[00:00:00]Conor had a great quote. He said, "I heard a quote one time from Vincent van Gogh that really rang true to me. He said he was dedicated his life to his art and he has lost his mind in the process.

[00:00:11]When I sat and thought about that, sounded familiar, he said. He said, "I have given every single thing, every ounce of my life to this craft to perfecting it and I continue to do so.

[00:00:21]In the process, I have lost my mind. To regular society, to people who wake up at 9:00 a.m. and clock out at 5:00 p.m., they would look at me and say I have lost my mind. But he says, "I have honestly found it." In that quote, he says, "Society they would look at me and they would say I almost lost my mind, but I have found it."

[00:00:41]Well, Victor Frankl said, "It did not really matter what we expected from our life. Rather, we should look at life and see what it expected from us. We need to stop asking about the meaning of life and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk or in meditation, but in right action and right conduct.

[00:01:09]Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the task which it constantly sets for each individual. That's arete.

[00:01:25]He's describing arete perfectly as Aristotle sees it. So, you feel unmotivated?

[00:01:31]Do you feel overwhelmed? Do you feel anxious?

[00:01:36]Do you feel depressed? Do you feel numb?

[00:01:39]That is because you're not living as Aristotle saw arete. You're living like a plant. You're living merely just to live. You're not living to fulfill any purpose.
