The Tirupati Gangamma Jatara is a 500-year-old folk festival dedicated to Goddess Gangamma, the Grama Devata (village deity) and spiritual sister of Lord Venkateswara, held annually at the historic Sri Tataiahgunta Gangamma Temple in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh. The festival features sacred 7 disguises (Veshams) including Bairagi, Banda, Thoti, Dora, Mathangi, and Sunnapu Gundalu, along with key rituals such as the midnight Chatimpu announcement, the grand Perantalu Vesham offering of Sapparalu, and the sacred Viswarupa Darsanam. The 2026 schedule runs from May 5th to May 13th, with the main Jatara Day on May 12th.
