[00:01:29]Let us start tonight uh at second Corinthian.

[00:01:39]I had in my pocket. I laid them somewhere. All right. Second Corinthian uh let's start at chapter 5 and verse uh 17.

[00:02:15]Amen. All right, let's walk in some blessings.

[00:02:19]Amen.

[00:02:32]that therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature or creation.

[00:02:42]The old things are passed away. Behold, all things are become new, and all things are of God.

[00:02:51]who has reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ and hath given us the ministry of reconciliation.

[00:03:00]All right.

[00:03:02]Now, uh simply amazing uh when we start thinking about spiritual growth, spiritual growth and I think until we understand what God has done in us and through us by giving us his presence, then we can go through the same old routines of life, find a comfort zone and settle >> because it's it's easy just to say I'm I'm a child of and not recognize the presence of God in us.

[00:03:55]>> I'm a child of God. That mean that God lives inside of us. His spiritual presence, the indwelling of his spirit dwells now in human vessels.

[00:04:10]So yeah, we say I'm a child of God.

[00:04:12]Well, you know, I'm man, the power and all the things that we ever dreamed for, dreamed about doing and having and being in God and beyond dwells in the knowledge of really knowing that God lives in us and willing to make changes, sacrifices and changes in our lives.

[00:04:40]You know Jesus said nobody no man will pour what? New wine >> into the old wine skin. Now when Jesus said that he meant because the wine the old wine skin cannot stretch.

[00:04:57]Now he's going beyond just skin. He's saying let's say Jesus said here's some new wine. Right?

[00:05:05]He would love to put it in old wine skin.

[00:05:08]But he won't do it because when the new wine want to ferment, >> the old wine skin going to say what?

[00:05:16]>> I'm not changing.

[00:05:19]Yeah, I'm not moving. I'm not changing.

[00:05:21]I know you want to stretch me.

[00:05:24]>> I know you want to grow me.

[00:05:26]But I am not going to stretch or grow.

[00:05:32]So any new vision, any new version of ourselves, if we're not willing to let God what?

[00:05:41]Stretch us.

[00:05:42]>> Yeah. and change us. Then God says he don't even bother pouring in new vision, new purpose, new growth in the realm of spirit in ramma spirit having this peace and joy and getting above the the natural things of this world. Every time I think about getting above the natural things of the world, it's so much peace on the wall.

[00:06:09]Every time I'm talking about like when Jerro Nehemiah was on the wall, didn't he have a lot of peace up there? I mean, he building the wall.

[00:06:18]Sambella and Gishim and Tobaya is down there and and um Nehemiah is just saying, "Man, I'm doing a good work. Why should I stop the work? Why should I bother to come down and talk with you and all this stuff?" It's so good to be on the wall when other folks are down there just foolishness.

[00:06:43]The reason most people stay down there where the foolishness is at after they're born again because again they refuse to grow.

[00:06:52]And maybe we have to have the awareness that we are not why are we refusing to grow? Me sometime we're not growing because of lack of knowledge.

[00:07:01]We just don't know what's going on. So when God comes along, he says, "If any man be in Christ, male or female," Amen.

[00:07:14]>> Are y'all declaring you in Christ tonight?

[00:07:16]>> Amen.

[00:07:16]>> All right. If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature. Put that verse back up there again, uh, if you will. He is a what?

[00:07:32]>> New >> new creature. So what God is saying that once we are in Christ, he didn't say maybe we'll be a new creature.

[00:07:45]Uh but we are what?

[00:07:47]>> A new >> a new creature. So let's look at it. If there if therefore if any man be in Christ, he is either underline the word is or write it on a notepad.

[00:08:03]>> He is a what?

[00:08:08]>> So what Jesus uh the word of God is saying once you get born again, you are a new creature.

[00:08:18]>> That's right.

[00:08:19]The new is here.

[00:08:23]>> Amen.

[00:08:26]>> Okay, let's go back to what I said about the wine.

[00:08:30]It's all like God takes the old wine, new wine, and pour it into the what? Old wine skin.

