Daikin's VRV7 R32 system represents a significant advancement in variable refrigerant flow technology by integrating heat recovery and heat pump functions into a single unified module, simplifying installation and reducing complexity for contractors. The system features a standardized three-pipe configuration that accommodates both applications, with heat pump requiring two pipes and heat recovery requiring three. Key safety innovations include Shirido technology, which provides R32 leak detection sensors, storage controllers with alarms, safety shut-off valves, and ventilation interlocks, all designed to meet AS60335.2.40 compliance standards. The branch selector unit enables indoor units to switch between cooling and heating modes while maintaining safety compliance.

ARBS 2026: DaikinAdded:
Hello and welcome back to ARBs 2026. I'm Sandra Rossi and I'm at the biggest stand at the show which is Dacon Australia and I'm here with Scott Walker and we're going to talk about Dacan's newest product which is the uh VRV7 R32 uh which is very exciting. Scott, >> let's tell us all about it.
>> Thank you for having us, Sandra. It's been good to talk to you. Uh this year at ARBs, we'll be looking to um focus on sustainability. The the head part of our program today will be the VRV 7. We will have uh industryleading uh capacities right up to 168 kW. Um we will continue along um with that seven uh the VRV4 S which will be the seven category uh which will be the side discharge units.
The top discharge will be um the heat recovery and heat pump. The biggest advancement in the the new VRV7 will be only one module. It'll be a unified module. So we'll be get both heat recovery and heat pump out of the same the same system which is a great step forward for for the industry and for our contractors and uh the way um this will be installed in in the market >> that makes it much easier for installers for everyone >> having one unit and it simplifies everything.
>> We've got three pipes in the bottom uh as as opposed to the exist existing range which heat recovery needs three pipes, heat pump needs two pipes. So, our standard unit will have three pipes coming out. You just use the two for heat pump and three for heat recovery.
So, it's a it's a great a great advancement in the industry.
>> Okay. And energy efficiency. We still got all the great benefits.
>> Great benefits are all going to be energy efficient. We always step up with every new range goes up a little bit more.
>> Fantastic. Thank you very much, Scott.
>> No problem.
>> And um well, we're going to have a look at some of the indoor units. I'm show you.
>> Yeah.
>> All right. So, we'll move on to the indoor units and have a little bit of a chat about them. Initially, we'll be going to market with four models of the indoor. We'll have the high wall uh indoor system, which will have an expanded range from 1.5 kW up to 10 kW, which is sort of covering off the what the industry's been asking for for quite some time. Behind your back there, Sandra, will have the two cassette units with the smaller roundflow cassette. All will come with the with the streamer technology, which is uh a step a step forward. We will also have the uh Australianmade uh bulkhead system uh which has had uh a growth in capacity as as well with a smaller a smaller unit being the 1.5 kW system as well as some modifications around uh repairs and serviceability on the unit with a the um drain pump now being able to be removed from the side the side of the unit. So um we're very excited to uh get the 32 range to market. Hi, I'm here with uh Sunonny Wong and we're talking about some of the VRV safety devices. Hi Sunny.
>> Hello. How are you?
>> Yes, good. Yep. Um today standing here we have the Shirido technology. Um Shirido technology is Daikin exclusive safety standard design for R32 VR systems. um it's actually um enhance um the protections give you a peace of mind and also to support compliance with AS60335.2.40.
So over here we can see there are four different types of safety devices offered by Dykin in R32 VRV systems. The first we have R32 lead detector sensors.
Um the sensors can be installed inside the indoor unit instead of mounting on the wall. That means it save you running the wiring to install on the wall and it also give you a faster response to detect the leak. Um second we have this storage controller here. It comes together with a built-in 65 dBA alarm.
Um third we have safety shut off valve to isolate refrigerant flow in the event of leak is detected. Um it is compact as you can see the height itself is only 192 mm. It can be installed in a narrow sitting space. And lastly is the ventilation. This is the PCB interlock um to be interlocked with um Daikin heat reclaim ventilator or it can be interlocked with third party ventilation equipment.
>> That's um that's very impressive. That's great. So are there some more controls on the other side we should be looking at?
>> Yes, we do have the branch selector unit. So these are the branch selector unit used in VRV heat recovery systems.
It used to regulate the refrigerant flow to the indoor unit so that it allows the indoor unit to switch between cooling and heating. Um it comes together with single port and multiport up to eight ports. It is drainless that means you don't have to connect to the drain pipes. It's R32 safety compliance. The branch selector unit is the um safety shut off valve for the heat recovery systems. If the leaks come from branch selector unit referring to AS60335.2.40 if ventilated is required it can be connected to safety ventilated enclosure kits. And as you can see here, it is actually the enhanced series of um the um multi-branch selector units. It has the pass through configurations to reduce the downstream refetction.
>> Okay, that's very impressive. And uh the controls.
>> Yes. So DK beam software is um the equipment selection program. So it helps you to select the right equipments. Um when we talk about the safety devices um it help you to save time from doing the manual calculations going through the standards to find out what are the safety devices required in the end of the selections after you put in the information of the level of the room the height of the indoor unit the refuge um the room volume and the refrient charge in the systems the software will provide you a list of the safety device required um to be installed in the WV systems.
>> Thank you.
>> Very good. Thank you very much, Sunny.
Well, come down to the Dacan stand and take a look, get a firsthand look at all the uh new products and improvements that Dacan have made.
