Browny's Back!!! Jonathan Brown explains his diagnosis during On the CouchHinzugefügt:
Kylie, um, forcing you to go and get scanned based on your footy career and and what has been talked about. Like, how hard was that and how long did she push you to get it done?
>> me into it after a few years and um the uh the what well eventually I just gave in.
It was just the nagging wife and uh nagging wife before you blow up at home she's got a saying now nagging wife save lives but uh no she did look at the I guess you know there's probably always that doubt when you read all the headlines about head knocks over the journey. Anyway, I finally gave in to Carl's and I got a head scan. Uh obviously the last thing I was expecting was when I got the phone call that I had a brain tumor but uh I had a brain tumor nonetheless so I think that was a first for the AFL program. They're not normally expecting that um but fortunately enough Gavin Davis the surgeon who's a big Melbourne supporter and his team's doing well this year he was able to get it out and uh and fortunately enough it wasn't a serious tumor.
>> So when when you get that news >> Yeah.
>> How do you feel how do you feel what do you think about what what goes through your mind?
>> unbelievable. It it uh Well cuz it it there's that it's the unknown Jordy no doubt about it. So when you do find out um and I got told in the first phone call you need open brain surgery. I hadn't even spoken to the surgeon. I'm going well hang on a minute you normally don't have open brain surgery for something minor um So there was the wait because there's two things with the with the tumor. Can they get it out? Um you know or is it going to be problematic in trying to access it?
Obviously mine was a fair way down and then secondly what grade is it you know and and they said for the best part of 10 days you're praying hoping and praying it's not a grade three or four obviously the worst which will you know you're in big trouble then. Um so fortunately enough they get it out and then you still have to wait for the initial results and I had to wait another four or five days and got the word back that it certainly wasn't a grade three or four tumor so you breathe a deep sigh of relief, but yeah, I'll tell you what, it puts things into perspective.
