[00:00:24]President Trump has come away with some big wins after the first full day of his China summit with Xi Jinping. Daily Wire for Foreign Affairs reporter Cassie Akiva has more.

[00:00:33]>> The most noteworthy win for Trump is that according to the White House readout of the meeting, President Xi agreed that Iran should not have a nuclear weapon. The Chinese also agreed that the straight of Hormuz should be reopened without any restrictions or tolls from Iran. President Trump could also be close to a big victory in trade as well after the Chinese expressed interest in buying more oil from the United States to cut reliance on the Middle East. According to a Chinese readout of the meeting, Chi's chief concern is Taiwan. On that, Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the US policy has not changed.

[00:01:07]>> From our perspective, any forced change in the status quo and the situation that's there now would be bad for both countries. One of the things the Chinese emphasize, which we agree, is strategic stability in our relationship, a constructive relationship, but also one that establishes strategic stability so that we don't have misunderstandings that could lead to broader conflict. And so we always reiterate the point. We hear them when they say this. We always respond by saying anything that would compel or force a change in what we have now would be problematic. And that we would certainly our policies on that have not changed. It's been pretty consistent across multiple presidential administrations and remains consistent now. For the China trip, President Trump and his entourage have ditched their usual electronic devices and are in a quote digital lockdown. Daily Wire contributor Tim Pierce has more.

[00:01:52]Instead, they've taken burner phones, temporary laptops, and other stripped down devices to stay in touch with Washington and elsewhere. The precaution has become common practice among top political and business leaders. Though it often means a logistical nightmare to pass along sensitive information. It reflects the long-standing belief that any piece of technology brought into China will be hacked and spied on in the mass surveillance state.

[00:02:14]>> With the president's trip to China, Americans are getting to see the staggering extent of the Chinese surveillance state. Daily Wire reporter Zach Juul reports.

[00:02:22]>> Estimates on the number of CCTV cameras in Beijing vary widely. China doesn't release much detail about its domestic surveillance program known as Skynet. On the low end, some researchers guess there are about 1.1 million cameras in the city. But on the high end, estimates can grow to over 11 million. That's nearly one camera for every two residents. On Wednesday, Fox News's Brett Bearer gave viewers a taste of what that means in practice.

[00:02:46]>> They see everything. Uh there's nobody jaywalking here because they could get a ticket right away. In fact, our driver parked illegally for 2 minutes and he got a message on his phone that he got a ticket for about 40 bucks US because they saw it.

[00:03:02]>> Marco Rubio has previously been banned from entering China, but a legal loophole was used to get him into Beijing. Daily Wire homepage managing editor Jordan Schroeder explains, >> "Rubio was banned from China in 2020 for his role in condemning the government's treatment of the weaguer population.

[00:03:19]Although the ban is bound by Chinese law, officials in Beijing have found a workaround to get Rubio into the country. The resolution banning Rubio had the secretary's name translated into Chinese characters. In a comical bureaucratic maneuver, Chinese officials are simply changing the translation by spelling Rubio's name with a different Chinese character as written in the ban.

[00:03:40]The law can be circumvented. Melissa Chen of the Spectator explained why China opted for the loophole rather than rescending the ban. It is a culture which cannot admit any political errors, right? It's to save face like because to to actually reverse the sanctions would be to admit, oh, we kind of did something that is, you know, a mistake.

[00:04:01]>> A Chinese agent has been found guilty in what's being called a secret police station case in New York City. Daily Wire assistant editor Nathan Gay has the details. A New York man was found guilty on Wednesday of acting as an unregistered agent of the Chinese government after a trial over federal prosecutors allegations that he operated a quote secret police station on behalf of Beijing in Manhattan's Chinatown neighborhood. Federal prosecutors in Brooklyn said Lu Jing Wong helped open the so-called police station in 2022.

[00:04:29]They also said he helped China's government locate pro-democracy activists living in California. Lu was arrested in April 2023 and plead not guilty to three felony charges he faced.

[00:04:39]conspiracies to act as an unregistered foreign agent, acting as an unregistered agent of China, and obstruction of justice. A jury in Brooklyn federal court reached the verdict after a week-long trial with Lou facing up to 30 years in prison. President Trump has won a bid to delay a hefty defamation award to advice columnist Eugene Carroll.

[00:04:59]>> The Second Circuit Court of Appeals grants the president's request to delay the $83 million payment until the Supreme Court reviews his case. Trump's legal team asked the court to postpone the payment earlier this month. This came after the court rejected a petition for the full circuit to hear Trump's appeal. While the president waits on the Supreme Court, the second circuit court has ordered him to post a $7.4 million bond to cover additional interest, a request from Carol's legal team. The hefty award stems from a January 2024 Manhattan jury decision. The jury ruled Trump liable for defamation after he denied Carol's claims that he sexually abused her in a department store in 1996. A California program to give iPads to prisoners spearheaded by Gavin Newsome has yielded disturbing results.

