat.
I'll have a visual up and paste.
Looks like the southern one's trying to take over.
Yeah, that's good. I'm giving a little bit more.
Agree.
Where you at, Connor?
north the uh northwest of central city.
>> Okay, I see you now.
Looks like we got the new base developing here on the east side.
Jaden, it looks like it's trying to pull the dry line back in.
I need to be careful about the air conditioning, you know. Don't you know? E Heat. Heat.
Dang, this is a long train. Oh, look.
They even have an engine in the middle.
>> Wow.
>> That's crazy. That's how Dang, this is a very long train.
You usually don't see where they >> put in the middle like that.
>> So, I'm pleased.
>> That's a That means it's a very long trip.
>> Yeah. Yeah. But definitely it's going to be down by Cairo now.
>> Wow.
it's getting to that new convergence has really increased there.
>> Yeah. Connor, how's how's it look visually?
Uh I had Milwaukee turned down, but just heads up the base is widening and CG's are really picking up. Get a nice area of uh convergence on radar.
Copy that. Thanks for the update. Yeah, I didn't know if uh if there's a wall cloud on or anything else or just a flat base.
Yep, RFD is wrapping around pretty good down here in the south side of the >> copy that. Thanks for the update, guys.
Really appreciate it.
>> Warning tornado warning.
>> Just tornado warned it. Nice. All right, we need to lock in. Okay.
Heat. Heat.
That's cool. Look at those trains.
>> Yeah, I say that's hauling cars right there.
Wow.
It's really trying.
>> That looks great.
>> We need to get there.
What's that shaking back there? what that is. Sorry.
Awesome. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. That was driving me nuts.
I'm going to do a funny bit. We're not wear headphones.
All right. Do your thing. I'm locked in.
So, all right. We can see the base of the storm now right in front of us.
Okay, I got a visual of the base now.
Beautiful wall cloud on it. Lowering, I guess, more anything else. And nice inflow bands streaming right in.
Starting to get some rain bands wrapping in the RFD here.
Got to say the RFD is a little bit wet.
It's probably going to get wetter here.
Appreciate you guys for the update.
There it is. There's the base.
Oh yeah.
The sun's in a perfect right up underneath this entire thing here. Um south on the road to Cario. Beautiful info bands. Great lighting, too, man.
>> That's our tornado warn storm.
>> Copy that.
>> Tornado warning.
Tornado warning. Central City is my location.
There's your wall cloud.
They're lowering in the middle of the stream.
Crazy.
All right, Justin.
>> There we go. I was trying to get the I was trying to get the update.
>> He wasn't moving in his arms. I was like, come on. I'm He's so oblivious.
>> Oh, that's funny.
All right, we're going to zoom back out.
We're going to be underneath this thing here shortly. You can see the info bands.
We're over the road.
Watch out, guys. I got to do a fast turn to the airport.
Everyone good?
>> Y.
>> All right.
Storm's right in front of us. We'll get a We'll >> rain is wrapping around the RFD pretty good now.
>> I will get a visual of the wall cloud here in just a second. Right now looks like it could be starting to try to search a little bit here.
We'll bleed into the stream just a little bit. Try to >> What a sick, >> right? No, this up.
22.
Oops.
Those you underneath it. That's a How's the rotation looking?
It's uh still broad, but it is increasing notably.
Start by an old man.
Start somewhere.
Turn somewhere. Come on.
>> The lobster just looks like nothing right now.
like it was the wall cloud confirmed.
>> Oo, there it is.
Yeah, I think Connor's prophecy is coming true. It's going to be a one hit wonder.
getting smacked by that RMD now.
>> Hey there in the UK. Thanks for joining.
>> Okay. Very strong. Very strong.
There you go.
There you go. Sorry.
That was unintentional that time.
>> I'm majoring deeper now.
Heat.
Heat.
All right, getting closer.
It's not imminent yet, guys, but it looks like it might be about to try to be.
Yeah. Big big load of grain wrap around it.
That's right.
We're going to go on a we're going to go on dirt road here just Yeah.
Heat.
Lots of CGs going right through the base. It's beautiful.
Just scroll by now counter lost visual if you want to keep me updated.
It's definitely starting to carve out the base here.
project.
>> Yeah, that's they do balloon launches ahead of the stor uh storm as well.