[00:08:40]Now, he doesn't do that. So, what he does is say, "Okay, I'm going to make you a new creature."

[00:08:47]And the new wine is in us.

[00:08:51]The new spirit, right?

[00:08:56]It is we are right now.

[00:09:01]That doesn't mean that since we are new creatures that we going to let God grow us or scratch us. It just mean we're new creatures.

[00:09:12]So God comes along and said, "Now you're new creature. I want you to grow." What is new about us now? Nothing physical is new about any of us.

[00:09:21]If you were six feet tall when you got saved, >> still seek for. If you was a male when you got man when you got saved, >> if you was a female, >> a female.

[00:09:35]>> Your color of your eyes, the color of your skin. Nothing changed when you got what? To become a new creature, nothing changed. What? physically.

[00:09:46]So he's not even talking about we are new physically. He's not talking about the physical man is new.

[00:09:54]When I got saved, I was still Africanamean black man, but something new was about something new had happened.

[00:10:02]>> If from the outer appearance, if people were looking at me, they say, "I don't see nothing new about you.

[00:10:13]Right? So, it was not the growth of a outer appearance. Here's a sad mistake a lot of people make. They try to make people what? Look holy, act holy, >> dress holy.

[00:10:27]>> Amen.

[00:10:27]>> All of that is dressing up the person to try to make the person look new.

[00:10:37]>> But the news newness is not the outside changes, >> right?

[00:10:46]Because outside our side changes the performance.

[00:10:49]>> Now church folk know about that now.

[00:10:52]>> Amen. Boy, church f know about that performance.

[00:10:56]>> The outside uh changes really should happen because the new man >> Yeah. has come along and now people may dress more modest more modest >> right >> because why there's awareness now >> yes >> that the new creature is alive but no one should force a person say this how you ought to dress this how you talk this how you that's that's all artificial and only going to burn people out >> amen >> why they going to get tired trying to be they going to be tired trying to what? Be something that somebody told them they ought to be. Now that you're saved, this is how you ought to dress. Now that you're saved, this how you ought to talk. Now that you're dressed, this is how you ought to, you know. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I got it.

[00:11:48]But that you're asking for a level of maturity that a person have not developed into. So now there's pressure to be something they are not. They already had pressure before they came.

[00:11:58]>> Right. Right.

[00:11:59]>> Amen.

[00:12:00]>> Amen. So when God says um if there be any man if there be uh uh what it was if >> in Christ there be any man in Christ now that you're born again in Christ he is he is a new creature that have to change old habits.

[00:12:29]>> Yeah. Yeah.

[00:12:33]He is a new creature that have to have a new mindset.

[00:12:38]What did I say? He's a new creature that have to change what? Old habits >> and have a what? New mindset. Be willing to grow even if it painful cuz growth usually is pretty painful but it's beneficial. All right. So this new creature must be willing to have a new mindset and be willing to make changes in their lives.

[00:13:07]>> You know, I was um with someone and older guy and he were talking to somebody maybe older and he wanted his friend. and they were talking about something. He told the guy, he said, "Well, just text me the information."

[00:13:30]And the older guy said, "I don't do none of that.

[00:13:43]phones.

[00:13:46]>> He said he hate it.

[00:13:48]>> See, he say he hate the new phones.

[00:13:52]What that mean?

[00:13:54]The new phone is here, >> right?

[00:13:57]>> Just like we are new creature. We're here, >> right?

[00:14:04]>> He said, "I hate the old phone. These these new phone."

[00:14:07]>> So when I listened to it, I heard him in the realm of the spirit. See, when you start walking in God, you hear everything.

[00:14:13]>> Yeah.

[00:14:14]>> And you see it totally different.

[00:14:15]>> Yes.

[00:14:16]>> So, what he actually was saying, I love the old phone.

[00:14:22]>> Yeah.

[00:14:23]>> But the new phones, they're here.

[00:14:28]Now, new phones are so much better.

[00:14:30]>> They are.

[00:14:30]>> But they call for you to change.

