Fire Emblem Fortune's Weave is an upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 RPG game featuring new character classes like the Puglist (an all-gender brawler class), with a release date expected around August or September 2025 following a June Nintendo Direct announcement. The game is developed by Intelligent Systems with support from Koei Tecmo, building upon the Warriors engine from Fire Emblem 3 Houses but with significantly improved graphics and performance on the Switch 2, potentially achieving 60 FPS. This game represents the first major Fire Emblem title since 3 Houses in 2019, following the anniversary-focused Fire Emblem Engage, and is highly anticipated by the gaming community.

BIG Fire Emblem Fortune's Weave LEAK + Release Date?!Added:
So apparently there is a big leak when it comes to Fire Emblem Fortunes weave. We've got potential new information on some characters from an artbook leak. In addition to that, some classes as well that has not been previously revealed. We're going to break down everything with Fire Emblem, Fortunes Weave, and a bit more. So, this is going to be an exciting one. But before we continue, we are giving away a Nintendo Switch 2 at 140,000 subscribers or on September 1st, whichever comes first. Subscribe, like, comment. The winner will be chosen at random and it's a worldwide giveaway.
Thanks, peeps. So, over on Reset Era, there was a user that posted this and they stated that no idea on the validity of this, but this leak is so minor and would be very strange to go out of your way to fake. We can see an artbook page featuring two generic classes that seem to match the outfits we see on some of the generics in the trailer. Shout out to Fammy Boards and the Fire Emblem Discord for finding these. And as you can see, it looks like there's two separate ones here with the characters. Almost like that traditional olden days type of armor. I like what I'm seeing here.
And if you zoom in, you can kind of see the names as well. So interesting there. Now, another bit here, it says that seems to be a new class called Puglist, an allgender version of brawler, which was male only in Fire Emblem 3 Houses. Now, the image here is for comparison where the trailer generics seem to match this artbook design. So, yeah, it does seem like that is very similar.
This does seem to be a leak from the actual game. A lot of people are really excited for Fire Emblem Fortunes weave, considering how great Fire Emblem 3 Houses was. It's been a while since that last major Fire Emblem game, like with the story and the setup and everything. Fire Emblem Engage was more of an anniversary game for enthusiasts of the series that really know all of the history with Fire Emblem and everything. you can enjoy it if you aren't into everything because the gameplay is still awesome. But if you know all the little details when it comes to Fire Emblem, then Engage was that game, but it was a smaller scope and scale of a game. Fire Emblem 3 Houses was that next major reinvention of the series and that came out all the way back in 2019. So, it's been 7 years plus now at this point or going on seven years. So, it's definitely time for a brand new major Fire Emblem game with the crazy plot points, the multiple different perspectives and angles. I'm so looking forward to what this is going to bring to the table. Now, when could we see Fire Emblem Fortunes weave? Well, I do think that Nintendo is going to have a direct in June. the rumors from reliable leaker Nate the Hate and also another friend of the show and reliable information person Jeff Grub. Both of them have stated that it's going to be a midish June type of Nintendo Direct. Now obviously all of the stuff is happening in June. Summer Gamefest, we've got Sony's State of Play. We have the Xbox games presentation or showcase. So, I do think that Nintendo also returns to Nintendo Directs. The first one since September of last year when it comes to major normal Nintendo Directs. I think it kind of returns to that. We did have a Direct for third parties. That was earlier in February, but I think the big Nintendo Direct where we get the release dates for games like the Dust Bloods, where we get some new reveals for games, Fire Emblem, Fortune Weave release date, and more information on what's going to be happening for the second half of the year. I think that happens in June. Nintendo's release lineup has been pretty stellar for the year. Almost a new game per a month. They're still releasing those.
I'm looking forward to Star Fox in June. Then, of course, we've got Splatoon Raiders as well. Rhythm Heaven is coming out. So, there's still some good stuff to look forward to, but of course, we want to see what's happening for the second half of the year. So, I do think that we could see the release date at a Nintendo Direct announced in June and then we'll probably get the release date I'm thinking around August or September for this one. I do think it's going to be a middleish type of game. I don't think it's going to make it to the fall or to the winter type. I think it's going to be summerish for this game. So, I'm excited for that release date coming up. But, let's also talk about the expectations and the quality of the game. I do think that because Fire Emblem Three Houses was such a highly regarded game, it was the fan voted game of the year at the game awards back in 2019 because the community rallied cuz they felt that it should have been included in the actual game of the year nominations for 2019 over games that was actually rated a lot higher than Control and Death Stranding. Multiple points rated higher on Metacritic and Open Critic. So, people thought that that was a little bit of an injustice. So, they went out there and voted and that's awesome. And I feel that that game was only held back a bit maybe by the ambition of the team and the hardware. Gameplay-wise, you can talk about certain things that some people hardcore Fire Emblem fans don't like or anything, but the combat system did have a ton to offer. There was a lot of different branching story paths and ways, and the voice acting, music, and so many different aspects of the game were phenomenal. So, really, the only issue, the only big issue was the technological stuff. what was happening with the Nintendo Switch One and using the Warriors engine.