They're private though. They're not >> not >> they're not a re they're not a >> they might be an organization but they're not government like the weather service like the uh National Severe Storms Laboratory the one with the weather instruments on top >> there's there's three of those >> and it's a cell vehicles the weather stations on them that go get close to tornadoes >> but they're are different they're they are not a government organization cuz NSSL is the OUS University of Oklahoma.
So, do they have one of the best meteorology programs like that at Oklahoma?
>> They do. Yep.
>> In the world.
>> In the world.
>> Yeah.
>> It's like the top tier for 20 to research. Yeah. There's Penn State.
There's Texas A&M. Um, >> uh, forgetting someone.
Penn State, Texas&M.
I'll let you know the other ones later.
I just can't think of the moment.
Penn State's another one though.
>> They're up there.
>> Yeah.
Oh, here's my dirt road. Oh, it's closed. That's fine. I'll just go straight.
All right, we're going to go to dirt road like I talked about.
Look at all those stormchasers up there.
>> It's 100% about to do its first try, guys. really wrapping around.
>> Is it a pretty rain wrapped rig or should I maybe be able to see it from the south if I need to? I I can see a little bit of feature, but I don't know if it's tucked in there.
>> Shouldn't be rain wrapped. It's pretty clear to the north here.
>> Yeah, there's rain bands in there, but you can see through them.
>> Oh, yeah. Huge cut.
Screwed by this road network.
might have a cone coming down.
>> Can you grab my video camera for me?
>> Yeah, camera going up.
>> Thank you, CR. Yep.
Let me know if you see something coming down.
>> It will be surreal. It'll look like a cone or something. It'll it'll it'll you'll you'll know.
>> We'll be able to know.
>> Yeah. If it starts reaching down to the ground, especially under that lowest part where the rain bands are in the middle of that wall cloud, that's where you Yeah. Dang. It's This road sucks a little bit.
It is slightly wet. That's why me. Is the cone still there? Is it dissipated?
I feel like I'm con seeing it on a bad angle.
Whoa, that's a nice uh Are you seeing anything?
No, I just tried asking Rigby. I just got a better angle. I don't see a cone yet. Uh but Briggs Briggsby has a better angle than I do.
>> It uh dissipated for the time being, but it was definitely a full funnel that was trying to be a commuter.
>> Copy that. Thank you.
And the cold front is impacting. No.
>> Oh no.
>> They reported a tornado on that. So there's only 5,000 chasers here. So I wonder what they saw.
>> Coldr tornado. I can promise you that.
>> What I can also promise you is it looked like the cold front just hit it.
Basically, it doesn't look like much at the moment.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure.
Front just hit it. I think it's toast.
Yeah, it it rapidly just lost all of its form visually.
Very bizarre cuz it's almost like it's still on the dry line. It's very very bizarre orientation of the whole thing.
But yeah, visually uh it it looks a lot colder at this moment. Yeah, that's fair.
That cold front just screwed us over.
Maybe we'll see.
Hey, aren't you banned from drinking water on a chase?
>> Oh, yeah. If I f though, I thought it was. Yeah, you're still banned from drinking any kind of liquid during the [ __ ] >> I remember.
>> Yeah, cuz there ain't no stopping.
>> That was funny.
>> Yeah, I was going to say, wait a minute.
What's the word they uh they use for uh um politicians when they're banned from Oh, you're sanctioned from drinking water. Yeah, you've been sanctioned.
>> Yeah. Wow.
>> Yeah. Is that the word? Is that another word for for man?
>> I think that works.
>> Yes.
>> Yeah, you're sanctioned.
>> Barry, could you imagine a podcast during a tornado chase?
>> That would actually be rude for 45.
>> You'd be rooting for us.
>> Full mic setup. Like >> I think you could definitely I know, right? It would be interesting to do that for you guys' company and like do like famous people.
>> Oh, that would be interesting.
>> And like just have all the cameras on them and the reactions in the store.
>> I've talked about that with people before about doing bringing out famous people. I don't know how many people would actually want to do it.
>> It would have to be a a group of famous people.
>> I'm going to I'm going to have to start sending some email again.
>> Yeah. Uh I'm east. I got a nice wide view. It lost a lot of what I had.
>> Yeah, there's still this like oluded mezo with rain currents wrapping around it. Uh it occasionally has scutty fingers, but nothing uh extremely rap.
