Greetings. Greetings. My name is Aaron Seott. Everybody calls me Seott. Welcome to the show. It's Monday Q&A. A little bit of a shorter live stream tonight uh because I have to get packed for um Chattanooga.
We're doing a little uh family vacation.
We're leaving tomorrow at around two.
Um, and I've still got lots of stuff to pack. I I I haven't even started packing my clothes yet. Um, so yeah, I got some work to do. Uh, but we're going to hang for a little while. Uh, you guys are going to fly the six batteries for me tonight. We're not going to stream long enough for me to fly six. Um, so it's on you. Leaving it on you to get them six batteries in today.
Um, and uh, we're going to talk about the Bando Turtles, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Bando Turtles. Uh, I've moved a couple things around. I took the, um, the Flywoo wide and put it into uh, this fella while I'm waiting for the, um, different AIO to come in uh, to put the Caillou Mini back together since it blew up. Um, so yeah, hold on. I forgot something, of course.
And there we go. It's a little better. Um, and so yeah, we're going to kind of talk about where these two guys are headed, where they're at now. Uh, I'm bringing them with me. We're going to take some weights. I'm really curious to see what the difference is uh between 11:03 122 and a half um regular 04 light Flywoo wide angle 04 light should be about the same as DJI 04 light. Uh so yeah, take a quick look at these two and then um in Chattanooga, if all goes well, I'll fly them a bunch and then when I come back, we'll uh take a look at the difference in some of the flight footage. Something I've noticed uh recently is that one of the reasons the And by the way, I'm just screwing motors onto this little um uh Baby Turtle V7 down below the camera here. One of the things I've noticed lately, uh, which I think explains why, uh, I don't have much of a problem flying the O4 Light without the wide angle lens, um, is that I typically put that camera system onto smaller, slower builds. Uh, and the the lower field of view if you fly slower actually kind of makes it appear as if you're flying faster. Um, which is kind of cool. Uh, but yeah, now that I've got So, I had this 2 and 1/2 inch Bando Turtle together with the the regular 04 light that I've now moved over to this 2-in Bando Turtle. Um, the Bando Turtle frames, by the way, are uh were have been designed by uh Sub250GFPV.
Uh, that is the name of uh his main Instagram account and the the the the like manufacturer name that he puts the that he builds the frames under. Um, he is also sub 100GF FPV, which actually described these builds. These builds are all sub just barely. Some of them are just barely, but yeah, they're all sub 100 grams. Um, and if anybody has seen him active anywhere in the last couple of months, let me know. Uh, because I I'm I'm hoping that nothing happened. He he kind of just disappeared. He was very very active on Instagram. Um, I was talking to him about a bunch of stuff and then, um, yeah, a couple months ago everything just kind of stopped and and I don't I don't know anybody that's really I haven't really been asking uh but uh yeah, I don't I don't know. Um, so if anybody has seen him posting anywhere uh yeah, let us know. I just want to know. I just want to know he's okay. you know, when when people just straight up vanish. Um, that's a little scary. Uh, so yeah, that's where these frames are from. You can get them from uh CNC Madness or CNC Drones um under the the Frame Designer Sub250GF FPV. Uh, and so they're really really nice frames. I I I really do like them. Um, I don't know if I like them better than like this style frame that he has where it's like a traditional frame where the camera is down here in between the front standoffs. Um, the Bando Turtle frames have the big old camera pod off the front. And on one hand, maybe having the camera hanging out the front like that in um TPU will give it a little bit of soft mounting. Maybe I leave my leave my head still and just move my body. Uh but I'm kind of worried about sending a stick right up the middle and blowing the camera up. Um, you know, these '04 systems are not cheap and so I feel a little bit more comfortable uh with this style of frame and and he does make two and two and a half inch. I'm holding one um where it's that more traditional style. Carbon fiber and aluminum standoffs are what's protecting the camera rather than just TPU. Um but yeah, I don't know. Uh, I have not I've had the two and a half inch Bando Turtle together for a while and it did not seem to be any better than anything else in terms of um, uh, the gyro data being any cleaner. But to be honest, it's looking like none of that's really going to matter anyway here. Um, it's looking like between Jamie Flies FPV and Gyrlow, uh, we're going to have the ability to get perfectly stabilized flight footage from 04 Light, 04 Pro, old gyro, new gyro. Shouldn't really matter. Um, I had a uh a super chat fund here that got filled up on yesterday's live stream for a uh Flywoo well for a DJI wide angle 04 light. Um, and I placed that order last night and I did the order for the all the bells and whistles set up. Um, which means we've got a DJI O4 Lite coming. Sorry, DJI O4 Lite wide coming uh with the uh the the better gyro, the um the old school ' 04 Pro gyro is going to be on there. Um and so that should be super interesting. we'll be able to to compare that head-to-head with the Flyw Wide setup, uh, which is now discontinued.
Um, something that I have learned through this process that is very annoying, um, is that the FlyWoo wide camera, uh, the Flywoo wide '04 light camera is, uh, slightly different dimensions than the DJI 04 light wide setup.
Uh, and so the ND filters are not backwards compatible.
