Americans FURIOUS That Tax Refunds Trump Promised Don’t Exist

[00:00:00]As everybody knows, Wednesday, April 15th was, of course, tax day here in the United States, and tax day has now come and gone. Most people obviously filed their taxes long before April 15th, and most people had already received their tax refunds.

[00:00:21]Now, remember last summer, right, right in the heart of the one big beautiful bill, which again is the dumbest name for any piece of legislation ever. That makes absolutely no sense. Um, but we were told repeatedly that Republicans are cutting our taxes and that we are going to see some of the biggest tax returns we have ever seen.

[00:00:47]everybody, not just the wealthy elite, you're going to get more money back, they told us.

[00:00:56]And statistically, based on information from the Trump administration's IRS, the average tax return has increased this year. It has increased by on average $350 more than it was the year prior 350 bucks. Now, in today's economy, 350 bucks obviously doesn't go a long way, but it can make a big difference. Uh it can almost get you half a set of new tires for your car, almost half.

[00:01:35]But 350 bucks versus if you are in the wealthy elite or if you are a major corporation, you probably paid zero taxes. And of course, you get to ride off the cost of a whole private jet if you bought one last year.

[00:01:49]But for the average American that actually gets a refund instead of owing 350 about 350 is what you got there. So the Loch Ness monster would be happy about that, but the rest of us not so much. And in fact, Americans are rather pissed off.

[00:02:12]Multiple reports out this week spoke to people including one that I absolutely love from the state of Alabama, deep red state of Alabama. They went and they spoke to voters who did get refunds and asked them how you feeling about getting more money this year than you got last year. And most of them said, "I honestly don't even notice it."

[00:02:33]What I do notice is that it doesn't matter because everything else is so much more expensive than it was just a year ago.

[00:02:45]So, what am I supposed to even do with this? Gas is now over $4 a gallon.

[00:02:52]Coffee is up 40% from this point last year. Beef prices are astronomical, up 18% in most areas of the country.

[00:03:04]So, the fact that my tax return increased by 10% doesn't really help at all.

[00:03:12]At the same time this was happening on tax day, CNN released new polling data that shows Americans are not happy with Donald Trump's handling of the issues on taxes. He's at a negative 28 point net approval rating on taxes.

[00:03:35]This uh during his first term he was plus two points. So, he had a positive approval rating on his handling of taxes in the first term. He's now negative 28 points.

[00:03:47]So that one big beautiful piece of trash they passed last summer, it did in fact increase your tax refund for those of you who still get refunds.

[00:04:02]But because the cost of everything else increased by far more than your tax refund increased, you're still left with less money than you've probably ever had in your adult life.