>> We have to get nicer hotels though.
>> You would right.
>> It does look like it's trying to wrap around again though here. Uh it's not super organized, but it's it's it's pulling it's pulling it all the way around. It's probably going to try again here soon.
>> Has a surprisingly healthy coat on it right now. Again, >> our our our last clients were telling Scott he should do uh what are the the off-road racing?
>> Rally driving.
>> Yeah. H >> you look like a good rally driver.
>> Oh yeah, >> I know how to cut my corners.
Yeah, it looks like the south end of the wall cloud uh does have moderate rotation now. It does look organized.
>> Be be ready for just mass chaser chaos.
This has just been wild over here.
>> Yeah, there's a suspicious cone looking feature trying to come down now.
Oh. Oh, what's that? What's coming down?
What is that?
You see it? That cone over the barn? Oh, yeah. Yeah. Looks like we have some type of cone feature coming down. It's only halfway. It's not fast rotation, but it looks suspicious.
That was close. I thought that was going to come down. It's still there, but it's lifted.
Okay, looks like that cone feature has dissipated, but that was pretty suspicious. Got some moderate rotation still on the front end of that wall cloud wrapping in nicely.
Beautiful wall cloud. It's very low to the ground.
>> Yeah.
I just don't know if he's going to do it.
It's getting north of us now.
Might have to turn around.
>> Oh, it's getting low.
>> Yeah, it's low.
I mean, that's a feature.
That's it. That's the area you want to be right at.
I don't know if that stop sign's for me or for miles.
Still got strong rotation. Rap. It's rapid rotation underneath the wall cloud. It's drifting north.
Barry, you got your iPhone set up too, right? I can. That would be sick of you.
Do you want the angle? I'll take the angle.
Uh, Scott, what are you seeing? I'm still I'm still trying to work work my way through the RFD here. Just can't get around people, so I still have no visual.
>> Copy. I am uh about 9 miles north of Grand Rapid. I'm sorry. Uh Grand Island and uh uh the wall cuts uh starting to increase in speed rotation. It's drifting due north. Uh looks like it's going to try and do it here. Well, we've been saying that for a while, but it's it's most organized I've seen in a while.
How fast is this moving?
Well, it's drifting north uh at like like 20 mph. The wall flood's definitely accelerated and it's uh you're definitely getting an increase in uh rotation. It's actually you've got strong rotation though. There might be a tornado imminent, guys. I do see dust getting kicked up underneath it.
Guys, we might have a tornado here in just a moment.
>> Yeah, it's making ground contact, guys.
Tornado. Tornado.
Dang it.
>> Oh my gosh, these roads are sketch.
>> Wow.
>> Fully tornado just to the north.
>> What am I What am I on?
>> I'm just south of I don't see a thing.
Oh boy, these are bad roads, man.
Watch out. I got mud. Roll up your window.
Roll up your window.
How did I find the crappiest road?
Yeah, this road's crazy.
There it is. Oh my goodness. Whoa.
Violent water.
>> Please tell me you're getting that on camera.
>> Yep, I am.
Can you have it?
>> Yeah.
>> On the ground.
>> Yes, it's on the ground.
That's right.
>> Holy crap, brother.
>> Hey, brother in here.
>> Oh, >> holy crap. Hey, shot.
>> Oh my god, >> dude.
Woohoo!
>> Violent tornado coming right at us.
We need to move.
>> Yeah, we do.
>> It's going to hit that house.
Stand by. Get It's going to get Heat. Heat.
vehicle under camera.
There you go.
Oh, a large trunk cone.
It's It's pretty tall and large kind of like Lincoln Nebraska.
>> Yeah, it's got the I think you I see him.
I don't have cell service. Is that 7th Avenue and Denton? 7th Avenue and Denton Road.
This is north of St. library Nebraska uh houses completely almost halfway destroyed pretty much uh halfway destroyed. The wall are still standing except for the houses do.
How do you get in there?
Did you capture the >> I was just getting the debris flying up in the air.
>> Yeah, I did.
Hey, are you guys available for search rescue?
>> Nice job.
>> Yeah, I can.
>> Okay, got me to give you ad Well, it's going to be Denton Road and 7th. This is going to be at four miles direct north of St. Library.
Three houses are completely destroyed.
power.
Yeah.
Do we need record this?
I'm going to take the GoPro out because of the rain.