The ND filters are uh sold out, discontinued for the Flyw Wide. So, anybody that has a Flyw Wide, for the love of God, take good care of your ND filters because you'll never be able to replace them. You you'll never be able to get them again. And the the I I believe the O4 the DJI O4 light wide is it's slightly bigger and so the um Flywoo filters are smaller and so if you try to now get the DJI filters and put it under your Flywoo wide, it's not going to work because the filters are going to be too big. Um, you can run the flywheel filters on the DJI O04 light wide. Um, you just need to put like a little dab of E6000 or something like that to hold it in there, otherwise it's going to eject out. It does like clip in, but then it it kind of moves around a little bit. Um, and so yeah, if uh if if anybody so um uh Rotor Village up in Canada is the only place that I could find that has the Flywoo um 04 light wide ND filter set in stock.
Uh so yeah, get that now. And if you if if you're bouncing around the internet and you see the the Flywoo wide angle stuff or the Flywoo wide angle camera, the the ND filters or the camera in stock, uh, post it over on our Discord because I know there's somebody out there that's about to just be totally [ __ ] out of luck with the fact that the the Flywoo wide stuff is is seemingly gone. I I wish that they hadn't done that. I wish they'd given us a little bit more time, but I I get it. Um I do get it. And so, yeah, there you go. Little public service announcement for us. Um other than that, uh Madste uh review of the DJI 04 Lightwide um looked pretty good.
It It seems like I I didn't uh I didn't watch the whole thing. I only watched like the couple first couple minutes, but it it certainly seems like it's it's just the Flywide, but maybe even better. Um because it's not like DJI making something and then Flyw g, you know, gashing it opened. Uh so yeah, it's it's looking like the the new DJI O4 Lite wide is a hell of a camera system.
Of course it is. I mean, the the '04 Lite is is a hell of a camera system.
Look at Look at Look at how absolutely small and compact and tight this little build is. Good lord. This is the uh Baby Turtle Pro. This is the Baby Turtle Pro. Uh which you can put the um the O4 light into. Uh, you cannot put you will never be able to put the ' 04 wide into this because it won't fit between these front standoffs. Um, but yeah, the the regular 04 andor analog cameras of course.
So yeah, uh, in the chat, Jimmy flies up views first. Newborn was next. Frank, Dr. Nicholas, Dul, Jux, uke, Fizz, my dad, what's up? Uh, level up Zout. Uh, Phillip J. Tux again, Matthew Wgner, Frank, Dr. Nicholas, Fizz, Chuck P, uh, Daytona Jim with a 999 999 super chat. He says, "What the f is up? Sorry, feeling rowdy." Uh, thank you so much, Daytona Jim. Very, very kind of you. Uh, Mupshot Capital C WKFPV. Daytona Jim with another five $5 super chat. He says, "Hey, brother. Uh, I actually have a question. 1303.5 3S 2 and 12 in.
Should I get a 20 amp uh or or just get the gamma 45 AIO? The gamma 45 um would not be a terrible choice because you can build it into bigger stuff. Uh the problem with the gamma 45 is no blackbox, which is kind of obnoxious in 2026.
Uh, but yeah, if you did that build and then down the road you wanted to bump that up to like a 4S build with even more powerful motors, 1504 for example, um, or 1405 even, which is what I'm using that AIO on, uh, you'd be totally fine. Whereas a 20 amp AIO, I would not want to put all the way up into 4S land.
Um, even though it should with with big uh beefy motors, even though like it should uh as we find out time and time again, buying a a 20 amp per channel uh uh ESC and then putting 70 amps through it, they tend to catch on fire.
Um, so yeah, you want to pad those numbers uh a bit. Uh but yeah, if that build is always going to be 1303.53S 2 and a half inch, then a 20 amp should be absolutely fine. Um and you can probably almost certainly find a 20 amp AIO with blackbox on board, which is really nice to have.
Uh who else is here?
It's Brandon, capital C. Did we get everybody? I think we got everybody.
I think this microphone got moved a little bit. No. What's happening with this mic? Why is it so Hold on.
Uh, is it in properties? It's not in properties. Where the hell's the When I don't change things for a while in OBS, I forget where they are. Uh, where are the advanced audio options? I found them. Uh, sure. MV7.
Yeah, that's weird. I I've always had this boosted by plus 2db, but all right, that should be a little bit better. Check. Check. Check. Check.
Still not enough. Hold on.
Boost it by 4 dB. That should be good.
Yeah, much better. Okay, cool. Um, all right. Type at Seott FPV to talk directly to me in the chat. Go to seatfpv.com and join the Patreon or buy something from the Etsy store. Um, and just use their affiliate links all the time. Do it. Matthew Wgner says, uh, at CFPV, crazy haboo hitting here. So throwing my 65mm builds into it. All I had for charged batteries. Crazy haboo hitting.
Haboo.
Crazy haboo hitting here. What does that mean?
The ghoul says, "Uh, FSPD's intro outro always lift lifts my spirits after a long workday." Me too, man.
Uh, Zout calling out the soft audio.
Thank you, dude. Trigger says, "Uh, these04 builds are quite ridiculous, but I just can't get away from these little analog buggers. Uh, the 2in rigs at 85ish grams are the closest we've gotten to a 5 in in your backyard, I feel." Um, yeah, the two and a halfs are good, too, but the the two is a smaller parachute.
Uh, and so it tends to throw a little bit farther. It's just hard because uh the a lot of these 2-in frames are only threebolt motor mounting and so that limits us to like 1003s, 113s. Um, but the Max Frames M2 is coming with the carbon fiber rotated 45 degrees. Uh, the the current I I actually talked to Max last night about it. And, uh, the run that either is being cut right now or just got finished um, is going to have the carbon fiber going the length of the arms. Uh, and so that's a really big deal because his frame has the dual mounting. It's got the four-bolt mounting and the three-bolt mounting.
