All right, let's talk about the weather.
Angela's in for Sean at 4:00, pulling double duty. Not a bad day to to have to do that. It's pretty quiet around here, huh?
>> a nice quiet day. Yesterday would Well, he pulled double duty with the weather and all [laughter] the traffic. There was that big accident on 70. There were accidents all over the place because of the rain yesterday.
>> Yeah, good things things that good thing that things have calmed down a little bit.
>> Yes, nothing really going to slow you down if you're going to be out and about this evening. I would just take an extra sweatshirt or a jacket and keep that jacket handy for tomorrow morning. We're going to be down into the 30s. This is the latest with the satellite and radar.
Sean was tracking a couple of sprinkles around the noon hour north. That's all we've had on radar and after record rainfall yesterday, we needed the break. Just a little bit of sunshine starting to peek through the cloud cover. This is a view from our north side camera. We have 56° in Indianapolis, a west-northwest wind at 13. 57 so far the high for the day. That is much, much cooler than our average of 71. 44 this morning and a reminder, it's going to be colder than that out the door tomorrow morning. We're forecasting lows in the 30s. Not record low temperatures. Those record lows are are near 30°. We have had 300s of an inch of rain since midnight. Sunset this evening is at 8:44. As I mentioned, 300s, that's a good break. We needed that after the record rainfall yesterday. That's one of the weather impacts. We picked up almost 2 in of rain in the city of Indianapolis. Now, there is still some lingering lowland flooding. So, your creeks, your rivers, your streams are all running high. And if you live in an area that that gets high water when we get the heavy rain, you're going to be dealing with that for a couple of days.
More rain chances are in the forecast, although nothing very heavy, nothing very widespread, and no washouts in the 7-day. Morning low temperatures, this is a concern for tomorrow morning.
We're going to be in the 30s. Cold enough for some patchy frost. We don't expect that to be widespread. And temperatures will climb with a mix of sun and clouds. Mid-50s by midday. And we're forecasting highs upper 50s close to 60 tomorrow afternoon. Future track 13 will time the arrival of those rain chances that I mentioned. This is tomorrow at 8:00 a.m. Mix of sun and clouds through early afternoon. This is 5:00 p.m. You can see that rain chance arrive for the northern half of the state. Some spotty showers may be a rumble of thunder. Thursday afternoon, Thursday night. By Friday morning, we are in the clear. Make those outdoor plans early in the day. I'd say anytime after early afternoon Friday, a pop-up shower will be possible. You can see that here. Friday at 5:00 p.m. Not everybody gets the rain, but there will be some rain around Friday late afternoon into Friday night. That's Friday at 11:00 p.m. That exits as we get into the start of the weekend, and we do expect some sunshine on Saturday afternoon. And temperatures that will start to warm. 74 on Saturday. We still have the rain chance in that Sunday forecast. Stay with us. We'll keep you updated on the timeline. Right now, it looks to be perhaps early in the day.
Again, we'll keep you updated on the timing so you can make those outdoor plans for Mother's Day. Uh, 60 tomorrow.
Some sunshine early. Some patchy frost.
Then a late day rain chance. Late day rain chance Friday that will linger Friday night. Saturday is dry. 74. Rain chance on Sunday. 68. We'll stick with highs in the 60s. And remember, average is now low 70s. So, we're still going to be cooler than that Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday of next week.