The graphics necessarily weren't great. There were definitely some issues there. Even like with frame rate, whenever there was a special attack or something, you would see a dip. It would go from like 30 and dip below for a turn-based game. That's not great. So, with Fire Emblem Fortune's Weave, I think that the power of the Nintendo Switch 2 is going to considerably increase the quality of what you see from a technological perspective. The resolution, the frame rate, all of that should be much better. Now, from what we've seen in the trailers, it's not finished, but it did seem like it was 30 FPS, but I do think that it's going to be 60 fps for the final game, or at least there's going to be a performance and quality mode in the game. So, I do think the final build will have that, so you could potentially get more detailed graphics at 30 FPS, or maybe you get the 60 fps with less resolution. But once again, that's just me speculating. There's no confirmed official on any of this yet when it comes to resolution and frame rate and all of that. that we're just going based off the first trailer, but that is an old build at this point because that trailer was all the way back in September of 2025, which you know, if you make a trailer or if you have a build of something, it's even a previous from what you're working on from up to date. So, they have to put everything together and that does take time. So, I do think by the next time that we see this game is going to look better. It's going to run better. They're obviously going to show way more details. I think this is going to be very impressive and I feel that it kind of needs to be. I do think that Fire Emblem 3 Houses obviously it sold really well. The Nintendo Switch One was going through a boost at that time. People were really starting to say, "Okay, Nintendo is back. They are here with this system. The Wii U, we can wash that out. That's completely done. Let's get into this. The 3DS is pretty much done." I mean, they had a couple games I think in like 2017, 2018, but by 2019, people were fully on board cuz Fire Emblem up until that point, it really was a console series, but then it went to handheld and then now it's back to I guess you can say console for Nintendo. So, seeing that type of graphics and seeing them say, "Okay, we're going to move past what we did with Fire Emblem Awakening and Fire Emblem Fates." So, I do think that this one here, this is their second crack at it when it comes to the major HD Fire Emblem, not something that's kind of like a side thing like Fire Emblem engage. So, I'm very excited to see the quality and what they do with the Nintendo Switch 2. This is a big jump for them. If you look at what they've done over the past couple generations, 3DS to Switch one now to Switch 2, massive jumps in between for Intelligent Systems, and I think they're still trying to kind of catch up when it comes to the development, which they've used Kobe Techmo to help out. And they needed Kobe Techmo's help because Intelligent Systems, I just don't think they had enough knowhow and technical knowledge when it comes to HD development with a Fire Emblem game and what you need to do for that style of game. They did other stuff HD, but I think with the Fire Emblem game, that's why they kind of enlisted Koe Techmo to help out and it's worked out for the most part. Obviously, Fire Emblem Three Houses is the best selling Fire Emblem game of all time by a good bit and it's one of the better rated ones. So, I do think that all of that worked out well for it and I cannot wait to see what they do with the Switch 2. Intelligence Systems, one of my favorite development studios. Koe Techmo seems to be helping out. Based off of what I'm looking at from this debut trailer, it very much looks like they're just using the Warriors engine from Fire Emblem 3 Houses, that same in-house engine. I think they're using that, but just much better quality. And I think that they're using a lot of like the text and stuff from Fire Emblem 3 Houses.
It does seem like they've reused those or at least reuse some of them. And based on some of the text, some of the icons, and some of the things, just like the graphics in the game, it definitely feels like they just enhanced the Fire Emblem three houses graphical look. And they're just making that better because I played that game for 100 hours plus total when it comes to all my playthroughs. And I know it kind of in and out how it looks with some of the things. And Fire Emblem, Fortunes Weave definitely looks very similar. Now, they could change some stuff when it comes to the text and some of the other things. And of course, there's going to be new things and there are a bunch of new things added in, but I just kind of know it. I've seen it so much. So, I'm excited for that because they can just build on top of what they've already done instead of having to completely tear down the house and make something new. So, this Fire Emblem game seems to be when it comes to development, at least from what we know, a lot smoother considering Fire Emblem 3 Houses.