Uh, and so, yeah, I mean, it's had that uh, and that's why, uh, his his build that he sent me. Uh Max very kindly I I bought the frame uh and then Max very kindly kindly sent me this JHMCU uh AIO and these HDLRC motors. I was I was a little bit d when we were talking I was mentioning how like I've had a really hard time with HDLRC.
Um and I thought that like 1103s 103s were enough motor. Um, and he was like, "Nah, dude. You You gotta I'm" He was like, "I'm gonna send you th this AIO and these motors to force you to check them out." And I'm really glad that he did because he was absolutely right.
These um these 122 and 1 halfs are not too much motor. Um, but all he had to do was tell me that these 122 and a half motors had a 2 millimeter motor shaft down below the bell, and I would have been like, "Done." that that um that would have been his uh mega salesperson moment and and I would have actually started buying these 122 and a half motors. But um yeah, massive shout out to him for um uh hooking a brother up with this AIO and these motors. Uh this thing has been together. It's analog.
I've been railing it around. Uh it's an absolute blast. It it's currently set up in like the mega mega mega durability.
um uh configuration, which is these EMAC Avan triblades, which are a little too heavy and they're not the best balanced of these 2-in propellers, but they are just stupidly stupidly durable. Like, these propellers are ridiculous. So, like when I crash this thing, it just ding ding ding just bounce bounce bounce bounce and it's completely fine. It's got the the the thicker motor shaft from it being a 1202 and a half, the really strong props. His frame is very strong even with the carbon fiber not going the length of the arms. Um like yes, the the frame is bendy because of that. Um but the bendiness actually the the frame is designed in a way where it is strong enough for the weave not being correct. And so, um, it just, yeah, it's it's just an absolute basher.
It's really really cool. Um, the the the arms being a little floppy does give you some peaks in the blackbox logs. There there is a resonance, a frame resonance.
Um, I'm willing to bet that with the um that the new the the the newer version of this frame will knock that out. I am going to test that. I am going to fly fly the get another blackbox log with this and then uh right when that frame shows up and then I'm just going to take this whole thing and just pull it straight out of this and drop it into that frame and we'll do another log. Um, I'm really excited about that because like there have been there have been plenty of frames in the past decade uh in FPV that have had the the carbon fiber not running the length of the arms. Uh, I'm looking at you Armatan.
the the new the new owner of Armatan actually understands how carbon fiber works and is fixing this. But the previous owner of Armatan, Chris, absolutely refused to um believe in what every single person that knows anything about carbon fiber was saying um which is that this there that it's stronger with the length um in the directionality of the fibers. Um, and so like all of the Armatan frames had this issue. Um, and they all were rough. They were um, yeah, it's not the right way to to set it up in in most people in my opinion. Um, and so this is going to be really really cool to be but like usually a frame gets set up like that and that's it. Like maybe the next frame that they design they'll they'll figure this out. Um, in 10 years, I don't know of a single situation where we've been able to get the exact same frame with the carbon fiber rotated 45°.
So, this will be really, really cool to get to specifically see the difference that it makes. Um, and I'm going to try to test it on the same day and all that jazz to to keep everything the same. Um, and then, uh, that Max M2 frame is actually more than likely going to replace. Um, in actuality, what's going to happen is this build is going to get torn apart.
Um, because this I screwed up when I was when I was moving these two builds around last night. Um, I didn't realize that. I realized it, but I I just it just didn't get through my [ __ ] big dumb brain. Um, which is that the 2-in Bando Turtle has XT30, which is kind of silly. I would rather run the smaller, lighter BT3.0 batteries on it, and the 2 and a half has BT3.0. So, what's actually going to happen is that this can this thing's going to get torn down.
Um, and this AIO with the BT3.0 0 is going to go into the Max Frames M2 with the um the new version of it. Uh so that I can run 122s.
Um and the 122 and 1 halfs that I'm going to run are going to be these GERC 15,000 KVs so that I can run these GemFin 2015 byblades. And I'm really really really excited about that. Um, this these 2-in setups, I just I'm loving them so much. Uh, but they're a little bit lighter than the two and a half inch setups, which makes them not handle the wind quite as good.
Going from a triblade to a bblade is going to help them handle the wind. Um, and yeah, I have really, really, really high hopes uh for that. And so I'm I'm I'm excited. I'm really really excited to do that. Uh Max Streams M2. I I really wish I I really hope everything's okay with Sub250GF FPV. Um and he can come back because him and I were the last thing we were talking about actually is is getting his uh four-bolt mounting for for his frames. Um there's nothing wrong with the Max M2 frame. Uh but it would be nice to have more. This is the Max M2, I believe, is the only 2-in frame of this style. Uh, where we have the option of Man, my eyes are so [ __ ] itchy. I have not had itchy eyes for as long as I can remember. I go to that optometrist appointment at Lens Crafters and now my eyes are itchy as [ __ ] all day, every day, ever since. Um, yeah, it would be nice to have more than one option. and the the Max Frames M2 has the camera uh in between the front standoffs and so we'll never be able to get a Flywoo wide in here. I don't think that matters that much because the 2-in builds are going to be a little bit slower and so the regular lighter 04 light should be totally fine in them. Um but it would be nice to have that option. There is now a Max a new Max Frames frame. Uh I forget what it's called. It might be called the M2.5.
