[00:00:00]6,000 years ago in the fertile valley between the Tigris and the Euphrates River in the area of Mesopotamia, the earliest cities arose, giving birth to civilization as we know it. And among these very first cities was the city of Uruk. The city Uruk was associated with the sky god Anu, who was the chief deity of the Sumerian pantheon. And to honor their sky god Anu, the people created a temple near the center of the city. And this temple was built on top of a structure known as a ziggurat. It towered above the city's fortification walls. We are going to look into the birth of civilization, one of the oldest cities in the entire world, and one of the biggest landmarks in this city, the Anu Ziggurat of Uruk.
