[00:00:00]Avoid grapefruit juice with many, many, medications. The reason is substances within the grapefruit juice compounds, they block an enzyme system that helps metabolize drugs. So, if you drink grapefruit juice or enough of it, the drugs that you're taking, many of them for kidney disease, will build up in your system. And that's bad because when they build up, then they become, you know, much more potent and then much more side effect. And it's not the right amounts, it's not going to help control issues. May, you know, something like a blood pressure may send your blood pressure really, really low. So, that's why you don't want you drinking grapefruit juice. love grapefruit juice.

[00:00:31]And I knew before my transplant I would never be able to have it. I still shouldn't have it on dialysis, but I would have a little grapefruit juice my dialysis days only, just to get that little taste. And I really haven't had it since in like 20-something years.

[00:00:42]Maybe one time I think I might have had this much in a glass cuz it was just there, somebody had it being served, I just took a little bit. But no, barely had any grapefruit juice or grapefruits, which you got to avoid those when you're on a lot of medication. Especially when you have a kidney transplant because you need all those medications and grapefruit juice will interfere with them.