Um it's a 2.5 in frame that is designed for the wide angle camera. But I'm trying to stick with with 2 in. I'm trying to keep these things absolutely as small as possible so that they have the the the smallest footprint in the air so that they get hit a little bit less hard by the wind. Um, so yeah, but I mean to be really honest, it kind of makes sense to have um to have the 2-in rigs be on the '04 light without the wide angle lens and then the 2 and 12 inch builds um are on that. But yeah, uh the last missing piece of all this and and kind of the the other reason that I really wish that we could get a fourbolt uh Bando Turtle 2-in is that I really want to try to figure out a way on these guys on these 2-in rigs how to use this FlyWoo 04 light camera housing because this has um a molded in ba I mean the whole thing is molded but it's got a bayonet mount. molded in up front uh where you can put the FlyWoo ND filters which have also unfortunately been discontinued. So if you have and you are not using any of the the Flywoo ND filters that are meant for this, the little round bastards that just rotate on, uh I will buy them from you. I I really only need the ND8 and the ND16.
But yeah, they've been discontinued or if you see them anywhere, let me show you the the ND filters that I'm talking about so that just in case you see them.
Flyw04 ND filter.
Um, yeah. So, it's not these. They're perfectly round. I think this is it.
Yeah, this is them. Tell me they're in stock. Damn it. No, they're out of stock. Uh, yeah, this is them. They're just these round little fellas. Um, and it doesn't specifically say it here, but yeah, they come in this little case. If you see these guys in stock anywhere, please do let me know because I I I have a full set and they do stay on the lens.
Um unlike most other ND filters that come firing off the first crash you get into. Uh but I will certainly like scratch the [ __ ] out of these. Um, and like so yeah, the Bando Turtle, if we could get this thing with fourbolt motor mounting, I'm sure that there would be a way to have some sort of a mount that hangs off the front here that would incorporate this little guy and just hang this little fella off the front.
Something like that, right? And then we could get ND filters there. There's no way to get ND filters on this Bando Turtle 2 in or uh the Max Frames M2. Realistically, there's not a great way of getting ND filters onto TPU. TPU is too squishy um for any ND filter to hold onto it properly. Um this thing is our our key to sort of happiness. Um, I guess I mean there's maybe a chance that some sort of amount could be designed for the M2 to make this thing work. Um, but the problem is this is wider than the front standoff.
So like these screws would have to sit behind the front standoffs and then like might be running into issues of like No, I guess it's that might actually work to be honest.
is the housing it I think the housing itself is too wide. Damn it. Yeah, the housing is too wide. This will never work on the M2. Um, but yeah, that's kind of the that's kind of where we're at. Or I don't know, maybe uh maybe I would love I I I would prefer to like work with Max and have maybe a version of this frame designed that works with this. Um because his frame is awesome and with the carbon fiber running down the lengths of the arms, I think it's damn near perfect. Um, worst case scenario, if nobody cares about this, uh, you never know. Maybe I'll, uh, see if I can figure out how to have two CFPV frames, but I got to get the first one done first. Uh, so yeah.
Uh, Striker says, "By the way, uh, how do you get rid of that nasty full throttle shaking on the 2.5 in rigs?" I've not had any of that. Uh for reference I'm running RCM power 122 and a half 11,500s on gem fan 2520 with happy model 20 amp.
Um first and foremost that is too much that's too much KV on too small of a motor. Um and so that's a part of the problem there. Uh I've got 122 and a halfs on here but I think they're only 10,000.
Yeah, they're only 10,000 KV. Um, and so yeah, you're asking for too much uh from that size of a motor. Uh, that and and also that propeller is way too pitchy. You you want to drop down to a uh the 2512 propeller. Um that uh that Gemfan 2520 is like the fourth I believe best balanced propeller. It's It's just barely balanced enough. Um, these 2512s are uh are better balanced. The HQs are the best balanced. Um, so yeah, there's a bunch of things that uh that you can try changing, but I've never had that. I I I've never had any full throttle shaking. Um, if you want to try to fix the problem within Betaflight, TPA is what, um, reduces the PIDs at full throttle, which if it's not a physical vibration is is going to be what takes care of it. Um, weights between these two between these two Bando Turtle 2 in unfortunately on the um, not on the thickest carbon fiber. I ordered the thickest carbon fiber, which I believe is 2 1/2 mm. Uh, but they accidentally cut this in 2 millimeter. I noticed this last night when I was bolting up motors to it the first time and the motor screws were way too long. Um, well, not way too long, but a half a millimeter too long, which matters on these tiny little things. Um, and so I I got the micrometer out and yeah, this is only 2.1 millimeter thick carbon. Every single other sub 250G frame I've ever bought, I've gotten the 2 and 12 mm thick carbon option. um which is actually like 2.7 millimeters thick. Um and the the uh motor screws that I use on most of these are perfect for that. Um I was able to find Tiny Whoop the the Tiny Whoop silver Beta FPV motor screws.
These kind of work, but they're a little bit too short. So I loctited the hell out of them, and I'm gonna have to check them over and over again as I fly this thing. Um which is super annoying. Uh, but I messaged uh CNC drones and they apologized and they're going to cut uh one of the proper ones and send it out.
Um, so yeah. Uh, but this is on Akila 20 beta FPV 1103 11,000 KV motors. Um, 04 light. Uh, this is the the Taker AIO. Get is it GERC? I think it's Garc. Taker AIO. Um, and then some of the sub250G prints.
