[00:00:05]It's really embedded in culture and history and society. I bet you grab as average high school kids >> Yeah. who We're lucky if they heard of him. And if they did, oh yeah, he was that nut. Uh-huh. And and and unfortunately, you know, maybe a lot of the generation learned who John Brown was from watching the stupid Showtime mini-series.

[00:00:34]They're calling him insane. It doesn't say it's nuts. He says brain maddened brain maddened by repeated injuries.

[00:00:41]>> [laughter] >> A majority of abolitionists, even up into the Civil War, are painted as a bunch of nuts. Right. Yeah. And of course that starts to change as time goes on, but lumping John Brown in with this group of nuts is just an an easier way to vilify him, too.