[00:14:32]>> There it is. That's it. That's it.

[00:14:36]>> And to grow. Yeah.

[00:14:38]>> He basically said, "I like the old phone. You all you did with that was make a phone call >> and you hung it up."

[00:14:51]>> And he says, "This new stuff, new wine, >> yeah, >> new creature."

[00:14:56]>> Yeah.

[00:14:56]>> He said, "I don't like it." Why? He were used to >> the old ways >> and yet something new have come along.

[00:15:05]>> Yeah.

[00:15:07]Christians have lived sometime 30, 40 years in the old lifestyle.

[00:15:12]>> It is.

[00:15:13]>> Then the new life come.

[00:15:17]>> That's right.

[00:15:19]>> And we're still acting, refusing to understand >> this new life.

[00:15:29]>> Yeah.

[00:15:30]>> Now God said you you are a new creature.

[00:15:32]You have the new foam.

[00:15:34]>> Yeah. You are a new cre. You don't have that old phone. And thank God because to make a phone call, you got to get back to the house.

[00:15:41]>> Come on.

[00:15:45]>> If you go too far back, you got to hope somebody else not on somebody else is not on the other line.

[00:15:50]>> Party line. You mean remember the party?

[00:15:54]>> How far you want to go back and how far you want to stay back.

[00:15:57]>> Come on. That's good, >> child of God.

[00:16:00]>> Come on.

[00:16:00]>> Since we're a new creature.

[00:16:02]>> All right. You still hear Christians say, "Well, that's not the way.

[00:16:10]>> We did it in the old days." That's it.

[00:16:16]>> You know what? I wrote down a few things about new cell phones.

[00:16:22]>> Uh, I wrote down just a few of them. The old cell phone, the old phone, you made a phone call. That was it.

[00:16:30]>> And he said, He said, "I like the old way, but the new is here." He's stuck in the past >> and life is passing him by.

[00:16:42]>> Yeah.

[00:16:42]>> Because I know, I know, I know, I know.

[00:16:46]He's He's basically saying, "Man, I want to learn all this stuff."

[00:16:51]>> That's it.

[00:16:52]>> Well, learn more than just to make a phone call, >> right?

[00:16:59]>> Okay. So, I wrote a few things down.

[00:17:00]Y'all, y'all going to think I'm more than this. But the old phone, all you did was what?

[00:17:05]>> Make a phone call.

[00:17:07]>> Yeah.

[00:17:07]>> And you hung up.

[00:17:08]>> Yeah.

[00:17:10]>> The new phone, you can do banking on it.

[00:17:12]>> Come on now.

[00:17:15]>> Pay your bills.

[00:17:22]>> It's your credit card.

[00:17:26]>> You can set your schedule for months.

[00:17:38]>> You can travel on your phone.

[00:17:46]I hate this new phone because you refuse to grow.

[00:17:50]>> That's right.

[00:17:55]You can you can send money and receive money.

[00:18:10]>> I hate this new phone. It is so full of information. But if you don't want to change, yeah, life will pass you by. Amen.

[00:18:20]>> You are a new creature in God, stuck in the old way. And God is saying, "If I can't scratch you and I can't grow you, I can't really use you no more than on the level you are."

[00:18:40]>> You can play games on that thing >> all the time.

[00:18:44]>> Entertainment.

[00:18:46]watch TV.

[00:18:47]>> Yeah, that that would make you can watch TV.

[00:18:49]>> Yes, >> you can go Google.

[00:18:52]>> It's your computer and you can do shopping.

[00:18:55]>> Yes, >> I shouldn't have mentioned shopping.

[00:19:02]>> Are y'all >> still thinking of some more? Now watch this.

[00:19:06]>> FaceTime >> navigation system >> tracking. Yes, >> you can take picture and send pictures.

[00:19:16]>> Yes.

[00:19:18]>> No more dark room.

[00:19:20]>> Facebook.

[00:19:21]>> Yes.

[00:19:22]>> All kind of social media. And don't even talk about AI.

