A series of strong earthquakes (magnitude 4.5 and several magnitude 3+ events) occurring in a concentrated area near Reykjavik, Iceland, with depths of 1-3 kilometers, may indicate magma accumulation and potential volcanic eruption, as frequent seismic swarms often precede eruptions by releasing tension from magma movement.

Series of strong earthquakes close to Reykjavik, magn 4.6. Eruption coming close to Litlakaffistofa?Added:
Hello friends and again greetings from my son. I'm driving home now from work and I wanted to tell you about big earthquake that we had today very close from here. I will be passing by that location. It's very close to the highway to the ring road and we have a lot of earthquakes there like hundreds already for the past two days. uh and their um depths varies between uh like 1 kilometer to a few kilometers and but it's very suspicious because it's a lot of earthquakes that we have here for 2 days like it looks like uh it's has to do with eruption. Maybe lava is trying to break out to the surface. Here we are about 50 kilometers away to the east from Sunnukor Fisherand to the east of Grindavik. But you know maybe lava is traveling from Blue Lagoon to here somewhere I don't know through um some underground piping system. I wouldn't exclude it that might break out here but this seismic activity is very very strange.
Actually, the closest point to this um uh earthquake epicenter of those earthquakes is this coffee shop here.
And I will just slow down next to this coffee shop to show you where this activity is going is happening. Is right here like 2 km from this coffee shop.
Actually, it was a coffee shop. Uh um but um it's not a coffee shop anymore.
But uh you will know where is the activity is taking place. So we will turn in here 2 kmters from this coffee shop here in in this area behind the coffee shop that's we have where where we have the seismic activity ongoing.
4.5 earthquake was here a very strong one. This coffee shop is called it lila coffee stoa. to see it. Uh it was a coffee shop in the old days. Now it was bought out by company call it Icelandia.
And they made it into a northern light center. They bring here tourists at night to see uh northern lights and that's where we have seismic activity.
4.5 earthquake. It was very strong. And there you see some car there. It was in this area here somewhere. This is hang volcano. It's an active volcano.
Um it's a volcano volcano ridge. You can uh see a video on my channel. I hike it all this ridge last year for um all the way to the summit. It was about um 4 hours hike. And uh I'll get out from the car to show you this area because that's where we have a lot of earthquakes. Now every day earthquake swarm and that looks very very strange. This is the ring road.
The ring road which goes all around Iceland.
This is very important highway. Anyways, if we were with the rock here, that would be even a threat to rak. Raik is just uh like 15 minutes drive from here, you know, very close raik.
Yeah, there's a big parking lot. So, lots of safe activity. 2 km from this coffee shop here and here here in in this lava field you see.
So what what is happening here? It's a question to specialists but uh but that was very big earthquake you know houses in were shaking people were scared and also in Thorop where I live uh my wife reported uh this earthquake too I was in the car I didn't feel it but it was like and we had also couple of earthquakes magnitude 3 uh 3.3 3.5 quite a few strong ones be uh besides that one see people are coming here uh just to see what is happening here because uh those Icelanders who stopped here they are checking sorry something happened they are checking um they are checking the maps here Because this earthquake was affected Raikovic.
So everybody's curious what is brewing up here.
Well, something is happening here. Maybe we have if lava breaks into the surface here, it can go to Raikavik. You know, it's it's very dangerous. So that's how the area looks like.
This is a vit mountain uh from my side.
Very foggy today. Just next to ll coffee show this.
Yeah. So now you know where this thing happened at this big earthquake.
It was here guys.
right here like 2 kilometers from from this coffee shop and a bit further like there where you see the steam we have the biggest geothermal power plant in Iceland and that's also dangerous because of course it provides stress there and hit for rake from fork.
Anyway, all the best to you guys.
Greetings from Iceland. God bless.
This map doesn't tell much information because it's uh we are right here and this map more to the but in any case it's somewhere here but we are it's this coffee shop is not even indicated on this map. We arrived here.
Not very helpful. But anyway, I keep driving further. I'll just show you this area.
