Expeditionary air defense systems like SNC's BRAWLR platform are designed as flexible, open-architecture systems of systems that can incorporate multiple kinetic and non-kinetic effectors, network across different platforms (air, ground, surface), and rapidly evolve with new technologies to address diverse threats in expeditionary operations.

SOF Week 2026: How SNC Is Rethinking Expeditionary Air Defence for SOF OperationsAdded:
Coming to a venue like this to be able to demonstrate a system like the Brawler actually comes to that organization that is represented by those individuals who are generally going to be the tip of the spear. That's our soft community. They see things first. They understand first.
They have to sometimes decide first.
>> [snorts] >> THE OPERATORS DON'T JUST COME here to say, "Hey, this is a reunion of sorts for us annually." This is their ability to interface with the companies that are investing millions of dollars of their own, that are taking these large contracts, and be able to have an input to those companies to say, "Here's what's important to us. Here's what our knowledge and understanding is of the current threat." That opens up unbounded thinking for a whole new realm of ideas and a whole new realm of consideration.
So, our Brawler platform is this one element of something that we refer to as EADS or Expeditionary Area Air Defense Systems. It's a system of systems architecture where SNC as a mission systems integrator looks at the big picture. We try to understand understand what the real needs are of the operational environment. So, the Brawler itself actually is very flexible in that it can incorporate multiple effectors, both kinetic and non-kinetic. So, we can take on different types of threat in different types of environment. The other thing we've done is we've created the the ability to network these systems. Not only between air defense platforms themselves like the Brawler, but we're bringing in other capabilities like other companies' air defense capabilities that can be plugged into that network. Then you plug and play more of the Brawlers. You plug and play more of the domain type integrations, whether it's on a platform, whether it's on a truck, whether it's on a surface vehicle, or mounted in other locations.
So, SNC took on the challenge of defining and developing a system that evolves rapidly with new technologies being an open architecture system. It's not the satisfying part of the job to say that we are making these evolutions.
The satisfying part of the job is is that we're actually contributing to making the world a safer place.
It's in the respect with how we're doing the job that we're doing and why we're doing the job that we're doing. We try to focus more on the why because the why around the mission is what motivates us to continue thinking about how can we get better?
