Federal courts can release individuals from custody based on their value as witnesses or assets to law enforcement, even when they are charged with serious crimes. In this case, Lantrell Williams Senior (father of rapper Pooh Shiesty) was released from federal custody after a judge determined he was a valuable asset to the investigation, despite being charged with kidnapping and robbery alongside his son and others. The discovery of 96 gigabytes of video evidence by federal authorities significantly impacted the defense strategy, requiring legal teams to request additional time to review the footage. This case illustrates how evidence discovery can dramatically alter legal proceedings and defense approaches, while also highlighting the complex relationship between law enforcement, witnesses, and criminal defendants.

>> So, are you Oh, so you're you're thinking that he's going to do the unthinkable.
>> I'm He I'm thinking he thinking like a man.
>> Wait a minute. It says Memphis, Tennessee WMC uh uh says that a federal judge has denied the government request to revoke the release of Lantrell Williams Senior, the father of Memphis rapper Pooh Shisty. After a hearing Wednesday, the judge ordered Williams to be released, lifting any temporary state that they delayed that delayed it. He is now set to be released from custody.
William Senior and co-fendant Rodney Big 30 Wright Jr. have pleaded not guilty in the Dallas studio kidnapping and robbery case involving rapper Gucci Man. William Big 30 and seven others including his son Pushi are facing charges for robbery and kidnapping. A jury trial for Pushi and eight others are set for July the 6th. Wait a minute. Why is he getting out and >> Okay. YEAH. HOW COME B30 AIN'T GETTING OUT? DO YOU REALIZE how how valuable you have to be to the fans that the judge go against the prosecution? They said, "Hell no, we don't want him out." And the judge said, "The hell what you're talking about your stand, we letting him out because he is a valuable asset to the feds." So all of this pre-talk that he already had worked with him, you know, allegedly before, all of this talk now is coming to fush and soon as we getting ready to go, you're getting close to court time, man. Let me holl at you for a minute, man. You know already what we got to do, man. We've done this before. You know the song and dance. I know this is your son and this is a difficult situation, difficult time, but under certain circumstances, you and I both know how this thing supposed to go.
You guys are caught. Y'all got me in a rock between That's what the the the uh Ted telling him. You got me between a rock and a hard place. Uh Mr. Williams, you know that. And you know we Hey, we've been down these roads. Uh Big 30 is somebody got to deal with this. Is it going to be you or do I need to go talk to somebody else?
That's not good. OG OG all your time and all have you seen this type of climate where where where where where these boys is telling on family members man I seen it one time uh uh where brothers toll on each other and and they always put a brother against a brother or a mother against a son or oh I knew another time when a mother got busted with the work and she wasn't even the one doing selling it or nothing. It just so happened he left it there. He had to come back and turn himself in in order to get her released. These things happen quite often actually >> man. I I I know a guy told on his own grandmother. I al >> really >> [ __ ] the f he out.
>> Man, this thing gets crazier and crazier. Pushy now. Do do what what do you think Gucci man is thinking about all this cuz he may end up having to testify. Do you think he'll end up having to take the stand or because of the way it tr and and guess what this morning it got to me? They got a lot of video footage. It came out this morning.
Now that I think about it, they have video of it. It ain't just pictures.
They have videos of inside and outside of this whole situation. They got video footage.
>> Man, everything is is is recorded today.
>> Yeah, they got some video footage, man.
Let me cuz I had just got it. Shout out to trail talk. No pill talk.
>> No way that you even supposed to think twice about telling on post shy man.
Hell he it was his hairbrain idea and I just went broke to make sure everything we he told us one thing and we went and did something else. Him and his f troop crew, man. He he got a history of doing dumb [ __ ] >> Oh yeah. It it he Why would he do that though, man? This is This This is crazy to me. Anytime you start acting like you you you don't know no. Come on, man. You know damn well you don't supposed to be out here. Uh here it is right here. I knew I had it, man. Uh, it says right here, uh, Push Sha's lawyer begs the judge for more time to prepare for the trial after Fed surprised them with 96 gigabyte of video evidence after initially claiming they didn't have any video evidence. OG rapper Poo Sha's legal team has requested more time.
>> But what he want MORE TIME FOR? YOU BETTER TAKE THAT 15 years and take your ass on to the penitentiary. No, he wants more time to try to look and see if there's any way he can see what was on these damn videapes. OG, >> he don't need to look at [ __ ] He need to get that man out there ask for a speedy trial and hope a couple of people die. This these attorneys is just draining you out. The little bit of money that you got, this attorney going to drain the [ __ ] out of you until you broke and you still GOING TO THE PENITENTIARY. HIS now Arke Gibson is the new attorney after that other old boy left. He said rapper Poo Shice illegal team has requested additional time for the court uh after federal authorities suddenly submitted 96 gigabytes of video evidence released to the alleged in is pretty much related to the alleged incident involving Gucci Man and others.
So this >> so so what what what he think he going to change the tapes around or something?
He just want to take a look at them so he'll know if what THEY GOT >> FOR WHAT he got. That's what you need to look at him for. You need THE WHOLE THING.
>> MAYBE IT DON'T SHOW certain angles, man.
