[00:00:17]Ah, hello. Welcome to another art cast today. This is an old one. A lot of these older ones I have to go through and comb through my archives to see if I've actually done an art cast of. I don't think I've done one of this. I'm almost certain. This is uh Velma Dinkley's little sister in her outfit from Scooby-Doo 2, not Velma's outfit from Scooby-Doo 2.

[00:00:46]Um, yeah, this is a commission. Hello, Condor. How you doing? Uh, this is a commission and it's it's crossing the streams a little bit in terms of just Scooby-Doo uh continuity.

[00:01:05]They kind of played it fast and loose with those movies. Oh, this is good. It separated overnight. That's great. Um, but anyway, yeah, it's fairly just, you know, it it is what the tin says.

[00:01:18]Scooby-Doo's uh I mean uh Velma's little sister who totally has existed for most of the uh most of the franchise totally existed and wasn't just made for that one movie. Um a lot how many other Scooby-Doo characters have like brothers and sisters that show up like once? There's uh there's Daphne's sister who was upset that Halloween was on her birthday.

[00:01:52]Uh Freddy's never had a brother or sister.

[00:01:57]Oh, this is perfect. Oh, this is perfect. Um like Scooby-Doo's had like cousins and brothers and stuff, especially in the uh in the cartoon, a pup named Scooby-Doo.

[00:02:16]Today's little um chore or project is I'm patching up some holes in the back of my um mom's closet. She's once again contracted me into doing a little project and I'm patching up some I'm doing some drywall basically.

[00:02:44]And there was this mud yesterday that I mixed up. It's still not quite as thick as I want it to be, but it's better than it was yesterday.

[00:02:54]Oh, this is good.

[00:02:56]If I could separate out the There was too much water. I think my uncle Oh, no. Oh, no. This is totally slopping off my my patching tr Okay. Uh, hold on.

[00:03:20]I need that to dry out or separate some more. Uh I think when he was putting this into storage, he added a whole bunch of water. I did not know this. And mixed everything together and now it is very liquidy, but it seems to be separating quickly, which is a good thing, a normal thing that happens with drywall materials. Hello. Hey, fantastic.

[00:04:09]I think it has something to do or implies that they are cousins by marriage and not by uh genetics.

[00:05:27]Okay, I'll get that ready. What I need to do is uh put in some edging or some trim first, which is not ideal because she chose one with a contour that goes in and not out.

[00:05:49]But I think I'm just going to cheat and use a staple gun.

[00:05:53]I should be using like nails or I should be using That's horrid. Uh, let me turn this around so the white's showing.

[00:06:04]So, when you look in, she's got rounded trim up on this side, but she wanted one that with contour that goes in. So, that's what we're doing.

[00:06:19]Um, and we don't have to. It's again hidden.

[00:06:26]We don't have to be super duper polished about it. So, I think I'm going to try this nail gun first cuz I don't want to be using hammers.

[00:07:03]Uh, which one? Scooby-Doo watched by by Max with Elvirus, Scooby-Doo, and Scarecrow. Oh, yeah. I heard about that one. I haven't watched it yet. I should put that on one of the weirdest episodes. Um, wasn't there one where uh like it it it bridged the continuity between um the 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo with Vincent Price and bridged it with by including Velma and uh yeah, Velma and um Fred were also involved in this adventure and like it showed uh you Now, it was again not horribly fused to like actual continuity, but just played with it a little bit by showing Daphne in a badass like suit.

[00:07:59]Hold on one second. I got to get the the real uh Okay. So, there was one with um I think the one you're talking about, the one with Alvara and Uh, the one with Ovra and Bill Nye and Scarecrow. That might have been, you know what?

[00:09:36]That might have been the movie, the um the sort of TV movie for that one season of uh What's New Scooby-Doo. Not What's New um Guess Who Scooby-Doo? The one with all the where they re try to redo guest stars and everything.

[00:10:00]made a lot of questionable choices like uh Richard Rick uh Ricky Jer.

[00:10:15]So now I got a big staple here and it didn't drive through the um it did not drive through the the the thing. So unless I tighten this.

