DETAILS: Gabbard releases HUNDREDS of COVID lab leak documents

But on her last day as director of national intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard releases documents alleging a key figure in the fight against Corona virus here at home actually funded dangerous research at the Wuhan Institute and then tried to cover that up. Correspondent Broo Taylor reports tonight from Dallas.

[00:00:34]In one of her final acts as director of national intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard is declassifying hundreds of pages of documents she says expose a massive cover up.

[00:00:44]>> I'm releasing neverbeforeseen communications and documents that expose exactly how Fouchi worked with politicized career leadership in the intelligence community to suppress the truth about his actions. Gabbard argues the records show intelligence officials were discussing a possible lab leak as early as March of 2020. One official wrote that policymakers were hearing claims that virus was quote genetically engineered. Gabber claims analyst who supported that theory later faced career consequences. And one of the most explosive claims made is that Fouchi allegedly lied under oath to Congress in 2024. The accusation being circulated that I influence these scientists to change their minds by bribing them with millions of dollars in grant money is absolutely false.

[00:01:36]>> Gabbard claims quote Dr. Fouchy provided millions in US taxpayer dollars to fund dangerous gain of function research at the Wuhan lab. According to the documents, Eco Health Alliance received an NIH grant titled quote understanding the risk of bat corona virus emergence.

[00:01:54]The report describes the Wuhan lab as a principal laboratory for all research in China and shows $66,500 of the grant budget was spent there.

[00:02:05]Federal officials later suspended funding for Ecoalth Alliance, citing concerns over oversight. According to today's documents, the research focused on identifying and studying bat corona viruses and understanding how they could spread from animals to humans.

[00:02:23]And we did reach out to Fouchi for comment through the Georgetown Global Health Institute and haven't heard back.

[00:02:29]Meanwhile, the former head of the Ecoalth Alliance, who we should mention was fired by the organization back in 2025, called the documents a quote nothing burger. Brett, >> we'll follow it. Brooke, thank you.