>> Close the doors when you get out of the car.
>> Watch out for mud.
>> Yeah.
got people trapped in the house that you see in front of you.
I've got to move this vehicle so that a merge can get through.
of What the Jeez, dude. I've never seen something like that.
Heat. Heat.
Heat.
Heat.
What's up, brother?
>> What's up, brother?
Heat. Heat.
You're all right. I'm sorry.
Instant. I'm going to go right behind you. My Insta was rolling the entire time.
That's going to be some wild.
>> Thank you, Brandon, for stopping.
>> Hey, thank you. Thank you so much.
I also missed the first problem when I heard you say you got people.
>> Yeah. And red man showed up and everyone showed up. I really I'm really grateful for you guys. Thank you for stopping and helping.
>> We we were sitting right there at the intersection. Tornado was coming over the hill and we had a bucket to the tree line right there and we turned back around and we watched the house go just explode. Both all these houses.
>> Yeah. Yeah. You were you were having trouble in the RV and I was like, "Dude, I hope >> slower than the store."
>> Yep.
>> Well, I messed up in the first place cuz once that new base, it was way off the other.
>> I was late because I was getting my tire pass at Walmart. So, I was coming in from the the east and I was like, "Oh my gosh, we're going to miss everything.
We're going to miss everything." And of course, we come down this sketchy dirt road right here. It was like just two ruts in the center that we kept bumping up on, you know, under the bottoming a little bit. And then we got right here and the twins come right over them. Show me your video. It's It's wild.
>> Yeah, just he got it.
>> It's It's crazy. Got on the stream.
>> Guard this with your life. This is got insane footage.
>> Definitely violent.
Oh yeah.
>> Oh, it was violent. Oh, yeah. It looked like It looked like uh Lincoln, Nebraska.
>> It looked just like Lincoln.
All right, everybody's accounted for.
Uh, that was Jordan Hall that just met up with me. Everyone's accounted for. No injuries. Everyone is safe. I just want to give everybody an update. Everyone is safe. And we pulled the people out of the house on the hill. Uh, there's an entrapment. I think they are um they're okay. I went down to the basement with them to check on them. And they've got two dogs. Everyone's safe there as well.
So, everyone's accounted for. No injuries.
>> It kept ripping and it started moving off that direction. I don't know how far it went. I know Romney talked about it when he visually like >> Oh And then you can tell it was really easy and all.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah. Thank God. Yeah.
>> Thank God. Looks like everybody and they're getting the two people out of that house, the people out of here are all taken care of. So, My buddy making progress.
>> He was out. I saw his truck. He was in the red top.
>> Yeah. Scooter.
>> Anything else?
>> Uh, no. Just these three houses.
>> Which way did it go?
>> There's nothing. Well, you know, there's nothing much. Yeah. That way.
>> That's where we went that way. Yeah.
>> I watch you go to the sky. Yeah, I'm a little bit emotionally. Uh, >> let >> Oh, dude. No, you're all good, man.
>> This is the most violent moment I've seen. I've been out. So, I'm like, wow.
We were like, >> it was coming. It was actually safe to go through this.
>> Uh, yeah, it's it's safe to go through.
What's your question?
How did you get around the green band?
Yeah, I watch I really didn't think it when I saw it.
I saw back again.
No way.
I see All right.
Did you get it?
That was insane.
I have that. You also I have a cooler one.
That's chang filmmaker.
It's all watered up.
Don't belong in this neighborhood.
>> It doesn't.
>> It got picked up and carried from where the hell it came from.
Dang.
Yeah, that's was over there talking.
>> So I was speeding home to kind of help res.
>> Thanks.
Everybody's got Okay, it's I told you I feel I thought Got it on video.
What the heat?
Where's my pick?
Holy cow.
That was a massive dog.
No, it's still a little smaller than mine.
>> Yeah, >> but Oh man.
>> Just like low key a little bit dressy.
>> No, I don't want it. I don't want it.
No.
>> You just want a black to throw on over though?
>> No. I'm going to throw over mine.
Okay, care of Break >> over by the tornado.
>> Yes. watching >> saw that live.
>> Uhhuh.
>> When that wild >> it was. Yes.
Where's the water?
Hey, brother. You're on a power line underneath.
>> It's dead.
>> Yeah.
Look at the power line. See, they're all severed. Gotcha.
