Quantum communication technology enables unhackable secure networks by using entangled photons, and developing this technology domestically is essential for European digital sovereignty and resilience against future quantum computing threats, as it allows full control over system design, fabrication, and software while leveraging existing fiber infrastructure for nationwide deployment.

Securing Europe’s InternetAdded:
I think this technology [music] is very important for Europe. It is because the main driver of IT development is not [music] located in Europe. A lot of funding in quantum technologies, they build a threat also [music] to European societies.
And to protect European [music] societies from outside technologies, it's very important that we keep the technology in Europe. Also to have this technology [music] in Europe. To be resilient. The dream, the vision goes that everyone [music] can participate from secure communication. Once we have taken this technology embraced by [music] early adopters, we want to have this service provided to everyone. For us it's important [music] to have the capabilities to design our systems, especially at the quantum part of those systems, to fabricate >> [music] >> those parts, and also integrate everything. And on top of that, you need the capabilities to create [music] the electronics you need, and also writing your own software. This package will give us the opportunity to have the the control [music] over the product or the solution, and having also the transparency, and really make sure that we really do what we are promising.
What we have in-house is that we have [music] automated production. Once the market embraces the technology, we [music] can easily scale up production.
We want to to change the way how we communicate based on the fundamentals of physics.
>> The product is designed in a way that almost every part in the product can be automated fabricated. [music] This helps us now to roll out the product in higher volumes in the future. One of our goals [music] is to really create infrastructure or deploy infrastructure.
So right now we [music] are in talks with partners.
How can we set up, let's say, a nationwide network? To [music] roll out this technology and secure the German fiber network, we just need 100 nodes where we can [music] implant QKD service.
And to roll out this technology to whole Europe, we maybe need a 10 times more.
The good thing about [music] our technology is you don't need new stuff.
You can actually use what's already [music] there. So, existing fiber infrastructure. Glass fibers, which are buried already everywhere. So, [music] the technology can be directly used. I would love to see our product at homes.
Any party [music] in Europe can communicate securely.
Europe can build. What's missing is her story. For decades, we got taught to fear future, not build it. That's why we are making documentaries about the engineers, scientists, and founders building the future.
Here in Europe.
