PlayStation Responds to DRM Controversy – PS5/PS4 30-Day Online Rule. It GOT WORST!

Now once again guys, basically Sony or should I say PlayStation is now responding to people that is sending message to them and we are going to get into this. Okay, now let me refresh your mind. Okay, basically for anybody that do not know what is a PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 DRM, basically they just added that just recently on the new update. And what that does is basically if you don't play within 30 days on your digital game or basically just online, let's just say like that online. Basically, what's going to happen is that they will take out the license of that game that you completely own or you're gonna get probably like an error something like that that they say. Okay. Anyway, I'm going to basically refer you to this uh problem about the PlayStation and the PlayStation they finally responded. So, let's get straight to it. All right, guys. And first thing first guys, I do basically want to point out, okay, PlayStation is reported require user to connect the online every 30 days on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 to restore license for digital purchase game. That's why I always tell you guys it's never good to purchase any digital game. This apply for games purchase digital. All right, after March 2026.

[00:01:43]So we was wrong. It's not this month. He already started it. So if you already purchased game from March, basically it start from right there. Okay.

[00:01:57]Anyway, this is their respond. They have basically talked to other people on the PlayStation support. They said, "Thank you for your interesting on the 30-day timer that is being applied to all new purchases affected content game games purchased digitally after the March 2026 update." This is crazy. This This is insane. I'm not even going to lie. This is insane.

[00:02:23]uh the offline uh if the console does not connect to the internet within 30 days, the license expire and the game may refuse to launch until a connection is restored. Okay, so basically it will permanent console restriction. Setting a console on per does not bypass this 30-day requirement. The 30-day is a valid period and is not a sign of an account restriction or anything like that. So basically guys at this moment if you guys do not know you can basically go to your setting right here. All right. Go to say user and account.

[00:03:11]All right. And it should show you between right here on the payment subscription right here. and you're going to basically check on the gaming app service. Okay? And they're going to update it right here soon.

[00:03:28]Okay? So, uh, basically to avoid that, you need to be online at least once every 30 days. Okay? I'mma be honest with you. Not sometime people don't don't get on like every 30 days because either one, they just need a break from the from the game. So just they just take a month just to take a break out of it. That actually really does happen if you guys do not know. All right. And you could check for these update. Okay. Now there's another update on this I want to show you real quick. All right. Now somebody actually referred that the remaining for this one is when you basically uh pre-order the game and the expiration. I don't really still don't understand the part of the remaining part where where did that remaining come from, you know, and I like I believe that they added that is in basically it's on every game on this. Okay, so I'm not sure where why there's a remaining there, but I believe it's party it's probably for the digital. Okay, so I do want to let you guys know about that.

[00:04:32]So, it's very important that um that you guys do sign in at least every once every 30 days, okay? If you have it digital. Now, the good thing about that is that I have one game that is digital, but it's I bought it way before that and it was this game because this game right here, uh basically it it doesn't it didn't like I couldn't buy on this. It only required digitally.

[00:05:00]So only people that wanted to play the game could only purchase it as a digital digital. So at least I purchased this game um way like I think it was like a year ago or two. So I really have fun with this game. So thank God that I don't have to worry about this here.

Okay, because some people are saying that they you know what is this um you know 30-day timer blah blah blah. But they said they also say something interesting that caught my eyes right here. They say if you do not connect online within the time frame, you may lose access to your game and media until you reconnect. So basically the media is I okay I thought about game but media what that's crazy until you reconnect. Okay.

[00:06:14]This is intended to ensure that your console remain authority to access your purchase content. So if you guys do not know about this, if you guys do not know what is media and you guys seem to be kind of confused, come over here. You see where it say media right here. So for now on let's say if I want to download YouTube or or you know Prime TV or something like that like I want to download Prime TV or Disney Plus or something like that right basically what's going to happen is that um you know if I don't use it they're going to also disconnect the media. But this is actually something new and this is what this is the the new respond from PlayStation that really caught my eyes.

[00:07:01]So the media is actually a new thing I never I I thought about only for gaming but it's just not only for gaming guys.

[00:07:08]It is a more for like almost everything like we're talking about digital game and we're talking about the media which is YouTube or or Hulu plus or Netflix whatever you on you know that that actually caught my eyes. Okay. So yeah so everything else seem to be the same.

[00:07:28]This is what people these are people sharing it you know. But now another thing that caught my eyes here and this is a real thing if you guys do not know. They said typical for refund allegibility. You can request a refund within 14 days okay of purchase providing that your content has been downloaded have not been downloaded or streamed. if you're specifically concerned regardless this timer um please provide more details. So basically even if you purchase a game uh digitally the good thing about this is that you could get a 14 days return or refund.
