2026 Forest Park 500 | With USAC Driver Chase StockonAdded:
[music] [music] [singing] [music] [singing] [music] [singing] >> This deal here at Forest Park Elementary School we've came for a couple years now and it's really cool what they do with the kids here and everybody has a really good time and you know something that they do for the special needs children here really give them something exciting different to do bring excitement and a racing you know in the state of Indiana here in the month of May and >> great event for these kids. [music] They put on a pretty good pretty good race here. It's our pleasure to bring our sprint car out and Chase out and the team to support [music] these kids and what they're doing.
After the race they'll be getting prizes and you'll see them drink the milk the winner and It's a pretty heartfelt experience.
We had our Forest Park 500 here at Forest Park Elementary. Uh it includes our functional life skills classrooms.
It's our students [music] who need the most help, the most accessibility to things, and so we try to put on the event for them that's designed just for them with all the other students cheering them on. We had all of the schools in our school corporation come today to cheer on the students because the students come from all areas of our school district. So, we're really proud of what we kind of built [music] this into. It just allows all of our students an opportunity to shine and have a day that's theirs. I'm a big Indianapolis 500 fan, been going for 20-plus years, so I said, "Why don't we make it bigger?
We've got an oval outside." And so, we've just run with it. And so, we've we've had now field trips to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway with our life skills group, and fifth grade goes with them, and so we're just trying to teach them about, you know, >> [music] >> what it's like really close to our community. I mean, it's an hour away, and we have a lot of people around here that the Indy 500 is a special time for them and their families, and so we wanted to make sure that we incorporated that, but also that we made it about our students and allowed them to kind of be the ones who got to be the stars of the show [music] and the racers.
Drivers, start your engines.
>> [applause] >> And we're off.
Watch where you're going.
Watch out. Watch out.
Woo!
>> [cheering] [applause] >> And the 2026 >> [cheering] >> Boston Marathon winner Rita Jeptoo.
>> [cheering] >> Hey, great job.
Get it?
Good job, Mary Beth.