[00:19:26]>> Oh, that's it.

[00:19:28]>> Oh, he good.

[00:19:32]>> You can do your health. I did my blood pressure, my oxygen level.

[00:19:36]>> Blood pressure, oxygen level.

[00:19:39]>> All this with a phone.

[00:19:40]>> Yeah. They know my steps. Know I walk >> and I need to let you teach tonight.

[00:19:49]Do you understand?

[00:19:52]The new is here.

[00:19:55]>> Behold, if any man be in Christ, he need to discover himself.

[00:20:04]>> But it calls for what?

[00:20:08]>> A madeup mind. a made up mind >> that I need to learn what done happened to me.

[00:20:17]>> A made up mind >> that I need to also be willing to make some changes.

[00:20:28]So the Holy Spirit comes along and he lives inside of us and he works so hard on He works so hard.

[00:20:34]>> Amen.

[00:20:35]>> Oh, the Holy Spirit works on each of us.

[00:20:37]He comes and he lives inside of us. And every single day of our lives, he trying to get us to grow.

[00:20:46]Quit looking at other people. I'm talking about you and me. Every single day, the Holy Spirit is saying, "I'm trying to teach you how to be more patient."

[00:20:58]>> Yes.

[00:20:59]>> I ain't have time for patience. Back in the day, I said this, done that. Okay, that what you owe you.

[00:21:05]>> That's it. That's it.

[00:21:09]He trying to teach you how to not let people get on your nerve. Well, I'll tell you now, when people say something out of line, I'm going to let them have it.

[00:21:18]>> See, you don't want to grow.

[00:21:19]>> That's right.

[00:21:20]>> You're still stuck.

[00:21:23]>> There love, patience, longsuffering, temperance.

[00:21:29]>> All these things are the fruit of the spirit.

[00:21:32]We are this wonderful new creature and we can we will never stop growing.

[00:21:42]Listen, once you get born again, there's no end to growing.

[00:21:46]>> Amen.

[00:21:49]>> You can't get saved and in 10 years say I got it all now.

[00:21:53]>> Amen. Amen.

[00:21:55]>> Every day of our life, life teaches us how to be more mature in God if we are willing, Amen. to grow.

[00:22:09]>> Amen.

[00:22:11]So, how sad is it that we don't even understand what done happened to us? So, all right, you got the cell phone. Got a cell phone here and I haven't discovered everything in here.

[00:22:26]I don't learn to base everything need to function, but I probably will never tap into everything, >> right?

[00:22:38]>> But ain't nobody see once you get born again and you're a child of the living God, you'll never tap into all the resources God have. And that's a good thing. M >> but don't get stuck in the old ways. Now watch a Christian get saved.

[00:23:02]And we're so old. We're so full of old habits >> and ways.

[00:23:07]Watch churches all around the world.

[00:23:10]They have more people in them on first Sunday.

[00:23:12]>> Yeah.

[00:23:16]>> And maybe they'll come on third Sunday.

[00:23:18]Y >> or they may do Christmas, >> Mother's Day and Easter.

[00:23:25]>> Mother's Day and Easter. C M E >> Y.

[00:23:28]>> Okay. Why? Because it been tradition.

[00:23:32]Watch Sunday morning compared to Bible study.

[00:23:36]Why? Now we have a good crowd for Bible study cuz comparing we have great crowd. And then a lot of more people list that online that can't come. Come and understand that where that come from. Oh mindset.

[00:23:54]>> God said I shall send you pastors after my own heart and those pastors shall feed you with knowledge and wisdom. God said I'm going to send you someone and they will be there to feed you.

[00:24:07]But if you ain't there to eat and don't want to eat.

[00:24:13]But sometime we don't understand all the things that we're going through while we going through them because what God is trying to do is teach us how to grow.

[00:24:24]Now whatever whatever you're going through today, whatever uh trial or test you're going through today, it is because you are a new creature and is a growth test. It's not a it's not a trial. is a growth test. Well, if I don't know it, if I don't know it, I'm frustrated because what is this?