[00:11:52]Yes. uh Hocus Pocus or uh Abrica Scooby or something like that. And I don't mean to be like whatever as disparaging. I mean I'm focused on other things right now.

[00:12:12]And also again that would probably fluctuate between between from fluctuate from writer to writer.

[00:14:20]I'm going to call you Passa. Anyway, Passa. Um yeah, it was a pretty good movie. It was part of that whole um I don't know exactly what run you would call it. It's the one that sort of started with um I think the Terasaurus.

[00:14:39]Let's see what was in that run. You had the terasaurus. Maybe maybe maybe uh the abracadabra de was uh that's what it was. Maybe that one was the first one.

[00:14:51]But then you have the terasaurus. The one where uh badass Oh, that's going to look adequate there.

[00:15:42]Oh, let's see. And then you have the weird one which was the the swamp uh the swamp music or the swamp musical with vampires which actually opened up beautifully with a song by uh Jim Cummings I believe.

[00:16:14]I was going to say, was it around the same time or was it before the frog princess? Before he played um the ladybug, not ladybug, uh the light night lightning bug.

[00:16:34]Okay, here we go. Come on.

[00:16:52]Yeah, the uh the angle and the the actual no.

[00:17:10]So he had that one. Oh, he had the one where the camp, which was I I think is considered like the best one and the most Scooby-Doo version or the most like closest actual Scooby-Doo as they go. They don't play around with things like by making a musical, introducing any uh any they don't make it musical. They don't introduce any weird relatives. They don't also alter the personality of any one of the main characters. Also, it's just generally like a really good mystery. It's about a under underwater um you know, it's a campsite, but there's a dam nearby and there's a town that got uh flooded by the damned construction. It's a ghost town. It's an underwater ghost town, which is like such a good premise.

[00:18:05]And of course, cartoons visited it at first before a movie did. There was a um there was a a POV movie.

[00:18:25]There's a um you know POV movie about uh under underwater uh divers visiting like a cold water diving port. It was like a ghost town.

[00:18:40]I forget what it was actually.

[00:18:47]I forget what the movie was actually called, but anyway, Scooby-Doo did it first.

[00:18:52]Oh, these. Okay, these walls are crooked as hell. I could Yeah. Yeah, I may actually go and uh cut this edge a little bit to match just so it's not wonky.

[00:19:15]Um, getting back to the actual uh meat and potatoes of what's going on on your screen. I'm just very loosely going from a, you know, 3D model that I made a long time ago.

[00:19:30]Yeah. Like this is version again living with grandma. This must be version three. I have them. I have every model that I've ever made and rigged. This one's not too bad. I could go through the shoulders need some more extra geometry now. I would cut where that diamond that corner is. I would add another loop there and there to give it way more geometry.

[00:20:02]Uh the knees are not pretty are pretty good. and the pelvis.

[00:20:09]I could maybe redirect that to make a little bit more of a uh a little bit more of a sharper connection in between the thighs and the gap.

[00:20:21]Um but anyway this was just a exercise in seeing well can I just can I just like draw from from reference by using vector which means I don't have to like redraw every line again and again and again. Um this this piece is not not my favorite but it's definitely a good experiment.

[00:20:49]Anyway, back to the wall. Back to the closet. Who Who's doing that now? I fed the turtle.

[00:20:58]Is he trying to get in?

[00:21:04]Ah, that's probably what they were barking at. Go on, Babs. I fed you.

[00:21:17]Wow.

[00:21:21]Does he need water? No, I fed him. I fed him all his things. He gets He got plenty of water, right? Well, this is not like an underwater civil. This is like maybe a hundredyear time spans. I mean, people are still visiting it from it's also um I believe Dan Olsen mentioned a different sort of like a a very similar town when he was visiting his lake to prove that the uh earth was round.

[00:22:11]There we go. Okay, this is good. This is good.

[00:22:19]Um, in which the dam was built, like several dams were built. One dam was built and then another better dam was built and then a third better dam was built and it just kind of as people moved away, that's when um, you know, the waters the waters swallowed up what was left of their towns.

