Solar Death Ray vs Large Super Magnet | Extreme Physics Experiment

[00:00:00]I want to see if I could nullify the power of this super-strong magnet with the solar death ray. To demonstrate this, I attached a bunch of iron [music] screws to the periphery of the magnet.

[00:00:08]The screws were held tightly in the magnetic field, as was this set of pliers.

[00:00:13]>> [music] >> I used copper wire to suspend this thing in midair, and then I aimed the solar death ray right at the [music] magnet.

[00:00:20]As the intense light hit the magnet, it glowed brightly and began to heat [music] up. And soon screws began to fall from the magnet as it lost its power. A bunch of the screws fell off the bottom of the magnet first, and then the whole thing became top-heavy [music] and twirled around. By the way, check out that rainbow of colors projecting through and around the magnet onto the ground.

[00:00:42]After a while, the magnet became totally demagnetized [music] and lost all its power. I diverted the light to test the magnet, and it was forever demagnetized [clears throat] by the power [music] of the solar death ray.
