Sometimes the strongest thing a nurse can do is admit that they need a mental health day. Sleep.
That was me on Friday. [music] I still have responsibilities. I still need an income. I still have [music] things that I'm figuring out and building.
But I needed a pause. Because nurses are used to working through exhaustion.
And a lot of times ignoring the signs that our mind and our body may need some rest. Burnout is not always dramatic.
A lot of times it just looks like feeling exhausted, [music] irritability, dread before work, [music] and just feeling overwhelmed. And I think we need to normalize nurses taking care of their mental health. If you've been feeling like this, feeling overwhelmed, I want you to know that you're not alone.
