Ciney Militaria Show: Rare Finds & Fantasy Problem!Added:
Okay guys, it's Saturday, so it's setting up day. I was very late today sadly, so I didn't have much time to check around, make my table, so I did it very quickly. Tomorrow, my wife Sally isn't here, so I have to be at the stand here, so there will not be too many footage of the fair. But I hope you enjoy the video.
I hope I sell a lot and have a very good day. Okay, starting off with filming at the best table here at the show and also for my customers.
From now on, I accept payment via bank. So, bank contact. I have a uh payment system which accept most of the cards here.
European cards, Visa cards, normal cards, all cards.
But you can't run care.
Oh, nice.
Those are food.
Someone Right.
Yeah. We have here Okay.
Yeah.
How are you?
Pick up guy.
Good to watch.
If you if you have Pokemon on your show, >> if you have Pokemon League on your show, You will get free advertisement in all national >> you made a lot of >> and sorry for a shorter uh video than usual, but yesterday I was alone with my little helper. My wife wasn't there, so I couldn't walk around much. I just uh shot some videos uh on Saturday when we uh put up our tables and that was it for the race. I was completely at the table Sunday. It was a good fair. I enjoyed the fair. I had a good fair. So, cannot tell anything bad. But of course when I walked around a little bit uh Saturday mostly the uh there's still too much fakes but also just bland out fantasy.
That's something that should the fair or organizers or so or something should mention or uh spread messages like in a newsletter.
Keep the fantasy out. It doesn't do our hobby any justice, you know. And if I talk about fantasy, you know what I mean? It's not always the German stuff like SS things fantasy, but also like uh other fantasy items from collaboration or from British or American things that never existed, but people made it just because it's cool and they try to catch a sucker.
Oh, man. that that just just stop the f I can uh appreciate or something like rapro so that people who don't have the budget can have something at home although it's not original but they can enjoy something that looks like it plan out fantasy that that just should stop I also uh learned uh many new faces also people that um for the first time um meet me and who watch my videos also children which I I was uh very surprised there was actually a girl with her father uh 40 years of age and um she recognized me from YouTube but she is collecting the father doesn't interest that much she does help and support her but he didn't start in collecting he didn't have a thing with history with his daughter by watching videos on YouTube or she gained an interest and she was the one collecting So, they bought a helmet. Uh, it was a dug up helmet, but you know, it's it's a start.
Uh, she bought a small thing.
No, she didn't, but something with me. I gift her uh something, you know, that it's fun to uh help her collecting.
There was also another small kid who did buy something uh small like a uniform, but uh Bundesphere, but I gave him also extra medals. I gave him some shoulder boards so he can enjoy the collecting more and see also the good side of the hobby, not only the bad side. And I will now uh talk a little bit about the things that I picked up yesterday. Uh maybe some I will make in another video.
There was a commenter who mentioned I should make like a top item of the month or top three or something which sounds like a good idea. And maybe one of those things could be this one.
It's a very rare sword like only a couple hundred made and I heard like someone say only 200. So in a lecture it said a couple hundred and it could be so 200 and it's a British sword gifted to the Belgian army after the battle of the eer and I won't not to talk too much about it because then it's needed to make a separate video but just look at the monogram and this is very rare. I hope you can see it, but it has a monogram of our King Albert made on it.
And if you don't know about our King Albert, he was a true hero, our king. He didn't flee the country when the Germans invaded in World War I, but he uh uh wore his uniform and he went to the front line and kept fighting there. His wife uh became a nurse uh to help the soldiers. It's the king of the soldiers and you should really learn more about our King Albert. He's a hero and he deserve all recognition he can uh earn.
Uh another thing I picked up is this beautiful postwar signature of autoinger. As you know guys, I do in lot of signatures. So always good to pick up this.
A few photos of the waffs. this one lab standard and it's called lab standard or lh in English or alaha but do not call it leap standard it's such a common mistake that they do not write liart or speak lipstand it's the love brigade so stop uh it's just funny so it's lab standard not leap standard another uh portrait and uh some photographs likely from the Yugan division in the training. These are with Sepitri and more generals here.
So that's a a set that will come online soon.
Picked up some medals.
This one in a beautiful pouch. It's the mother cross in silver. So if the females during the third track emit like a number of children think to four and now five to six and seven to eight different grades you could earn then with for the motocross. And this is a beautiful stone mint. It's really stone mint. I don't know if the camera can do justice here but it's really really stone mint.
And it comes with a pouch.
Then I picked up two mother crosses in bronze. Also nice that the recipient named was uh written on it. It's not that rare because when they they reward it, it's most likely a pillow or a table. Then these were put up on it and sometimes it had the name of the people who should be given to it.
uh written on it. So this is a bronze one still in the cellophane.