[00:24:53]I don't know about anybody else, but man, I I had the wrong perception of salvation when I gave my life to Jesus Christ. You know what I really thought? Now that I'm with Jesus, all my troubles is over.

[00:25:10]Anybody ever kind of thought once you give your life to Jesus Christ, >> you're like, man, that's it.

[00:25:17]>> That's it.

[00:25:18]>> It is over.

[00:25:21]>> The new creature have new trials.

[00:25:24]>> Yes.

[00:25:25]>> With God, with Christ on their side with the teacher, guiding them, loving them, shielding them, still going to have trials, but with a should have it with a new mindset. So what I just said, if you're going through something and you still have the old mindset, old set of eyes, old set of ears, you still have all of that, that because it's habit forming.

[00:25:51]You're a new creature, but you look at things the same way. We're a new creature, but we see or hear things the same way. We miss things because we don't see them from spiritual lens. So we miss even the very trial and the test of what happening in our day-today life.

[00:26:08]God is orchestrating every move of our life. He said, "I'm a lamp unto your feet, a light unto your path." So God is orchestrating our lives once we're born again every single single day. A lot of time again, you just can't see it because the mind is still being what? Conformed to this world. Okay. Once you're a new creature, if you still need the approval of people to know your identity, see you are a new creature. And people had nothing to do with this new identity is Christ.

[00:26:47]>> You need to learn qu and we need to learn Christ and quit trying to get the approval of people to feel like we're somebody. We are new creatures now.

[00:26:59]My identity now is not based on somebody liking me, approving me, or applauding me.

[00:27:06]>> Amen.

[00:27:08]>> Amen.

[00:27:10]>> How many people still get saved and they really good to have it, but how many people still need it?

[00:27:17]>> You see, it's good to have affirmation and all these things and people lift you up and it's good to have it.

[00:27:24]>> It make you feel good. But if you don't understand the new creature is not living on the applause of others.

[00:27:32]>> Amen. Amen.

[00:27:33]>> The new creature living on the obedience to Christ and growing in Christ till you get to a point that if they never clap.

[00:27:42]>> You boy I'm good man. I'm good because what I've learned who I am in who?

[00:27:47]Jesus.

[00:27:48]>> So sometime we say we're a new creature but we still need approval.

[00:27:53]>> Amen.

[00:27:55]My family said this.

[00:27:58]That's a test. That's stretching you. My family acting this way. They don't think I ought to do this or ought to do that.

[00:28:09]They own me about this. Okay, that is a test. Can you separate being new in Jesus >> from how people feel?

[00:28:25]>> Come on.

[00:28:28]>> You know they said a lot of thing about Jesus.

[00:28:30]>> Amen.

[00:28:31]>> But he got approval when he got out when he came up out of the water of Jordan after baptism. Y'all remember when he was baptized? A voice from heaven came and said this is my this is >> see J Jesus affirmation came after that baptism now he already knew but after John baptizing a voice came from heaven >> and the voice was his father's >> right >> this is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased if nobody else is pleased with him >> I'm well pleased with him so Jesus walked around in ministry knowing who he was because he was all spiritual. Now that doesn't mean that we don't encourage one another, build up one another, support one another. That is not what I'm saying. What I'm saying if you have the old mindset of what the world need just to feel good about themselves, then you don't understand this new creature.

[00:29:35]Man, I I had to grow. Lord Jesus, thank you for growth. Amen.

[00:29:39]>> Because when I first gave my life to Christ and I watch how people talk, watch how people preach mainly. And I lot and I saw that when you preach, if you were pretty good and very charismatic, people were with you.

[00:29:51]>> Come on, preacher. Preach. Talk to him.

[00:29:55]All that kind of stuff.

[00:29:57]>> Hallelujah. Go ahead. You heard all that.

[00:30:01]>> Amen.

[00:30:02]>> If you were doing pretty good.

[00:30:08]Yeah, boy. They Lord Jesus, >> if you were doing pretty good preaching, >> you heard them go ahead. Go ahead. You heard you know he preaching.