This little fella is 48 grams right on the nose. And then we've got the 2 and 1/2 inch Bando Turtle.
Jesus 71.
What a difference.
48 versus 71 and a half. Actually, just call it 71. Um, this has the FlyWoo wide, obviously the much bigger TPU camera mount. Um, 122 and a half get C motors, 2512 propellers. Uh, motor screws in the propellers. These motors have the provisions for T-mount screws, which I really like. Um, these motors do not, which is a little sketchy. Uh, BT3.0, which is actually a little bit lighter.
Same sort of style antenna. Um, and then this guy has the uh Flywoo Goku white beautiful AIO. Um, so very very very similar builds.
Um, same VTX, same weight AIO. This one's actually a little bit lighter with the battery lead than this. Um, heavier motors, obviously, heavier propellers and the T-mount screws. Eight T-mount screws, right? Um, and then obviously the bigger frame. Um, I did not have time today to fly these back toback. I really, really wanted to.
Um, but I will in Chattanooga. Uh, the difference in weight. I didn't realize that these were these were that different. Um, I thought there'd be a maybe like a 15 gram weight difference between these two at max. Um, I did not expect it to be uh 20 plus grams heavier. That's crazy.
Um, but I'm not afraid of the weight with with these things. The like it is so easy on these open prop builds uh right now to get all the power in the world. like uh there's not there's not a great reason to pay much attention at all to wait uh when you're building these things. Like the design of the build kind of like forces it to be lightweight. Like that probably sounds weird, but um it's true. like just this will not you can't really build this to be too heavy as long as you go with a half as long as you go with like a 1003 1103 um or 1202 and a half. Um and so yeah, don't worry about it. Don't worry about the weight. I'm actually trying to add weight. I'm trying to put the biggest motors I possibly can on this to add weight uh because that makes it deal with the wind a lot better. Um, and so yeah, stop worrying about weight with these. Just the components that you have to use um force it to be lightweight. That's a weird thing to say, but yeah, like it these just end up being um very very light. So yeah, crazy thing to be coming out of my mouth. I know. Uh because I always kind of preach like build as light as possible and then you'll have extra weight for a bigger battery or whatever. Um but yeah, these builds are so small and so compact and so tight that you don't have room for making them heavier. Um and like especially with the three the the 2-in builds with the three-bolt motor mounting, there aren't motors that are too big. You literally can't put a motor that's too big on there. Um, which is kind of wild, but good problem to have, I guess.
Uh, Matthew Wgner says, "Haboo equals dust storm. Throttle punch clip in six batteries." Ah, okay. So, you're flying in a dust storm. Jesus, that's chaos. Lumpshot says, "Uh, I was going to appropriate or maybe misappropriate the 122 11000 motors uh from my first lithium ion 1S Recon. Uh, put it on the 2S 85mm walk snail Whoop.
Currently running on 1002 because that's what it had uh when it was 75.
Yeah, 1002 is a little too small for a uh 2-in propellered build. Uh when you get up to 2in props, unless you're going to do like a 2-in byblade, then you can get away with it. Uh but even on a 2-in blade, you want to get up to a 3 millimeter tall stator. 1003 1103 um are going to pair a lot better with those um with with 2-in propellers.
Um 1202 is going to be great, and I'll show you why.
Here comes a link to this in the chat.
This is such a nice little online tool.
So, we're going to do What are you at now? Now you're right now you're on 10:02. So we're going to do 10:02 and then we're going to do No, no, no. We're going to do 11:02.
What?
Okay. Uh, and then we're going to do um 1003 and we're going to go 11:03.
And then we're going to go 1202.
And we might as well also do 1202.5.
All right. So, what we're looking at here, well, that doesn't work because we can't see the motor size. Hold on.
Um, all right. There we go. So, uh, the volume is pretty much going to be how much power the motor makes. The surface is going to be how cool the motor runs.
When the motor heats up, it's going to make less power. and be a lot less efficient. Um, and so the surface area absolutely does matter, but the volume is the main thing that's going to make more and more power on the motor. And so we see 1002. So let's just look at volume. So 1002, 157, 1102, 190, 1003, 236, 11:03, 285.
Fairly even steps right up the ladder, right? 40 to 50 uh uh uh millimeter cubed jumps each time, right? From 10:02, 11:02, 10:03, 11:03. When we get to 1202, um that does not happen. That the 122 is actually si more similar to the 1003, but it's actually a little bit smaller than the 103. But what's cool about the 122 is this. It's going to stay really cool. This is a lot of surface area.
This has the same This has more surface area than the 1103 does. Um, not quite as much obviously as the 122 and 12, but yeah. So, the 122 is going to make roughly the same amount of power as the 1003, which is great. 103s make awesome power, plenty of power for a 2-in triblade or bylade. Um, so yeah, that 12v2 is actually going to be a a a pretty slick motor because it's going to stay really cool. By the motor staying cool, it's going to be super predictable. Every single time you go full throttle, that motor is going to be nice and cool and it's going to give you the same amount of power. Um, as motors make more power without being wide enough to stay cool, you can like go full throttle, the motor will get real hot, come off the throttle, go back to full throttle, and get a lot less power because the motor is overheated and the magnets hate being hot. Um, so yeah, those 122s uh should be really good on a on a 2-in Whoop. And uh 11,000 KV is just enough.