>> Yeah.
That wild sitting down and like realizing how wild that was.
>> Yep.
>> I mean, >> we did the same thing, man.
>> Yeah.
>> Here, Scott, you want me to put that camera under your camera?
>> No.
>> Nope. That's for put it in the back then. Barry, could you put the my Sony in the back? Where is it at?
>> It's in Scott's.
>> Wait, what?
>> And by and your legs.
>> Oh, >> yeah. Sorry. I was like, wait, I'll take ND off. I guess >> the with the twist the ring >> with the ring.
>> Yeah. Thanks, brother.
>> Right over a damager.
That was crazy, brother.
That's pretty wild.
stuff. It's pretty wild.
There piece of wood everywhere.
>> More tornadoes forming there.
>> Nope. that cold front. It bumped into the storm to produce a tornado and now >> trying to get up the hill which I did.
>> See that's a cold front that wind.
>> Yeah tornado. That's what I was worried about. I was afraid that coldront was kill but actually helped it produce a tornado before it killed it. So Ashley bumped into it.
>> Those cars, dude.
>> You see that pickup that's closest to us, but the one >> So how do you know? No, throw your car like like that's if you're in it or if it's you have >> ors usually throw cars >> determine I can't that's my analysis. Um that's my personal analysis judging from but I don't know how strong these houses were.
>> That's that's the question of how wellb built these houses actually were.
guesstimate it was a weak EF4. It >> was a weak EF4. Okay. Wow.
>> Yeah. But it threw that pickup truck. Uh the black pickup truck, not the vehicle that that's uh closest to, but the other one. It it threw it.
>> So, were you at all scare when you were mounting the camera outside the car?
Like, >> no. I was like I was like, I should have done that earlier. That's what I was thinking.
>> That's what I was thinking at the at the at the moment.
>> Dude, we were thinking like, dude, that thing's getting close to us, man. Like, holy crap.
>> Oh, yeah.
>> You could hear it.
>> Yeah. And then I was thinking you roll your window down and roll it back up and I was going about I was about to kill you. Yeah. Wow.
>> Oh yeah. All the camera. This one's the only one that wasn't recording. But that's fine.
>> The one on the roof was >> We had that angle, too, so we had all covered.
>> Holy crap.
>> Yeah, >> dude. I was wearing my stupid headphones, too.
>> What were you doing?
>> You were not locked in.
>> Unless you were It was audio for your camera.
>> I know.
>> Was it audio from your camera?
>> No. I thought it was going to be a pretty tornado. I'm doing.
>> No, none of them are pretty when I get close.
>> Yeah. I was like, "What are you wearing your headphones for?"
>> Yeah.
>> That's funny.
>> Yeah. Nuh-uh.
>> Jeez.
>> I think it'll be a funny video, though.
>> Yeah. Well, I got it on c I got it on camera.
>> Yeah.
>> And you got yours on camera.
>> Yep. Yep. All angles.
>> Yeah.
>> All angles, baby.
>> And then I'll throw the throat vehicles.
It threw both those vehicles um cuz they were sitting on the uh pavement on the one of them was uh thrown about a football field away uh from the house.
But we did, just to let everybody know, we're safe. The tornado came right at us. If you watch the stream earlier, uh the tornado was coming right at us. Um we got out of the way and just in time and it start blew up these houses. We got crazy video of it. And then we uh went back to the houses and started doing search and rescue immediately after the uh tornado hit. And uh we found it a couple people in their basement. They were un but they were stuck. So we had the thing um talked while they were in the basement cleared debris out of the way so that the first responders could get in there and um get all their stuff out or get the help people get get out of their their houses. Um, but everyone's accounted for everyone's accounted for no injuries.
So, which is a blessing. I'm going to roll this down for just a minute cuz this is getting warm.
>> Um, at least it says it's getting warm. But um Colorado has been spitting out land spouts.
Oh, that's just what I wanted to hear.
>> Great land spout fest out in Colorado.
>> Yeah, I >> from that storm.
>> I don't know about going over there probably. I would obviously now looking back, I would have been better off to just stay or go back over there. I had thought about it, but >> we were a little late, but I mean we we actually >> we actually >> we actually got in position. Sure. Oh, gotcha.
>> Yeah.
>> Tornado warning. That thing wrapped up.
>> You all right?
>> Yeah. I'll be okay.