[00:22:48]Okay, this is annoying. Okay, here we go.

[00:22:53]Uh Oh. Uh, we found um I was going to say it's been a while since I did one of these. Uh the turtle that the that we found, the one that we sort of adopted for a little bit. Um turns out it belongs to our next door neighbors.

[00:23:47]it actually belongs to a very young child. So, she was very happy to get it back. And um sure enough, when they were describing the turtle to my mother, they said um they mentioned the very distinctive uh chip that she had on her lower plate, the one that you know that uh the one below her head. There's a plate that kind of sticks out. And um when turtles stick their heads into their shell or tortoises stick their heads into their shells and then put their arms up, it forms like a perfect seal for their defensive barrier. And uh yeah, described it perfectly. And we've got the the turtle is now in its own home, which is a much more happier ending than us driving out to the middle of the the um the weird tortoise sanctuary that they told us to take them to. The only thing that was stopping us was the fact that it was such a long drive. It was going to be a whole like afternoon.

[00:25:15]And hopefully we don't have any little turtles down the line or tortoises.

[00:27:46]So, for a while I ended up with the biggest room in the house.

[00:27:56]Ironically, I wasn't doing any filming at that point.

[00:31:21]Um, they say if they're about anywhere between six and 8 in long, then they're ready.

[00:31:28]Um, I don't know if this one's actually, you know what, this one might be ripe.

[00:31:33]I just been doing all sorts of research.

[00:31:35]Um, they say if you can like pluck it or pick it with your thumbnail, and I can with this one, it might be okay. Actually, it's starting to turn yellow as we speak.

[00:31:48]It was pale. Um, it was very pale white when it was on the plant, but after I cut it this morning, the little uh bulbs are starting to smooth out and turn yellow. So, maybe that's just what happens. Either that or it's just a bumpy variety like a a crook neck.

[00:32:11]Um, but okay, this is fine. It's it's white. It's tender and it's got, you know, it's got the waxy skin. I knew some of them weren't ready because they were still like fuzzy.

[00:32:23]It was It's so weird to like touch a squash and then get like this fuzzy feeling because it's still it's the uh it's going from, you know, the uh the stem to the uh plant or the fruit.

[00:32:37]And the stems on squashes are very prickly, very hairy.

[00:32:43]So, I know that much about squash.

[00:32:47]Anyway, that's fine. We'll chop that up and eat it tonight. Um, I also um my Brussels sprouts didn't come in. Looking on the back of the package, it says you need like super special uh you need to like actually grow them on their own as little seedlings first and have this uh special stuff.

[00:33:12]So, I was like, "Okay, no wonder they didn't come in." So, I just uh planted more pumpkin seeds from the uh pumpkin I had last year. And boy, did they take they're taking off.

[00:33:25]I'm I'm going to have to cut two or three of them back and then nurse the other two and then see if I can grow some pumpkins this year for Halloween.

[00:33:37]The okra has kind of stalled, but the uh tomatoes, the peppers, and the well, we have two peppers. Uh sweet peppers and sweet peppers and banana peppers.

[00:33:53]They're doing good. They're growing new fruit.

[00:33:57]Uh we also did an experiment that she learned online or learned from somewhere. Uh take a a romance. Um, we have both iceberg and uh uh John Romero uh lettuce and um and we just planted those in the ground.

[00:34:13]And um the Romano lettuce took off almost like a day later. The iceberg lettuce is showing a little bit of life, but it took a little while longer.

[00:34:25]Um but yeah, and uh we uh we feed the Romano lettuce to uh Babs.

[00:34:32]So, either one of two things is going to happen. Either we're going to plant more of that or his food and he will be able to eat it. Or two, he's going to break into the garden and just decimate everything because I already caught him eating the uh pumpkin leaves, which I was looking it up online. It says it's fine. It's as an occasional treat. You can give it to them. You're supposed to feed him like the other stuff we've been feeding him.

[00:35:04]I'm not even sure if uh Romano lettuce is good for him. They specifically said like collar greens was good for tortoises, but tortoises also just eat damn anything. They eat grass.

