I am undergoing the bromination reaction, and we have the nitro group over here, which is a deactivating and electron withdrawing group. And I have methoxy group on the bottom, which is an activating electron donating group. The methoxy group is going to activate the ortho and para positions. The nitro group is going to deactivate its own ortho para positions, which means that the substitution is going to go into one of these two positions, which means that product A is our correct answer.