[00:30:23]>> Now, he might not have been preaching, but you heard the applause.

[00:30:27]>> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

[00:30:27]>> And you felt pretty good after the Mexico. Seemed like everybody was moved and motivated.

[00:30:33]>> That's right. That's right. What that also would do is keep you away from any real truth >> because you need to applause also will stop you from finding out who you are in God.

[00:30:54]And what happened when you don't get it?

[00:31:02]So, I remember one time I wasn't used to a listening crowd.

[00:31:09]>> I wasn't used to a listening crowd. I was used to a crowd who take notes >> and they would just listen >> right >> to see that you have anything that you know what you're talking about.

[00:31:20]>> Right?

[00:31:22]So when you're talking, some people you get to certain crowds and when you're talking the more the deeper you get, the quieter they get.

[00:31:29]>> That's right.

[00:31:31]>> Now, if you don't know what's going on, Amen. Somebody you start saying, "My God, I'm flunking up here.

[00:31:40]>> They got their arm fold or they listening, nodding the hell a little bit or right down saying you can, man, ain't nobody." See, watch this. the new creature as as as God told Jer uh uh Jeremiah stand and he said if you don't understand who you are and be confound let them confound you he said you'll be I will confound you so what God is saying know who you are now stay with me now so I was used to that so one time I was teaching preaching somewhere and that nobody moving my god man if you don't know who you are you'll get nervous >> like, man, good lord.

[00:32:21]>> I'm I I was going I was going here, here, and there, but maybe I need to throw in.

[00:32:30]Ain't it good? Yeah, Lord. All right.

[00:32:33]Yeah, Lord. Yeah, Lord. Maybe I need to throw a little of that in there.

[00:32:42]And if it come, it come. Don't just let it happen. So, I got through preaching and a couple people came up and said, "Oh my god, that was good."

[00:32:54]I'm saying to myself, >> "Yeah, you are a new creature in God.

[00:33:06]And if you are still waiting on people to uh agree with you when you are right, >> you need to know your new creature. Know you're right. And don't let old minds change your new mind.

[00:33:24]>> Come on, somebody.

[00:33:26]>> Hallelujah, somebody.

[00:33:28]>> Amen.

[00:33:28]>> And so, glory be to God. Y'all hear me?

[00:33:50]So look at verse 18. Put verse 18 up there.

[00:34:02]Now he says, watch this. And all things are of God. I'm a new creature. All things are God. He had reconciled me through Jesus Christ. Now, since all things are God, I'm a new creature.

[00:34:17]How do I really grow?

[00:34:19]How will I see? Watch this. How would you and I uh really really uh grow?

[00:34:28]How do we grow?

[00:34:31]Let me give you a little scenario.

[00:34:33]And I'll make it spiritual afterward.

[00:34:37]I go back to my high school years when I running track. I the bad joke around. I would fast or not fast. I run forever. Nobody in the county could beat me.

[00:34:52]I said in the county.

[00:34:54]>> I said outside the county.

[00:34:58]>> When you are the best of the people you hang around, >> that's it.

[00:35:08]>> It can be deceiving.

[00:35:10]>> That's right.

[00:35:13]>> It will make you think that you are the best and you have arrived. and will bring a level of contentment that will stop you from growing. You got to be careful when the only people you hang around are the one that you are smarter than.

[00:35:33]>> Amen.

[00:35:37]>> That's it.

[00:35:52]Then I found out I was best in the region and I was good in the state and all that stuff. Mess around and went to college.

[00:36:16]>> Amen. You got to see what it takes to be better. See, if the only people you hang around, only Christian you hang around is that or do type of Christians, >> then all you going to do have is a dad or do mindset.

[00:36:34]>> But when you get around other Christian that making things happen in the body of Christ, it'll push you.

[00:36:43]So yeah, I mess around with the college and here I am a freshman. They got some seniors that world class.

[00:36:50]>> That's it.

[00:36:52]>> I was running middle distance and I still had my same mindset and until I got around people on another level.

