‘The future of nuclear energy’: Governor Cox, Secretary Wright discuss nuclear energy progress in Ut

[00:00:00]Back here locally, one year after President Trump's nuclear executive order, Governor Cox and Energy Secretary Chris Wright met in Park City today to discuss nuclear progress here in the Beehive State. They did so at the Operation Gigawatt Summit. Just a short time ago, Cox addressed safety concerns regarding nuclear energy, specifically with Utah's past history of nuclear fallout. Take a listen. We're not blowing up nuclear in the desert anymore. We know that that was that was terrible. Should never have happened.

U we we now have a track record in this country a 60 plus year track record in this country of safe nuclear. We we have uh 20% of our uh of our nation is receiving its power from nuclear today.

[00:00:52]Meanwhile, Wright added that Utah has the potential to be a top leader when it comes to nuclear energy.