It's just enough for a trib blade. It's probably not going to be enough for a blade. So, um, yeah, the and the best of the 2-in triblades are the HQ T 2x2x3.
Yep. HQT2X 2x3 um are the props that you want. They're the best balanced. Uh, and they just perform awesome.
There you go, brother. Philip says, "Inter interesting. I always thought a triblade was better in the wind than a bylade." Nope. Well, I mean, it depends.
If better in the wind to you means that they have more power, um, then yeah, triblades are always going to make more power than by blades. Uh, but for me when when it comes to flying in the wind, better for me, right, this is why we don't use the word better because it it just it doesn't make any sense. Um, but personally, my version of better in the wind is that the wind doesn't push the quad as much because that makes it harder to shoot gaps and just in general it, you know, sucks. Uh, but yeah, uh, it all depends on on what you're looking for.
Um, and it's a super easy like explanation, right? Like a a byblade has one entire less blade for the wind to hit, right? Like if you're flying along and a cross breeze comes, the cross breeze is going to hit everything, right? So you're you're flying along like this and the cross breeze is going to hit everything that you can see right now, right? Everything that you can see, that wind is going to hit and push. And one of the things that you can see are three blades, right? Three blades on the entire thing. God forbid you're up like this or like, god forbid, you're flying into the wind, right? Like we've got 50% more blade um surface area for the wind to hit with a triblade versus a bblade.
Um and so yeah, bylades are always better in the wind.
Uh, a single blade propeller with a counterwe would be the absolute best, right? But nobody really makes those.
People make them out of blades when the when one of the blades pops off, but it's really hard to get that counterwe.
Um, perfect.
Ryan Sedat says, "Greetings." Seir says, "Watching in double time to catch up.
Salutation CFV and you rip stars."
What's a rip star?
Uh Jose says, "If you had to create a 2S freestyle build with 1031 14,800 KV robo robo motors, uh what would be your creation?"
Uh bylades for sure. These gem fan 2015s.
Uh because 14,800 KV is too much for triblades.
Uh for two triblades. Um, yeah, definitely a 2-in build. Uh, it depends. I don't know if those 1003s are threebolt motors or fourbolt motors. I suspect that they're threebolt motors.
And so that's going to that's going to change the frame selection. Max Frames M2 would be a great option. Uh, the baby the the Bando Turtle, the baby turtle 2inch frames, they'd be a great suggestion. um VTX. I mean that the for me it's 04 light, but you know that's that's just me. Um and that's pretty much the whole build.
The the AIO doesn't really matter. If you can find an AIO in stock, buy it as soon as you possibly can because it's about to be out of stock along with everything else in FPV. Um so yeah, that's pretty much a whole build. Unbelievably, these little things there's like no components. It's crazy.
Uh, my dad says, "I just bought you a set of those filters on eBay." Holy [ __ ] You're welcome. They're on eBay.
I I abs I love eBay so much. Uh, I'm on eBay all the time. I completely forget sometimes that there's lots of FPV stuff on eBay. Um, Flywoo Andy filter.
That's should be open-ended enough. Um, yeah, look at that. Cool. So, you can still get them on. So, yeah, people, these are discontinued. If if you want to run these in the future, snag them now because once these are gone, they're going to be gone. There's a bunch of them on here. Very cool. Thank you, Dad.
That's that's super awesome of you. Uh, I'll be damned. Very cool.
eBay to the rescue as always. Uh Ryan Sedat says, "You hear the regular04 is probably discontinued." I didn't. I was afraid of that though. Um at least that's what Madseche thought. Uh, I hope not because the the regular 04 has some uses that are I mean it's way lighter and way smaller and way easy to put like like you're not going to build a 65 millimeter tiny Whoop um with the the full size 04 wide. It's way too heavy.
Um yeah, it's not it's it's it's it's no good. Um, if the ' 04 light is discontinued and you have one that's in good shape and you would rather have the 04 wide, I will probably trade you. I will probably buy I'm probably willing to buy one of those 04 wides and trade you because I absolutely love the 04 Lite. Um, I have two of them.
Oh, no. I have three of them. Actually, I might not be willing to trade you. If if you're desperate to do that, let me know. Um, basically, I'll I I I want to find enough of them to last me forever essentially. Um, because yeah, once they're gone, I mean, immediately they won't be gone. But, um, yeah, I have three of them. I forgot. I I have the one in uh my in my frame, which needs to come out of there. I need to put the wide into into my frame. Um, but yeah, the the O4 Light, the regular O4 Light, um, there's a lot to like about it. The the the the narrower field of view is not that bad if you're flying something that's really slow. Um, and the there is like no fishbowl effect whatsoever. It is a super linear camera. Uh, which I really really like. the the big thing that that the 04 Lite is absolute magic for is chasing little RC drift cars. There is nothing that will ever be as good as that, I don't think. Um and and the fact that it's lower field of view actually works in its favor because the it's zoomed in and so like the really cool shots are the ones where you're really close, right? And with it being zoomed in, you don't have to get as close and so the shots tend to be better. And with it being super linear, it just looks gorgeous. It looks like a itty bitty cinema camera rather than, you know, all the other cameras we fly look like GoPros because GoPros are like ultra wide fields of view, ultra fisheye, right? Like looking through a a peepphole in somebody's door kind of cameras. Um, so yeah. Uh, Ryan also says, "I believe TC Moore said the naked 03 filters from Flywoo have the same dimensions as the FlyWoo twist lock mount." What's the twist lock mount? And are still available at Flywoo. I have some on the way myself. Um, naked 03 filters.