[00:43:40]Ever could ever do um a series of sort of uh movies that uh played a little bit fast and loose with uh some continuity. They were mainly like straight to home movies.

[00:43:56]They were straight to home movie, but of course they always premiered on like Cartoon Network, so they might as well have been TV movies.

[00:44:09]Um, I was going to say who was it featured a brother a a a magician and his brother was one of the backup and his brother was played by super nerds Patton Oswald and uh he played New uh Newton on um Symbiotic Titan.

[00:44:42]Oh crap. Okay. Well, one of you guys will get it. Um but yeah, which is actually a pretty good run. Um there was a point where I went from like TMS, like you know, zombie island. Um and then it like dro like it got weird for a while.

[00:45:06]Like I think the one TV movie that is like the lowest rated is um something the ghost of Mexico or something and that was like almost like that weird TV animated uh TV animation quality that ran with Guess Who? Scooby-Doo.

[00:45:30]Um, and then it was just like, well, okay, whatever. I guess the Scooby-Doo is like, uh, and then you have like, uh, what's new Scooby-Doo or Guess Who Scooby-Doo or what's what's it Scooby-Doo? The one that was, um, done by the guy who did Shaolin Showdown.

[00:45:49]Um, I was like, okay, I guess Scooby-Doo's Scooby-Doo for a little while again. And then they did uh Scooby-Doo and the Goblin King, which was like, "Oh, oh, this animation is like really weird."

[00:46:06]Like, okay. Um, it's kind of got a little bit left over from from like what's new Scooby-Doo, but it's it's it's got some spice to it. Um, and then it sort of went into like with the redesigns and of that whole that line from say Abracadabra Scooby-Doo to the last one in that run might have been Oh, the last one I remember watching was the musical one with the vampires.

[00:46:58]And then I think that art style was sort of like revamped a little bit for uh Guess Who? Scooby-Doo. The one that uh was supposed to be um oh uh the new guest star show.

[00:47:22]It was the the uh the talent show one.

[00:47:25]It was either the talent show one or there was one they did for with with the crossover between um Blue Falcon where they brought Blue Falcon back.

[00:49:09]I think it started with um the Huckleberry Hound, the uh the one where he was a cowboy, which I used to rent that all the time from this um this video store, Superstar Video Store.

[00:49:35]Okay, I got to clean the gunk out some more. Um anyway, I think uh the No, maybe the Reluctant Werewolf wasn't part of that series. I know that uh the Boo Brothers and uh the ghoul school was.

[00:50:30]And then in Boo Brothers, it was the hillbilly or the uh Yeah, not the hillbilly, but the uh Well, yeah, hillbilly girl.

[00:51:49]The Blue Brothers is such a weird thing because it's like them trying to like recreate like the Stooges but their own. And of course, uh uh Rob Pollson is one of the Boob brothers, the one with the aviator hat.

It was about giving um Halib Berry who was a a parapolgic um the ability to walk by giving her like hologram exoskeleton over her legs um so she could like walk around and be like, you know, oh this could help people. Um, and the the tech head guy who I think was supposed to be uh a maybe a combination of uh of Willard, speaking of Scooby-Doo, and maybe Seth Green.

And I don't know who the uh I don't know who that guy was. Um but Jack Black was a gorilla. It was fun. I haven't seen the whole thing. I know there's a uh there is a there is a paperback and looking back on it now. I picked it up like first year of college like I recently like got back into it. um like going through all my stuff. So I like looked through and thumb through it. I was like, "Oh, um there's a point at the end where there's a uh a Native American standing on a hilltop who has just seen sort of uh what these kids can do with their animal spirits."

Are we we going down the are we going down the road of the sort of noble Native American who's like, "Oh yeah, you've tapped into like what we've been doing for years with like spirit animals and stuff." I don't even know if Wild Storm's still around.

Uh oh, that's where I heard uh America's Best Comics, which was Alan Moore's sort of attempt at like reconstructing like the American the comic mythos after he destroyed it.