>> Yeah.
>> Her Gracie Gracie was having some wedding stuff in the house and she's >> three weeks.
>> Three weeks.
>> Yeah. I just found my mother of the bride dress.
>> Oh my gosh.
Wow.
>> Yeah.
Well, just it's getting fitted right now.
>> Okay. So, it's getting fitted. Okay.
That's a blessing.
>> I'm just glad you guys are all right. I mean, you guys won the lottery. I mean, literally with your lives cuz like >> Yeah, >> that was a violent violent violent tornado.
>> So, okay.
>> Yeah. I'm glad you guys are all right. I talked with um I got their information.
>> Um and there's a Red Cross taking care of you guys.
>> Oh, there's there she is. There.
>> Yeah.
>> So, okay. God bless you guys. All right.
All right.
Yeah, it's way south. Uh, just let her probably.
>> Hey, Josh.
>> Good.
>> Yeah, we're live. We're live on YouTube, so just let you know.
>> Okay.
>> Fine. So, um, whenever you get off a live, let me know.
>> Okay. I will do.
>> I did speak to the St. Liber or the Howard County Sheriff's Office and they were dispatching a fire truck. Yeah, we got we Yeah, we were we were there. We were the first people there. We uh I got >> and I first responders were called.
>> Yes.
>> Um to make sure everything's covered. So >> yeah, someone called >> you. Go ahead.
>> Yeah, someone called. I went down into the basement to to look over the the uh husband and wife that were stuck in their basement cuz they were stuck in there, but I was able to get down in there. I looked them over. I looked at their two dogs over. They're they were just fine. The fire department got them out. So, um, and, uh, everyone's accounted for. No injuries. I'm glad to report no injuries. So, >> good job, buddy.
>> Then, call me.
>> Yep. I'm I'm going to send you some stuff on the group chat.
>> All right. Thank you, my friend.
>> Yep. All right.
>> Out of here.
to start doing uh some video stuff cuz >> um that was wild.
>> Yeah, insane.
>> We literally drove at the tornado and then it started coming at us and then >> Yeah.
>> Um there's a lot of ats going on and >> your first tornado, right?
>> Yeah.
>> Holy cow, dude. That's >> That was wild.
>> That's what I told him. That's a That's a crazy first tornado >> thing, right? Okay.
>> I got some cool shots, too.
>> You got You got some good shots. Okay.
>> Cool.
>> Yeah, dude. You got some good shot, man.
We got all the angles, brother.
>> Discovery Channel's going to want that.
They're going to want all that. And we had we had Sarah uh Cassan out. and um Discovery is going to want some of that video in the eye of the storm. So >> yeah, >> um I'm glad. Thank you guys for stopping and helping and just filming and time >> is always a sheriff that gets really excited and like gets obviously can't actually do anything because we're not obstructing. Obstructing obstruction would involve me. Yeah. So that was automatically like nothing he would be able to do. I mean realize we're first responders get it. He does >> Yeah. And it's stressful for everybody.
So I I get it happens all the time. I just just let it roll. Um, hello Haley.
>> Hello.
>> Hey. Just want to say thank you and uh chat. Just want to let you guys know Haley was in the background running the stream. Making sure everything was up.
It's H A L E Y. She's my H. So tell the Haley. Uh, thank you. Uh, funny. Stormchasers in the Eye of the Storm premieres tonight at 10:00 and one chat just brought it up. So, we're probably going to be on season 2 now.
Um, but yeah, tell Haley thank you by the way. She's in the background. And I think someone in the chat actually called 911 for new uh uh I'm not sure who it was, but thank you for that. Um, Haley, I went down to the basement where the two people were entrapped, the husband and wife. They were fine and their two puppy dogs were fine. So, I just want to let let you know St. Library. St. Library.
>> Okay.
>> Yeah. Saint Library is where just north about 5 miles is where it was.
>> But yes.
>> Yeah. Funny story. Storm Techers in the Eye of Storms premieres tonight. I'm not in that one, but I probably will be in the next one. So, and up chat, too.
Yeah.
Um, but thank you, Haley.
>> Thanks, Haley. You're welcome.
>> What's the plan now?
>> Uh, we are heading.
>> Yeah, we need to get a hotel.
We need to know where though. I want to say Salina, Kansas.
We're probably ah, you know what?