I was showing you this road before. I mean it's not the first time I'm driving here with the camera but just you would have an idea what is uh where there you see the biggest geothermal power plant in Iceland um it's called hey the virun and some earthquakes are like uh to the to the north of this plan anyway we have a lot of earthquakes in this area here to the left side like it's We had an eruption here 1,000 years ago, you know. So, it's not the first. It's a highly volcanic area. You see, wherever you look here, it's all lava. Lava lava, you know. It's kind of recent lava. Not not not very ancient geological terms, of course.
So I wouldn't exclude the eruption in this area because it looks very suspicious. Too many earthquakes. I'll show you now um on the earthquake uh maps and also on Icelandic map office information about those earthquakes.
I don't uh live here. I live 20 minutes drive from here. My place kind of safe where I live because I have lava wouldn't cross across the mountains with the rocks. It's just uh it's too far away. So, it's more dangerous to break away. I have to go through the mountain pass here. You see? So my town is safe.
But if it happens here, Rick would be in trouble now.
Yeah. There you see steam from the power plant. They extract the steam and um make the electricity very powerful steam flow will rotate the turbines and makes electricity you know.
Yeah. Now you see the power plant better.
I'll just slow down here and show you this power plant.
I even have a drone video some time ago.
I made a drone video at that power plant. There you see it is the biggest in Iceland, you know.
So earthquakes are also relatively close to this power plant.
Okay, we are looking at the earthquake map of Iceland in the past 24 hours or so. And here you see the epicenter of those earthquakes and you have them ongoing along the entire area all the way into the ocean raken is rich.
So entire this system including Grindavic area it's all connected as you see and the tension sometimes jumps in between we had a lot of earthquakes in the ocean if you remember some days ago and it just jumps in between this area and now they say the eruption might take place here. So it's the entire area this kind of this belt of rakiness is active that's uh so perhaps those earthquakes have to do with the tension release uh due to the magma accumulation green but magma can push wherever you know this is a lots of huge amount of magma that accumulated in the middle of this belt and it can move wherever you know so It's not necessarily you we will see eruption um in Grindovic but uh let's look at the earthquake graph. You see those lines there earthquakes you see number four. So today we had an earthquake number 4.5 or something. It was 2:00 and right after you had a few more strong ones um magnitude 3 and you see um there is a time pattern be behind this because yesterday about same time right before 6:00 uh you had an earthquake swarm the same.
So the earthquake seem to pick up uh before 6:00, right before 6:00 in the afternoon, late afternoon uh right after 12 and then they start kicking in. Why it's connected with time with the movement of earth? God knows it's hard to explain this uh why there is this time pattern you see.
But so we might see another even bigger uh push earthquake push tomorrow uh afternoon perhaps even stronger than 4.5 which might cause even damage I don't know hard to say but there is this time pattern but let's look um at the graph and for you see here is information at 3345 an earthquake of magnitude with 4.5 a carrot west of who smoothly at hand vol uh magnitude three and bigger open yeah you see here we had four five earthquakes today magnitude uh three and bigger and four of them were close to that office 3.5 4.5 3.8 and 3.4 four headly say the vin it's a geothermal problem which is right next it's more or less same same place uh so those are the big ones today and if we go magnitude one then you have like really a lot of them and most of them are likely the coffee stoa coffee stoa which is that coffee shop like you see uh like dozens of earthquakes, they are not felt, but uh a lot of them. So perhaps the night should be peaceful, but maybe it's good to be out of the house tomorrow afternoon between 12 and and 6.
uh if you live very close to this coffee shop at Nordinka hold maybe if you don't wish to get scared too much but uh I don't know but it's very very well likely but there are of course speculations about the eruption in this area I don't know but this is I didn't see this kind of pattern for a long time because uh you don't see this often like like this this is because this kind of P and usually like those frequent small earthquakes precedes the eruption. So this is not uh common well not that common to see this amount of earthquakes uh happening uh just like that in for such a long time. You might have a few for a few hours but here had we had quite many.
Uh this is what I wanted to tell you. I wish you a peaceful night. All the best.
Stay tuned and we will see what happens tomorrow.
But something is brewing up.
Down.