[00:05:42]Daily Wire culture reporter Megan Basham has more. Newsome's program allocated $189 million to provide nearly all California inmates with digital tablets.

[00:05:53]In the state's own words, the program was meant to ensure quote digital equity for justiceimpacted individuals. The state claims that the iPads are tightly controlled and meant to be used for educational purposes only. An investigation from Christopher Rufo and City Journal, however, tells a different story. Rufo spoke to dozens of inmates who say that the main use of the iPads is in fact pornography. While there are content controls on the devices, inmates say that those are easily worked around.

[00:06:24]Inmates also reportedly use their internet to access X-rated chat rooms.

[00:06:28]Some inmates said that others in the prison routinely chat with minors. When reached for comment, California officials denied that any such behavior exists.

[00:07:39]>> According to Iran, its ambassador to the Vatican received a special award from the Holy Sea this month. The state-run outlet IRNA called the recognition the Vatican's highest diplomatic honor. But according to the US Embassy of the Holy Sea, that claim is false. The embassy said in a statement, quote, "This decoration is given to all accredited ambassadors to the Holy Sea after two plus years of service and has been standard practice for many years." In other words, all ambassadors to the Holy Sea receive recognition after at least 2 years in the role. The embassy statement went on to point out that contrary to Iran's claim, the Pope did not personally award the decoration. Honda Motor Company posted its first annual loss since listing on the Tokyo Stock Exchange 70 years ago. After a costly retreat from its once aggressive EV strategy, hit with more than 9 billion in EV writedowns, Honda abandoned its goal of going fully electric by 2040. It froze its major EV projects, including an 11 billion Canada buildout, and admitted demand had shifted. Honda's chief executive, Toshiro Mibe, said in a recent news conference, quote, "We were not able to respond flexibly enough. The automaker has also abandoned the notion of fully hydrogen-powered cars, which it said was an idea pushed by the Biden administration and is now pivoting back toward hybrids.

[00:08:53]>> Parents who refuse to let their three children go outside their house for 4 years due to CO fears have been sentenced to prison. Daily Wire writer Nick Shehan has the story.

[00:09:03]>> A couple has been sentenced to prison time after keeping their children inside for 4 years because of CO. The German father and American-born mother reportedly relocated their family to Spain in December of 2021 after German authorities denied their request to unenroll the children from school. For the next 4 years, the couple would keep their 10-year-old as well as 8-year-old twins locked inside the house, unable to even venture into the backyard. The reason, they stated, was fears over COVID 19. After authorities were tipped off by a neighbor, investigators discovered a harrowing scene inside the house. The three children had been living in filth, left to sleep in cribs that were far too small for their size.

[00:09:48]Authorities say that the children sustained severe mental and emotional damage as a result of the ordeal, and now suffer from social dystocia, preventing them from integrating into normal society. The couple will now be spending the next 3 years in prison and will likely never regain parental rights. A transidentifying man says that gender surgery drove him to execute his parents. Daily Wire investigative reporter Meg Brock reports. A disturbing police video released this week shows a transgender identifying man admitting to the murder of his parents because his mom wanted to stop him from having gender surgery. Washington City police footage shows a 28-year-old Colin Troy Bailey confessing to murdering his parents, Joseph and Gail, in Washington County, Utah, after police arrested him back in June 2024. Bailey, who claims to be a woman and goes by Mia, was convicted in November 2025, and sentenced to two 25-year life sentences for the murders. I told myself to uh throw away that part of me really, you know, that hesitant. I don't regret it.

[00:10:54]I hate them. The footage also shows Bailey flippantly referring to blindly shooting through a door, not caring if he injured his brother.

[00:11:04]>> Bailey said he has no regrets about murdering his parents, and that the public school should be more supportive of people who want to become transgender. and Mayo Clinic researchers have validated an artificial intelligence model capable of detecting pancreatic cancer on routine CT scans up to three years before clinical diagnosis. The radiomics based early detection model or red mod system identifies subvisual biological signatures in the pancreas while the organ still appears entirely normal to the human eye. Pancreatic ductal adino carcinoma is currently on track to become the second leading cause of cancer death in the US by 2030. Because the disease is often silent in its early stages, more than 85% of patients are diagnosed only after the cancer has metastasized. Red Mod identified 73% of pre-diagnostic cancers, often around 16 months before a formal diagnosis. That's nearly twice as effective as expert radiologists.