[00:37:10]Now that was a good thing.

[00:37:14]Yeah, that was a great thing. I said, whoa.

[00:37:19]Do you see how Christians can come become content?

[00:37:25]>> Although there's you're a new creature and there's so much in us is not being stirred up. See, one thing about people like the Apostle Paul when he was going around teaching and Apostle Paul had Timothy and and and Silas and and uh and John, Mark and all of them young people following them, man. They them them young preachers were looking at Paul like, "My God, I just want to reach >> right >> where you are." He was motivating. And then they would hear Paul saying, "I have not yet apprehended.

[00:37:59]Can you hear somebody about to about about to left you 500 yard and when you finally get up there and they say, "Man, I ain't got there yet.

[00:38:12]You're a new creature.

[00:38:14]You keep hang if we keep hanging and we don't sharpen ourselves, you'll never grow." So, a lot of time we go around and I don't mean this to offend anybody. We'll go back home around unsaved people and try to grow.

[00:38:34]>> Oh my God. We go around unsaved people and try to what? Take their advice >> and grow from their advice. Their advice is worldly. Their advice is wisdom of this world. And we go around them and we trying to grow from them. No. If you're going to grow all things, look at that verse again. That's uh put that verse the next verse. What was that verse?

[00:38:55]That was verse uh where I >> 18.

[00:38:59]>> 18.

[00:39:01]>> Yeah. Where was I? I was in five and 18.

[00:39:07]And all things now are of God who have reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ and have not and have given us the ministry of reconciliation. So God is saying now if you going to grow, you going to have to grow around, you going to have to grow with people that will challenge you >> and you have to challenge yourself.

[00:39:33]So and then you got to know who you are and you got to know when to shift.

[00:39:40]>> Oh, that's good, too.

[00:39:42]>> This something I re recognize. Track and field is a funny thing and it's pro pro basketball, pro football, it's any profession in the in the legal realm or or I don't care business wise. You better know who you are and know when to shift.

[00:40:00]Somewhere along the line, I realized I wasn't going to be the best in the world and only the best in the world got paid.

[00:40:11]Well, God didn't give me the talent to be the best in the world. Well, I was great and good, but I wasn't the best in the world. So, I realized, hey, thank you, Lord. You opened my eyes.

[00:40:27]Thank you, Lord. I know who I am, and I don't have to keep chasing some I don't I can't be, but that's something I can be, which is the greatest me.

[00:40:40]All of y'all got that.

[00:40:42]Nobody else can beat me doing that.

[00:40:45]So don't lose yourself chasing somebody else.

[00:41:05]Please don't hear that. I say never give up on yourself. Always believe in yourself.

[00:41:11]Only God can tell you when to shift.

[00:41:31]I was still like going to little road races. This is simply amazing. I going to road races and just enjoy myself running little six mile races and stuff. And so one day we had went to Lakeland. You remember that?

[00:41:46]Was you with me? When I where I met my college friend. Okay, I told you about it. Okay. So, I'm there's a guy named Kip Keller. He might be watching. I don't know. When we were in college, Kip, I don't know how you can get on the team.

[00:42:09]We done finished drinking Gatorade and here he come in after we're running six mile races. in.

[00:42:15]We going to set down and he come every time he come in. He almost in the last little 10 or 15 people.

[00:42:24]You wait till God tell you to shift.

[00:42:28]So we finished college and we was in Lakeland. We're going to run a six mile race and I ran the race. You know, I was in no great shape. Didn't do that good as far as what I used to could do. I was out there more for recreation than anything else.

[00:42:42]And then I I was walking back to my car and I heard the man making the announcement and he said new course record and I kept walking was set today Kip Kayla.

[00:43:04]I thought I'm turning around. I don't know but one man named Kip Kayla.

[00:43:11]I went back.

[00:43:14]>> You had to see it for yourself.

[00:43:16]>> And I saw Kip getting his and they were paying money then.

[00:43:20]>> He had won them by a couple thousand dollar.