I will try to make and also this one in beautiful condition.
So this is the bronze grade made by Carlo Vster.
Another one. This one from Linton May.
You know how it looks. So not really a reason to open them both.
loyal service award medals for the 40 years like you have 25 it's a smaller box and uh not with a mechanism and it's silver this one is gold not real gold made by this and zone and also in mint condition as you can see also the package itself is near mint condition I do like my stuff worn but if you have with metals and the boxes are clean.
Those are the most desirable. But I do love worn medals. So, not the boxes that are kaput or something. But I love worn uh medals and also insignia and uniforms. They should be worn for me.
Also some zen in pouch also with the name of the recipient on it. And this one could be interesting because it looks like Hman Raman or something. But Hman is like a very high rank by carotler and Petel you can see and they're all boot metal.
So for the wrist small medals or shoot and zikin the most desirable are boot metal. They also made zinc versions.
Those are a little bit less desired, a little bit less uh they are cheaper.
Do know that the ed they were awarded for building of the west wall but in 44 they reinstituted it to be awarded.
Those in 44 were mostly zinc because they had to save medals.
What should I show next? So these two books or brochures from the Flemish uh is this collaboration.
Flam Flemish up flaming up in nice condition.
It's always difficult to say like uh great condition, nice condition because these things are like over 80 90 years old and these things should be read you know they read it. So it always can go scratches on it or uh in back in the day like you open too fast or too hard and there could be scratches in it or a little bit torn.
As long it's not a wall page, I don't care.
Okay. So also you the beautiful standard also in great condition.
Then I bought also Soviet medals. This one for the capture of Vin.
And these are no prices on it. I wrote to be certain the cities on it. So I do not forget. Uh this is Kisburg.
Think it's nice to have a little bit of a selection for everyone. These are Stalingrad and these sell very well.
Every time I have a little bit of styling of these metals, they sell quickly.
So, so I I have a couple of staling. I think three or four, no, four and a half as you can see.
So, stalling always sells in a fling grat.
And these medals are also uh still collectible and not too expensive to purchase.
This is for the polar and some merit for courage.
These are numbered so you can research it. Do know that the unnumbered are after the war. So when you have number it is good. If there's no number it it's certainly after the war. And normally this is also silver and the other one.
And I bought another red star awarded in the second half of 45.
That's the number written on it online.
You can research the number in which range and you can see the number in which range it was and then you can find in which time period it should have been awarded. Another thing I recently picked up is this beautiful Belgium metal bar for my own collection.
Very beautiful. And this is the guy wearing it. And this it's also worn here on the photograph. This one have also more uh photographs of him, more papers of him. So beautiful to have this one for my own collection.
I also picked up this detonator. It's a German detonator, but of course the Belgium took it and use it for themselves. Also, the resistance of the Belgians uh used this one. So, it's a shuffler, but then the Belgians uh stamped their own number in it. also changed the plate.
Pudi the Belgic Expo MN system Bet Shuffler.
So it's a German made one and these were also used by the uh the Belg and the Belgian resistance but it's in working condition now. You can see can to pull it off.
And then the house next door also another Belgium stuff are these two uh branadir uh uh uh pouches. Don't know how to say it in uh branadir. How you say it? Like empty.
Uh still in very nice condition.
There is new stuff added in it. But it's very rare to also find to complete with the straps also. Beautiful. You have I think three uh types of this one. So one with a cross here, one without cross and but it's uh ar bells written on it. But this one is also very nice because it still which is often missing is here the table and also the strap here also some uh stuff in it.
This beautiful pioneer zeni as we say here uh cap for high officers. So this should have three uh lines here.
And the it goes one to the complete uh reverse. But just look how beautiful this is. So very happy with this one.
And this British uh helmet World War II. I think it's marked uh G SW U M Kat 1941 also stamped here in the inner liner but just look at the camouflage like baton cement how you say it and this is the flag uh Bel flag hand painted on it so I don't know when it was done but it's and also What you should watch out for the the first Belgian helmets for the F years or Bono etc. they were always hand uh painted and later they had decals. So if it's hand paint it's still early but I never seen this. If anyone else does seen it or know more, please let me know about this type of camouflage.
I do not vouch for this flag honestly, but it looks all original. If you can see like the cracks and system, it's very old. It's there when it was damaged. It also a little bit paint is off, so it's not painted afterwards.
So, still very looks very nice and glad I could buy this one.
I have some German ammo pouches which were also reused by the Belgians.
And Belgium typically uh stamped it with their uh stamp number uh with their individual numbers.
So you sometimes can track. The early ones still had three uh letters in front which is for the unit. So you can also track which unit it was. And this one is nice because this one has a hook added to it to hang it on their uh webbing for the Belgians.
I'll drink a little bit.
