[00:00:42]Uh it's been a while, so let's go ahead and jump back into our free people of color / indigenous surnames of the tribes of North Carolina.

[00:00:54]So, the purpose of this, as we've been going through this, is to show the correlation of all these tribes in Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina and showing the correlation with the free people of color. So, we're we're uh seeing free people of color surnames show up in these tribes.

[00:01:18]So, for this particular video, we are going to get into the Occaneechi Saponi and um as I've always stated before, uh that's the tribe that my family correlates with, Occaneechi, uh or excuse me, Saponi, uh Catawba, and Piscataway uh Indian tribes.

[00:01:41]All right, y'all. So, let's go ahead and jump into this. Um as we go through this, you're going to see um same surnames that show up in these other tribes, so um yeah, let's get it.

[00:01:55]All right, so first we're going to go with the core surnames. So, we'll go through those real quick.

[00:02:00]Um First one we're going to do is going to be the surname Jeffries. So, let's go down to the J's.

[00:02:09]And as you can see, we got Jeffrey and Jeffries. So, both of those correlate with the uh Occaneechi.

[00:02:18]All right, next one is going to be Haycock. So, we can just scroll up a little bit here.

[00:02:29]All right, there's Haycock. All right, next one's going to be Goings. So, um what should show up is going to be Going.

[00:02:38]And that actually is a form of this surname. So, you're going to have Goings, Going, you're going to have Goings. So, g o i n g s. So, different spelling variations, same family.

[00:02:53]Next one's going to be Collins. All right, so let's go scrolling up to Collins, which we have found in previous videos with other tribes. So, there it is.

[00:03:16]All right, so we're going to have Since we're going to be in the G's, we'll hit Gibson. And then we're also going to find Guy.