>> I don't give a damn about the angle he was there. That's all we need to see is he was there.
>> So you think the lawyer is trying to play Poo Shisty?
He almost definitely, man. And I remember when I went to the fairs and and Milton Grimes, I mean, this this I I had this other attorney, Shayla, and Shayla wanted to charge $150,000 and and he was going to give me 15 years, right?
>> Okay.
>> And Kevin Shahid went and got uh him and him and uh the mayor, Omar Bradley, went and got Milton Grley. Milton used to be sh uh shield night's attorney, right?
>> And so he sent him down there to talk to me and Milton's a black dude, you know.
So Shayla is a big federal attorney. And when when Milton came, he said, "Uh" I said, "What's up, man? We we're on a visit." He said, "Ain't nothing of it."
He said, "Be you in big trouble." I SAID, "WELL, TELL ME SOMETHING I I I DON'T KNOW." He said, "Well, [ __ ] A ain't nothing I can give you, boy. I mean this ugly about I GO BACK I CALL MAN I DON'T WANT THIS BIG RO MAD THIS [ __ ] TELL ME I GOT BIG TROUBLES I ALREADY KNOW THAT HE AIN'T TELLING ME A DAMN THING TO ENCOURAGE me right >> right >> but this [ __ ] took me to [ __ ] trial and I beat the case in trial messing with Milton Grime that told me the truth you're in trouble boy >> oh man listen man here's what you got to understand man I want you to put I want you to do this for me Put yourself in Pusha's shoes for a second and walk a walk a little ways and think how he has to think right now. He's dealing with his father just got released. He's dealing with a lawyer who now saying, "Hey man, there's video footage, man. I know you guys didn't realize that at first, but is it anything you want to tell me? And your father's gotten out.
Um, this is not looking good. We need to try to come up with a game plan to be able to deal with this." Now, they're offering you x amount of time.
What do you want me to do with this case, man? I can fight to try to get the video footage so we can understand what they have in case we have to take it all the way or I can basically uh try to go back in there and and ask if they'll give us a little bit lesser time than the whatever time they've offered already. But at any rate, this is a bad situation, man. And where are you guys are are you guys able to pay because I'm I'm going to have to have my fees in order to keep this thing going because this thing is going places we didn't expect at first.
That's what they're saying.
>> First of all, first of all, you know what YOU DID. I AIN'T got to tell you.
You ain't got If you got a good lawyer, a lawyer will never ask, "Do you want to tell me something?" Now, if if any lawyer tell you that, get rid of him that day. That's a That's a court.
That's a a a public uh pretender.
>> Pretender any mother any man. Well, look, just tell me what happened. A a good lawyer don't want to know what happened. He going to tell you what we going to do. This is what the evidence is. Now, you know what you did better than anybody else. Now I man like I told Shayla the the white attorney I said man look I would accept anything under 10 years I can't do I can't do two fingers any anything under that man that's a life sentence to me he the prosecution wouldn't go beyond 15 years man uh it'll cost $150,000 for 15 I'll fight the case myself and I was looking at 65 years in trial So a good lawyer I only thing I tell you this boy Milton as told me you you got trouble here bro. He never asked me did you do it or what?
This is what the police say. This is what the police saying or this what we got to fight. Anytime somebody man you know what the hell you did that should tell man if you can give me 15 let's get this out the way bro.
>> Oh no no nobody want to be in no damn prison for no 15 more years. He just did five years. be in there 15.
>> He just did five years.
>> And that wasn't enough for the I guess when you you you rob somebody and leave $40,000, you deserve five years.
>> Oh, G, let's be dummy.
>> Oh, G, let's be let's be very very clear on something. He left as a young man. He came back as a man who basically felt like he his deal wasn't wasn't where he wanted it to be. He felt like Gucci Man was still the street guy that used to could get robbed and and and he he wouldn't tell it on you. He felt this way. He felt like everybody in there was street and he got caught slipping.
>> Well, if it first of all, if he felt that Gucci man who's used to getting robbed, how do a person used to getting robbed stay rich?
So anybody that robbed him before this, it must have been some consequences that was bad on them.
>> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. But he he I ain't going to say he used to getting robbed, but he has robbed allegedly. And he knows that game you don't supposed to tell when something like that happened.
>> Who said YOU AIN'T SUPPOSED TO?
>> THAT'S PART OF THE STREET CODES, BRO.
You know that.
>> Some negro.
>> No talking.
>> You know what Mexicans? What Mexicans do? One I I know some dudes on the east coast. They robbed these Mexicans uh a Mexican cartel for all their drugs and like $200,000, you know.
>> Uhhuh.
>> And you know what the Mexican cartel did?
>> What' they do?
>> Call the police. They they took MY DRUGS AND THEY TOOK OFF. These are the GUYS THAT TOOK MY and went to court and testified against them.
>> Oh man, these boys getting bold out there, ain't they?
>> Oh, some dope. Boy, that's a that's a bold bold way to go out.
>> But and and you know what it end up saying?
>> What >> do the Mexicans out of Compton when they told me about their homes, you can't get mad at it because [ __ ] the only way is is is win any way you can.
