Turning Around For me Piano tutorialAdded:
It won't >> [music] [singing] >> always be like The Lord will perfect [music] that concerning me.
Sooner or later >> [music] >> turn in my favor.
Sooner or later turn in my favor.
>> [music] >> Ooh, turning around for me. [music] It is a way to get keys and welcome to my YouTube channel.
I haven't been on YouTube for a while. I think it's been more than a year. Life was happening, but I'm really excited because I'm back and we get to do this together. So, I'm so excited today, I promise you. I hope you guys missed me as much as I missed you. So, let's get to it. This is Turning Around for Me by Fashawn Michelle. This is more like just a brass version because it's not the actual song. So, I was just following the vocals. So, these are my own chords. These are my thoughts and I just thought I could share with you. So, we'll be in the key of B flat or A sharp.
Whatever you want to call it. So, yeah, let's [music] get to it.
It won't always be like this. Forgive my vocals as usual.
Okay, so [music] be like this. Be like this.
So, two.
Um that's a C minus seven. So, that's C G A sharp then G and D sharp. If you want, you can add the the A sharp here as well. So, D sharp major ninth.
That that's a D sharp A sharp F and G.
Like this. This uh if it's too much of a stretch, you can just play it like this.
>> [music] >> So, we go to the seven.
>> [snorts] >> The seven that's A F and G. Then right hand, it's going to be C F and C.
Then a rootless chord here.
I love this. It's more like a cluster than the left hand. So, that's an A A sharp. Then right hand, that's F A sharp and F. So, then I think I played um some diminished here.
So, this is G sharp diminished seven.
F diminished seven.
Then the same thing.
So, I'll I'll play it [music] um like one time. So, it won't always four two >> [music] >> You get it? So, G sharp diminished seven F diminished seven then we go back to the C minus seven.
Go to the seven chord.
Whatever this is. Then now we go to sooner or later. So, sooner or later H brothers, this this is really nice, man.
>> [music] >> So, uh this is going to be left hand, that's going to be just A sharp major seventh. That's A sharp F and A. [music] Then we play um just F major here. Second inversion.
Right? Which is C F and A.
Sooner or later it'll turn in [music and singing] my favor. Sorry, it will turn. It will turn. It will turn in [singing] my favor.
This key is so high, man.
Um so, this is going to be A sharp F sharp and A [music] sharp then um right hand is going to be D sharp F sharp and A sharp. [music] So, so, I'm just playing inversions here.
I'm not sure pretty sure if I played it like this, but it's the same thing. So, sooner or later it'll turn in my favor. [music] Right?
Then what I did, I did this.
So, sooner >> [music] [singing] >> or later it'll turn in [music] my favor.
[singing] Look at the timing.
Then sooner or later >> [music] >> turn.
Ooh. Okay.
>> [music] >> So, the timing here is >> [music] >> Okay, let's break it down. So, sooner or >> [singing] >> later it'll turn in my favor.
Then A sharp major.
Uh two chord, that's um C G sharp and D sharp.
>> [music] >> D left hand then A sharp and F. Then here, that's where the magic happens. So, the idea I'll explain where this came from. So, it's supposed to be like this, right?
Yep.
Like a C over an E, right? On the sharp four [music] here.
But I just I just thought to myself, okay, instead of just playing it the C like this, [music] I could play around like this.
I could act as if I'm now in the key of C. So, when I played this, I was thinking as if I'm in the key of C. I'm settling in the key of C. So, that's where it's coming from. I hope it makes sense. So, Okay, so you hold the C.
Then you harmonize.
So, that's B >> [music] >> D and C. Then left hand, that's D F and E. So, >> [music] >> like right with a grace note.
I'm [music] still thinking in the key of C, right?
So, so, I hold the C again then I start harmonizing. Let's start with the right right hand. As I'm holding the C, I played G F and um E.
So, which is five four three in the key of C. Then left hand, I played A sharp A G which will be sharp six six and five. So, >> [music] >> then I just hit the C which is the one in the key of C. So, remember all this all this while I'm just thinking in the key of C, okay? So, >> [music] >> Sorry about that. So, sooner [music] or later it'll turn in [music] my favor.
[singing] >> [music] >> Okay? Play that one more times slowly so that you get the timing. So, sooner or later it'll turn in [music and singing] my favor.
>> [music] >> Right? So, we do the same thing. Now we're going to the sharp four.
The second time.
Right? We play the C major root position over E.
Then we will go to the minor.
Now when I went [music] to this D sharp, I just played the C minor scale, which is C D >> [music] >> D sharp F G G sharp A sharp. Then we keep doing the same thing.
>> [music] >> I'm not sure where I ended. Right? So, I did it >> [music] >> Right?
Simple. So, the fingering that I use for the C minor scale is one two [music] three one two three four, I think. So, yeah, then I keep doing the same thing.
So, remember with the scales, it's all about the fingering.
So, then we ended with So, I literally followed what they were singing cuz they go they went like right?
So, that's what I did. D F then now I played [music] um the second inversion C in my right hand over the E.
Then for the closing, turning [music and singing] for me.
Let's play that again. So, um sooner turning my favor. [music] Then So, I think I did some grace notes.
>> [music] >> Yep.
That will be D sharp D sharp seven.
G minus six, then we play the one, and right hand we just play G and D, [music] but grace note from F sharp.
We play the seven chord, which is um F and C over A.
Then then we end [music] on the four.
Right?
Uh the four, which is the D sharp left [music] hand, then A A sharp F That is it for today, guys. I hope you enjoyed. If you did, I'd really appreciate if you just like the video, share the video. I'll see you on the next one, and God bless you.
