Offgrid update & bad transmission

[00:00:00]Well, hello, people.

[00:00:04]So, I just got done removing the front drive shaft from the uh the Chevy.

[00:00:15]And uh I did have a bad U-joint at the transfer case. There's no doubt about that.

[00:00:24]It's [snorts] uh it's a surprise that it made it this far.

[00:00:29]Um even though I removed the drive shaft, it didn't do any good.

[00:00:36]The transmission has gone kaput.

[00:00:39]It does a whole lot of spinny spinny on the drive shaft and uh even more grindy uh gear grinding noises. And uh so that's just telling me that the the transmission is is shot. So, you might notice I'm wearing a helmet here.

[00:01:03]I do still have the Honda.

[00:01:08]And I have a new rear tire coming for this in the next week.

[00:01:13]So, until then, I do have people in my community that'll be available to uh take me to the grocery store.

[00:01:27]And uh it'll be a good opportunity for me to study more of the word and uh come closer to God. So, I'm going to continue to do what I've been doing.

[00:01:45]I'm going to work the the market.

[00:01:49]I'm going to go to church every Sunday.

[00:01:52]I'm going to do work for the church every Tuesday.

[00:01:57]And every Thursday, I'm going to do men's Bible study.

[00:02:00]Every Friday I'm going to do group Bible study with the pastor.

[00:02:04]And what I'm not going to do is I'm not going to ask for a handout.

[00:02:10]So, wow.

[00:02:15]I guess things aren't so bad.

[00:02:18]A transmission is a transmission. I still have my motorcycle and things are still okay.

[00:02:28]I guess uh that's about it for now.

[00:02:33]Um the motorcycle won't go more than you know, 30 miles an hour because the spokes in the rim are a couple spokes are snapped in the rear rim and it's got a bit of a death wobble.

[00:02:46]So, we're trying to be real careful and uh I won't be going too far.

[00:02:54]If I do, it'll only be at about 25 miles an hour.

[00:03:00]So, like I said, got a new rim and tire on the way for the bike and I'll be I'll be mobile very soon. I'll be able to run to the grocery store myself.

[00:03:12]I uh I got plenty of food. Um probably a month or so's worth anyways.

[00:03:19]So, I might not even have to ask anybody for any help uh by the time this tire and rim get here.

[00:03:28]That'll be a you know, half hour job to change out that uh tire and switch over the the hub and I'll I'll connect the brake lines and all that. So, >> [snorts] >> let me just give you a quick view of uh my my roadside attraction here.

[00:03:48]So, it's still a beautiful day.

[00:03:53]And uh Josh is doing okay. I hope everybody else is doing good, too.