Interesting.
Okay. 03 twist lock mount. Interesting. I I I don't know the twist lock mount. That is cool. Um Sears says, "Standard speed is so much better. Rip Stars is my take on the term rockstars, but in reference to you and all the awesome pilots here."
Okay.
Standard speed. Standard speed is so much better. Oh. Oh, watching the stream in standard stream. Jimmy Flies FV says, "I've got one in the box I will trade.
Love it." Um, how long are you willing to leave that in the box before you sell it? Uh, because if I can get if I can get the one out of my frame, I just won't put that into a build and that'll be my one extra. Um, I definitely want to have uh one of these 2-in builds where I figure out how to get the ND filter on it with one. Um, I'm okay with having like one man, there's a there's a sickness in the in the world of cinematography.
Um, andor like any any high stress, but like there's a saying, the saying is two is one and one is none. Um, for the real professionals, the saying is three is one and two is none. Um, and yeah, having one extra of something is a part of this weird sickness where it's like eventually I'm going to break the thing and I'm going to have to use that extra and then I'm not going to have an extra anymore and that's going to suck.
Um, in theory they sold enough 04 lights that there'll be one on eBay, you know, once a month at least or whatever. The worry though is that they're kind of fragile. Um, and so maybe they won't.
Uh, maybe DJI will always fix them for us. I doubt it. Always. I doubt they will always fix them, but you know, maybe they have a stockpile of a thousand that they're going to keep in a warehouse for repairs or whatever. I doubt they'll have that many, but um that's uh that's a tough one. Um do me a favor, Jimmy. Hold on to that for now.
Uh as if you're as if I didn't say that, you were just going to throw it in the river. Um I'm not going to jump on that right now is what I is what I meant to say. Uh because also I'm curious if the the New York DJI location that sells them for $109. I'm curious if if they might have one. Um 109 bucks for an04 light is a scary good deal. Um I didn't think that when they first came out.
Uh but I certainly do now with with how what has happened with prices lately. Um but yeah, that's very cool of you. Uh, thank you Jamie for letting me know. I I I I very well could change my mind as soon as this live stream is over and be like, "Please sell me that." Uh, I might miss a reply, but you know where to find me. Awesome. Uh, C2C says, "DJI04 air unit light available on Amazon, albeit at 140 bucks. Many available." Yeah, I refuse to pay 140 for them. That that's absurd. Um, but that's good that they're they're still on Amazon. I love that. Ryan Sat says, "Uh, I love the HQT 2x2 by3. My only gripe uh with them is that they felt like the least grippy of the 2-in triblades."
Um, huh, that's interesting.
I mean, I can see them being less grippy than like the EMAC Aans because they just have massive paddle blades on them.
Um, I personally I can't feel a difference in grip between different triblades normally. Um, I can definitely feel it between byblades and trib blades for sure. Um, but yeah, I've never necessarily noticed a difference.
Um, other than like when it's drastic, like when when it's like a really thin bladed triblade and then a really fat paddlebladed triblade. Sometimes I can feel it maybe a little bit. Um, but yeah, I typically can't feel the difference there. So, that's interesting. Um, Ryan also says, "By twist lock, I meant the same ND mount."
Uh, I think you use the word bayonet mount. Ah, okay. Flywood naked 03 ND filters. Uh, that uh, hold on. Let's see.
the naked filters.
Ah, cool. Okay. How does that What does it lock on to on that lens?
Interesting. I wonder they're not showing any pictures of the inside of it. Whatever. If it works, it works. I mean, that's that's rad. If if this uh if this works on the new 04 light wide, that's amazing.
Um because the filters that I ordered with it uh are the ones that pop out. They're the uh they're the clip-in ones. And like it's an easy fix. You just put a little dab of E6000 or hot glue on there. But 04 wide ND. Um, yeah, I do not like this design.
Like it this is a convenient design because it just clips on. Uh, but you got to glue it in there like that. That will not survive a crash.
Um, so yeah, this is the housing.
I guess those 03 filters just push in between the the the little top and bottom pieces and the actual round lens because it it doesn't look like they have any threads on the inside. I could be wrong. It's it's hard to see, but yeah, it looks like it's just a friction fit.
Um, so that's interesting. I wonder if they'll I wonder if they'll stay on.
Uh, Blueback says, "I have some of the original '04 camera lenses. Uh, you could do a swap.
You could do a swap of the O4 wide to the original O4 lens. Uh, I pulled it to put the Flyw Wide lens on the O4. Yeah, it's true.
That would be the most full circle moment ever. Um, taking an O4 wide and carving it to shreds and putting the older uh lens on there uh that nobody has wanted.
Um, Philip 3273 says, "B&H Photo has 04 lights at 109." They do. I forgot that some I I stumbled across that last week at one point. Um, 04 air unit.
Boy, 109 bucks is incredibly attractive.
for that thing. Um, but yeah, I'm going to hold off. In theory, B&H has a shitload of them. And nobody likes, you know, here's the other thing, right? Nobody likes the old school04 other than me. And so like the ones that are out there, even if DJI does discontinue it, the ones that are sitting on storeshelves might sit there forever. And so they might and [ __ ] people might even run clearances on them to get rid of them. Um, can you imagine getting an '04 light for like less than $100.
Uh, so yeah, I think I think what I'm going to do is keep a couple tabs opened.