That game was announced I think in February 2017 and then it was supposed to come out in 2018 and then it got delayed from 2018 to early 2019 I think spring and then it got delayed from spring to like summer. So a few different delays definitely had issues but it seems like this one is going to be ready to go locked in and when they announce the release date it's going to be close to the announcement. I don't think it's going to be a game that comes out like four or five or 6 months afterwards. I think it's going to be a game that comes out within a few months of us seeing the game again. So, they did announce it last year. So, yes, it's been some time since then, but I think that the next time that we see it, they're going to have a lockdown release date. So, I'm absolutely excited to see what's going on there. Both Monusoft and Intelligent Systems, both of these development studios, I think that they really bring an edge to Nintendo's titles. They really bring something different that Nintendo, I think, needed that Nintendo needs. More like it. Intelligent Systems have been working with Nintendo for like 40 years or something like that. So, they've always been there, but as essentially a pseudo second party, almost pretty much like a first party, but they're not. They're not owned by Nintendo, but they have such a close relationship and Nintendo has them on their books for so long. It's pretty much like they are. Intelligent Systems is like the unofficial firstparty developer studio for Nintendo despite them not being official. But it's just their partnership is crazy because they do Paper Mario, they do the Warriorware games, they help out with other titles, and they do Fire Emblem. It's essentially a first-party development studio despite them not owning them. And Monoloft, that's another studio that Nintendo works with so closely. And I think that the unique talents that these development studios have from the people that first started the studios and then who they bring in and they learn from, it's something that Nintendo themselves can't necessarily teach. their developers are a little bit different when it comes to how they do RPGs or how they do games. So, I'm really happy that Monolith Soft, in addition to Intelligent Systems, are kind of given the reign to make these type of games because these type of titles, for the most part, you wouldn't see them for other companies. But I think a lot of publishers would have just shut Intelligent Systems down and Monolith Soft down after the sales of some of their games. But it's cool to see Nintendo say, "Okay, you guys, we're going to give you the resources. we're going to give you what you need so you can make these unique type of games that we don't make when it comes to expansive RPGs and things like that, man. So, to me at least, I feel that the unique position that both Monoloft and Intelligent Systems are in with Nintendo, it's like a perfect like match made in heaven when it comes down to it because I don't think these development studios would last anywhere else. I think they would have been shut down just like Model Soft was essentially going to be shut down if Nintendo didn't swoop in to save them because they saw an extreme talent to make these type of games. And I think that the reason why Nintendo's worked with intelligent systems for as long as they have because they have the extreme talent to make certain type of games that Nintendo just can't necessarily do all by themselves, especially Mosoft, but definitely with intelligent systems. Like making a Fire Emblem game seems like it's so much work. Making any game is so much work, but Fire Emblem in particular is just crazy.
The classes, the types, the skills, everything. There's just so much stuff with this franchise.
So, we're finally going to get a new game. It's been quite some time. I think that the power of the Nintendo Switch 2 is going to considerably increase the quality of what we could expect from Fire Emblem. I am expecting there to be 60fps. I hope that there is. I mean, 30 is fine. It's a turn-based RPG. And at the end of the day, I mean, you don't do action stuff in Fire Emblem. But what I'd like to see is I'd like to see a number of improvements over what we saw with Fire Emblem 3 Houses where the loading times were a bit long on that. You did have some issues when it comes to frame rate. You had some issues when it comes to resolution, especially in portable mode. There was definitely some soft images and stuff. So, I think that harnessing the power of the Switch 2, you have DLSS. You have so many different things that this system offers that the Nintendo Switch one doesn't. I think that you can make a much more cohesive experience with Fire Emblem, a style of game that's been made for decades now at this point, but now made perfect when it comes to a hybrid platform. This type of game, this plays perfectly for a hybrid system. Sometimes you want to play it on your TV when it comes to Fire Emblem. Sometimes you want to play it portable, kind of play it, maybe if you're watching a sporting match or something like that, just kind of have it on because of the type of game that it is. So portable play, home console play is going to be vital and making sure that it looks and runs great is important for this one. So I think it's going to be that way. Super excited to see what's next when it comes to Fire Emblem. So what do you guys think when it comes to Fire Emblem Fortune's Weave and the leaks here in addition to what I expect from this one with release date quality and the Switch 2?