And just a small pause. If you see this guy on YouTube, you should really subscribe and like his videos. He's topnotch and I do really enjoy his videos.
and also bought some British uh medals.
I honestly had this sent to my contact in England and then he brings it uh with him to me in s because otherwise with the charges and of course it's very well packed.
Let's see. So, it comes with a few of the sets come with a soldiers release book.
And this one earned Africa Italy Star War Medal, etc. And I have one and I'm just looking here which one it was.
I think it was Wle took with the papers.
He fought in Normandy and then he was killed in action in Holland.
Yeah, he was killed in action on 26th of December 1944.
No, 26th October 1944.
He was killed in Holland.
It does not say where exactly, only in Europe, but I know he was killed here in uh in Holland.
Could be Wes or Poppel.
The this is unit equipped with uh 25 pounder sexton and Sherman observation post tanks.
Yeah, really nice. Same thing world medals and these are his also these British medals I I find them collectible especially the early ones from World War I when they were still numbered and you can research them with these you have need to have luck that people know them or kept kept it with them or etc. Let's see. Check.
I'm going to take my toothpick.
Look at this.
It's now only a bunch of medals, but understand what this guy had to do to earn them all. It's incredible.
And now it's only yeah worth it value in in of the medal but not of the history the things that soldier went through.
This is a smaller bar.
So and This is This one comes with the soldiers release book and this soldiers pay book.
First time I have this one actually for Walter Clark.
He was a fireman locomotive.
Two bar severum aerody in 1942 sent overseas.
They're very nice. And these are uh Walter Clark his medals.
Okay. This this one did not belong to uh this one. It only has a it's a different uh release book of SHA. So, it goes with a different metal set. I can check it online uh with the messages he did send me so I can uh make them correct again which was where.
So, I hope there's anything you guys collect here. Uh it will come online in the next few days, weeks. It will all come online. Also, new stuff. I will try to make some new videos because I received uh uh good feedback from the people who visited me and it's enjoyable that uh I also help kids make the fun a little bit more uh funny. The uh not real fun but um that they enjoy to watch my videos and bring it like on a cool way to show the new stuff. teach him a little bit more.
Uh I do not do boo smoke. I will try to give a a good uh impression for everyone watching. I do I went to the fitness actually uh this morning. I started uh last week because I got a little bit fat. I took a Sabbath here because normally I I sport, I do MMA, I do kickbox. I took a year off and honestly I gained a lot of fatuh by not doing it.
I was actually like this. uh when I served in the army after the army I got really fat and I was like oh I cannot do that so I went to the sport but now I took a sabbath here so I now starting again so hopefully as soon I will uh enjoy uh MMA uh again also my son so he can get stronger and also improve his life actually this one uniform he never saw.
I got a little bit longer, but I didn't always make a video, but I really should. I have I picked up some nice items in the previous weeks, months that I actually need to show off. There are some very nice pieces and rare pieces in it. But this one very highly collectible here now in Belgium and very difficult to find are the we call it a troop vesta. Uh so troop vests or troop uniforms or troop uniforma and this is what they wore during uh May 40.
And I will tell you something. I are Belgium heroes. We uh fought the Germans 18 days against a very modern army. I cannot express enough how proud we should be because Belmss are really like low. They're they're like, "Oh, we've done it." And no, no need to be proud or anything. But people should be more proud of their home country like we Belgium, Flemish, Woom, whatever. We should be more proud. We fought in World War I. We fought before World War I, we fought during World War II, we fought in Korea, we went to Somalia, we went to other African countries. And we always uh either were very stubborn and gave the enemy a hard time or we never surrendered. and we always did very well. It's it's a thing that we should appreciate and should be more proud of.
And also you whatever you're from, if you are from the UK, uh Germany, France, Holland, you should be more proud of your own home country, own army, whatever it does, you should always uh support it and be more proud of it. And maybe because to end it, I can show another pickup I made. I really uh didn't thought to make it this video.
All right, we'll keep it for our next video. It's about Korea. I don't know if many people know it, but uh the United Nations, so American, British, uh some Dutch, uh Belgiums, uh a few Luxembourgs, etc. fought in Korea in combined.
And it's it's not I think that it's highly collected. I don't know if it's if there are many collectors out there, but it's really great stuff as well. If I show you the uniform, you're really going to like it. Well, guys, this was it for this video. I really hope you enjoyed it. Uh, please leave a comment, a feedback, a like, a subscribe, and I also want to thank our our second member who became a pay member of my channel.
they do not gain anything in return. But uh yeah, it it supports me and it's it's actually fun and and and enjoyable that people uh take a small subscription just to support me, make more videos.
It's not that I asked to do become it. I never did ask, but when I see someone do it, man, I will show my appreciation.
So guys, uh thank you for that and I see you in the next video. Bye.