[00:43:23]>> Got his trophy, set a new record. I'm looking and when he came down and said, "Kale."

[00:43:31]and he called my name and we embraced each other. I had seen these each other in four, five, six years and I said, "What in the world?

[00:43:43]How in the world?

[00:43:47]What happened?"

[00:43:49]He said, "Man, I just kept uh" See, God didn't tell him to stop. He said, "I just kept running and kept improving, kept running, kept improving.

[00:43:58]And they said, "Man, one day this all just came together."

[00:44:01]>> All right.

[00:44:02]>> I said, 'What you doing now?

[00:44:05]Uh, ma, I said, "And what you doing now?" He said, "Man, I love it." He said, "So, you know, I don't know where you get the money for. I don't care what you got from." He said, "But I got me a couple sporting stores in the malls, selling me running shoes and stuff, basketball shoes." I said, "Hey, look at here. Your gift made room for you."

[00:44:27]>> What am I saying? He kept what? In the natural growing, growing, growing, hanging around people pushing him and growing in the body of Christ.

[00:44:40]Same thing, church.

[00:44:42]Amen. Amen.

[00:44:44]>> Don't ever again run away from a trial.

[00:44:53]Stretching you.

[00:44:55]Have the right attitude when it it come stretching you.

[00:45:01]Quit talking like the old person used to talk.

[00:45:05]Let God stretch you. Amen. Quit having an old attitude. Let God scratch you.

[00:45:24]>> So you got to know what is God doing with you. Learn who you are. And that is a a going to be a comfort zone like no other. Y'all hear me?

[00:45:37]You cannot grow >> holding on to old wine and old mind and old habits.

[00:46:29]He is not maybe a new creature. Here's the biggest hindrance.

[00:46:36]God didn't get rid of the get rid of the old man.

[00:46:43]>> He let the He let the new creature come into the old mind, the old body, the old sight, the old ears, all the senses. The new creature came in and they didn't get rid of the old. It' been so good if God just said, "Here's the new creature. Now I'm going to get rid of that old mind. I'm going get rid of that old thoughts. I'll get rid of them old fears and approval and affirmation and all the I'm going to get rid of I'm just going to make you like God, Jesus. No, he said, "No, you're a new creature and the old man is still hanging around."

[00:47:20]>> And Paul, you remember when Paul had that route, he said, "Every time I go to do good, >> that old man still hanging around.

[00:47:28]>> The things I would do, I can't do." He said, then he he he summed up, you know, that's a war going on.

[00:47:35]>> Yes, it is.

[00:47:36]>> My flesh and my spirit at war with one another. And he said, but I thank be to God who will give me the victory.

[00:47:47]>> So that's what now this scripture going to jump off the page and I'm done.

[00:47:53]That's why the Bible come along now and says this like never before.

[00:48:00]Don't be conformed to what? Conformed.

[00:48:07]What the word conform mean?

[00:48:09]>> Take shape.

[00:48:10]>> You take shape of be like >> don't be like or take the shape mindset of this world >> but be ye >> transformed. How?

[00:48:30]>> So what God saying to us? Something wrong with our old mind.

[00:48:37]>> Isn't that what Jesus said?

[00:48:38]>> He said, "Now be what?"

[00:48:41]>> Transformed by the >> renewing.

[00:48:45]>> Wait a minute. Jesus. What wrong with our old mind?

[00:48:47]>> Messed up.

[00:48:48]>> He said, "Hey, >> why are you telling me to be transformed? The only way I can be transformed is by the renewing of my mind. Other words, you're not going to give me you I'm going to have to take a spirit mind now. Renew my mind. Well, something's got to be wrong if you telling me to get a new mind.

[00:49:05]>> Don't be transformed or come for be transformed by the renewing of the renewing of the mind.

[00:49:13]>> That you may know what this good and perfect gift of God is.

[00:52:02]Once we get saved, we you give us that same approval. Let us be kind to people.

[00:52:07]Let us affirm them and encourage them and let us receive encouragement. But let us understand who we are in Jesus name.