Uh, I'm opening a B&H tab right now, actually. Uh, I think I'm going to keep a um 04 air unit. I think I'm going to keep this tab opened here. 109 bucks. Look at that. That is awesome. And I believe I'm going to keep a uh the Camri tab opened, which is the DJInyc.com, uh which is the other place that it's 109. Every once in a while, this will pop up and it'll say in stock and you can buy it real quick. Um so yeah, I think I'm just going to keep these two tabs opened and keep tabs on them.
Uh Z Dr. Itch says, "How are the 15 amp MOSFETs on the HD0 AIO 15? Are they enough for racing? Beta FPV has spoiled me with their 18 amp MOSFETs." Um, I don't know anything about the AIO15, but the AIO5 was it's a technological masterpiece. I will say that and I love the HD0ero guys, but um, my AIO5 experience and many others uh, was a nightmare. Um, putting HD0ero onto the same board as a flight controller, an ESC, ELRS, um, is absurd. And so my hunch with the AIO15 is going to be that it's a pain in the ass. Uh, maybe the MOSFETs are totally fine. the the the the the AIO5 um main issue that I had is that it just overheats all the time. Um go figure, right? It's got a it's got a HD video system like on board. Um and so yeah, no surprises there. I I that's tough. HD0 only really makes sense in my opinion. um uh with racing like that is where I think that HD0 is uh really good. Uh but then in racing you're going to be hammered on it and so it's going to get really hot and so yeah it's tough. I would certainly not if if I were to do an AIO 15 build which I won't uh but if I did uh I would certainly not run a setup that came anywhere near 60 amps. Um, I would make sure that like the max amps I ever saw was like 40 maybe. Um, so yeah, that's just me though. I I hate when when components die. Uh, it it's it when like when a when a $60 AIO dies, I if sometimes I flew less than 60 batteries on that, that's more than a dollar a battery. That's that's a bit much, right? Like when these components die early in their life, it's like, yo, I just spent $4 a battery. What the hell? Um, and so yeah, I I I'm I'm extra sensitive to um to electronic [ __ ] the bed uh because I'm a cheapkate, but that's okay, you know, allowed to be a cheapkate.
Uh what else? What is it? 11:13. One more question and I'm gonna end this one a little bit early because I got to go pack. Somebody asked me a question.
AIO15 is $110.
That's a lot of money, but you don't have to buy a VTX. And so, yeah, it's feels like a lot of money, but you know, AIO's are 70, 80, $90 pretty commonly, and then you spend another 20, 25, 30 bucks on a VTX. Maybe not that much, but you know what I'm saying. One more question, friend. Somebody asked uh somebody asks asked me something.
Another $50 for the HD0 cameras are not $50, are they?
No, no, no, NO, NO. HOLY [ __ ] It's still $50. I thought maybe like if I went back it wouldn't be $50 anymore. Wow, that little junky lux camera is 45. Jeez.
Are all the HD0ero cameras $50? What in the [ __ ] No, the Eco is not. The Eco is 29, but boy, that Eco camera is red.
I did not like flying that eco camera. I didn't like flying the Lux camera either. Guess that's another part of my problem with the HD0ero system is that the I don't like any of the cameras and they do have that good like 90 fps camera that everybody raves about, but it's huge. It's not huge, but it's it's not it's too big for a Whoop. Uh my dad says, "How you doing?" I'm okay. I'm okay. Try my best. Uh really good bad boy with the last comment of live stream. He says, "What is the meaning of life?" Um, it is uh to have a good time and to try to uh make things better for everybody around you and just humanity in general. There you go. Uh, CRFV says, "How much wood would a wood prop chop if a wood prop could chop wood?" I can't believe I was able to say that on the first shot. Uh, Nano V90 is like $70.
Dr. Itch says. Jesus.
All right, friends. Yeah, fly six packs like really good Bad Boy says. Uh, fly your six batteries today. I will catch you guys on Sunday. Uh, no Wednesday stream, no Friday stream. I'll be in Chattanooga. Uh, but I think I get home Friday night. Uh, so maybe a little bit of GT7 on Saturday. Uh, if I if this gig falls through. I'm still waiting to hear back. Um, yeah. Thanks for hanging people. cpv.com to support me. Be good. I'll be back in a little bit less than a week.
Later, friends. I don't know what this is going to be flight footage of. Oh, I just pulled the memory card. Hold on.
I do know what this is going to be flight footage of because I'm going to play you the Caillou Mini on 12037000 uh murders in a couple of uh in a couple of little Atlanta parking lots.
Oh, come on, computer. Really?
Okay. Well, this application is obviously broken. Wait, no. Will it Will it work?
No, it won't play.
This is great. I love it. Awesome. I'll just use the preview window. Love you.
Bye.
Yeah. Out in the yard where the grass grows wild gritting like a child. Teddy's cricket fur flies and jet wash dreams. Yeah.

Yeah. Yo, sa behind the sticks. Teddy's leading the pack. Prop guard missiles unleash. Never looking back. No leash, no map, just freestyle. Mike on the dog drone streets every day and night said, "Whoops. Hitting low. Got to nail the dive." Teddy push throttle up, feel the beast come alive. I see the neon arc. Got the sticks locked in. Teddy.
Yeah. Let's rip this loop. Ride the roar of the wind. Teddy. Yep. Yeah, >> tin do walking at the br speed. Human groups flipping in style.
Fetchners got throttle and a toy smile.