I need to >> do some looking.
>> Yeah, I need to do some >> Are you done chasing for tonight?
>> Yeah, the cold front literally slammed into the storm, helped it produce a tornado, and then the storm died.
>> Oh, it was insane.
>> At least did it when you got to it. No, >> I was I went straight from Walmart to the storm. There was no there was no like stopping, >> right?
>> The the the nail is in better position than what I would have been.
>> It did.
>> That's always happens to you. You always have something that puts you is going to be behind and then >> perfect. But that's what I said. Scott somehow always lands right right where >> we went down this Haley we went down the sketchiest road in I I told I >> yeah I turned I turned to Cole I was like how did I find the the sketchiest road in Nebraska it's a two it's a two rut road and it's got I'm high centering in the middle >> like almost I can feel the bottom of the the center a little bit how did I find the how did I find the sketchiest road with all trees It's like, >> yeah, >> no idea.
>> Yeah, >> there was some uh skill there.
>> Yeah.
>> Well, do you want to gohead in in the stream or are you going to keep streaming for a little bit?
>> I'm going to stream for just a little bit. Um uh we have some fans that are on here.
They just want to make sure we're okay and we're all that. So, um let's see what this fire truck's going to do here.
Um, but yeah, I think we're going to start heading to our next target area.
Um, there's a land spout fest happening on on the Colorado border.
Uh, yeah. um um from the the out of the so um okay >> that way I can uh talk to them >> or uh contact them later on down the road. One of the girls uh the daughter of uh that was living with the mom.
She's having a wedding in 3 weeks and all her stuff got blown away. All her wedding stuff.
>> Oh no.
>> So sad.
>> All her wedding stuff got blown away.
>> That's so sad. Yeah, I know. That's really expensive. And >> but her wedding dress wasn't at the house. It's still being fitted.
>> Oh, well that's a relief at least.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah.
Anyway, we are heading to St. uh Library, which is just about 5 miles to our south here.
Um >> yeah, >> and then we're going to figure out where we're going to go from there. So, >> okay. Yeah. Um just keep me updated. Um >> yep, we'll do >> this.
Stand by.
>> Yep. Sounds good. Sounds good.
Yeah, that was wild. Absolutely.
He almost got hit by a tornado.
Hein, Nebraska almost got hit by a violent one. It just dissipated before it got to >> Hebrin. How How often are there?
>> Yeah, four.
>> It just >> You did not need the whole town hit.
>> Yeah, >> for sure.
>> Uh uh >> Cole Cole and uh Colton were both filming. And they got crazy shots of the house. Get blown away.
>> Of course to see another tornado.
>> Yeah.
>> And my better little >> Yeah, he got some crazy shots. Was that in 4K?
>> That was in raw.
>> Raw. Oh, so that's like in like uh >> like >> the same as uh uh uh what's that?
>> Uh Apple ProRes.
>> Apple Pro. Is it better than Apple ProRes? Uh >> yeah, yeah, >> better than Apple Pro R. That's even a >> Yeah, he got it with a cinematic cameras and so did Colton. He got it with a cinematic camera as well. So we got cinematic shots.
>> Yeah. You know, if we go in the stream, I need to Yeah.
going in the stream.
>> Yeah. Say your >> Yeah. Thanks guys for being on the stream. Really appreciate it. Everyone I guess not I I would guesstimate is an a low through it through vehicles and you saw it on the stream. You guys saw it live on the stream.
Um, I would guesstimate in my personal opinion, not the weather services opinion, but my opinion that was the F4 because it literally threw a car 100 yards, a pickup truck, a a crew cab, a four-door pickup truck 100 yards from the house.
So, I would say low.
So anyway, we are going to sign off. Thank you guys much for joining. We'll be streaming. It's going to be very for tornadoes in Kansas. So, uh definitely tune in again tomorrow.
Uh we will be uh stop.
>> Yeah, we will be uh out there again streaming live. So, uh, see you again tomorrow. He's going to stop.
>> So, thank you guys. Uh, and, uh, God bless. Uh, we will see you on tomorrow, potential violent tornado day.
So, be sure to come back. And if you didn't see uh, see how close we got tornado today.
We got within 100 yards. So, and so uh cinematic and uh cameras of the tornado that were not caught on the stream on our dash cam. So, thank you guys on in Kansas. God bless. Bye-bye.
