Scary Night in the Animal HospitalAdded:
It's been a super scary afternoon, so um I'm at the animal hospital right now with Tony Soprano.
We've had a terrible scare and >> [sighs and gasps] >> I think I think it's okay now, but it's been so scary. You guys, I'm going to tell you all about it and y'all could give me any advice that you have.
So, I'm at the animal hospital in Conroe. This is the same one that my dad brought Buster to when he got snake bit.
So, let me tell what happened. So, I came home from work today, nothing unusual, normal day.
Um I went and um it had rained a little bit and I got caught in the rain, so my hair was kind of sticky, so I told Bennett I was going to take a shower. So, I took a shower as soon as I got home from work. I got no makeup on, my hair washed my hair.
Um I was actually in my pajamas.
And my neighbor text me. I was talking to Elijah on the phone. We were just catching up.
And my neighbor's like, "Hey, I have a package at your gate. Could you open, you know, could you go out They put it on my side of the gate. They dropped it over and they said she said, "Could you open the gate so I can get my package? I'll meet you at the gate." And I said, "Okay." So, I run out there real fast. Well, Tony goes outside with me and um Renira runs. They have a German Shepherd and Renira loves to run that fence barking at that German Shepherd. It's like a game they play.
Well, Tony runs behind her often. It's not like he's never done that before.
So, Tony runs up and they're running that fence with that dog. And I go to the gate and my neighbor is at the gate and so I pick up the package and um I hand it to her and I turn around and when I turned around, I just my eyes went right to Tony and he was laying on his back.
His little legs up in the air.
And his tongue sticking out to the side and he was just like laying there and my neighbor, she says, "I think he's having a seizure."
Trying to be quiet.
Anyway, I picked him up and he was just like unresponsive. His little arms were just up in the air and his little legs.
And just he made no like he didn't move. Like he just laid there.
And anyway, I picked him up and he was like unresponsive to me.
And I run in the house and um I told Bennett I said I I said, "Bennett, find me a doctor. Find me a a vet." And I was in my pajamas. I ran real fast and put on a t-shirt and shorts.
>> [snorts] >> And um I had Tony in my arms the whole time and I just set him down to change clothes and he's like like he wasn't moving.
And um So, Bennett was Bennett was looking for me an animal hospital or clinic, a emergency room.
And so um I tried to give him a little bit of water and he wouldn't drink anything. He's just his he just wouldn't pull his tongue in his mouth and it was just so scary.
And so um I drove really fast and I got here to Conroe at this animal hospital and they're so nice and very professional.
But they [snorts] took him straight back and then I had to stay out here.
And so I've just been sitting here like you know, your mind starts going crazy like all the things that could happen.
And so um the doctor finally come and got me and I still haven't seen Tony since I brought him back cuz they took Tony back right when I got in cuz Bennett had called and said that he had collapsed. So, they were waiting for me. Anyway, so right when I got here, they took him straight back. And so finally, about an hour, the doctor come and got me, but there were like four or five people here before me, so I'm not trying to, you know, I know that it's everybody's got to wait a little bit.
Anyway, the doctor said his heart's fine. There's no murmur, nothing wrong with his heart.
Um he is recovering. They have him on an IV right now giving him fluids.
And he said it could very possibly have been a seizure.
But um it could have been like he got real overly stimulated, you know, chasing the dog and barking and you know, he stays in the house all the time. He only goes out a little bit every now and then.
So, it could have just been like over stimulated.
>> [snorts] >> Um he could turn out to have seizures and he's only 2 years old, so it's sometimes when it shows its ugly head is around, you know, 2 to 3 years old sometimes.
But they don't treat they don't treat first-time seizure because it could have been an isolated experience or >> [snorts] >> So, um the doctor said he's doing fine now.
That he's just going to get the IV and then um take him home.
And if I want to take him to my vet tomorrow to have him checked out again, I can do that, he said right now he's checked him over that there's there's really nothing.
Oh, they're calling me. Hold on. Okay.
Well, um So, he's doing they said almost he looks pretty normal back there. He's doing real well.
They're giving him the IV fluids.
And then um we're going to be able to go home. So, they do suggest that I take him to my regular vet for some blood work to check his liver enzymes and couple of different things he suggested that I get checked out. So, I'm going to take him to my regular vet to get that done.
Um I've just never ever experienced anything like this ever, you know, with a dog. And it scared me to death and you guys know I love my little Tony Soprano like he's like a child to me.
I just want to see him now because I haven't seen him since I got here and I see the vet and I talked to the vet, but they have Tony in a little room back there.
And so it's like I haven't seen him since I dropped him off. So, I just want to see his little wagon tail. And I just want to see him happy.
And um this is so scary, so if any of you have a little precious dog that has seizures or have ever experienced anything like this before, please let me know.
Um I'm going to tell y'all something that's crazy that just it just went through my mind. So, Tony is on uh some kind of it starts with an S, S I M P something trio.
And when he got a little sick in Uvalde, if y'all remember that, he started throwing up because he ate all them Grandpa's bacon bits things.
Um that vet in Uvalde told me that that medicine can have some negative side effects on a lot of little dogs such as seizures.
But it's the same medicine that Bella had been on for 10 years.
And it's the same medicine that now Tony's been on for he's 2 and 1/2.
But now I'm just wondering like is that medicine causing it? If that vet in Uvalde said that some dogs had had seizures on it.
I have to look at the name of it and tell y'all for sure. It's S I M P, Simparica trio.
So, I think I'm going to hold off on giving him that medicine for a while until I do more research on that.
It's kind of scary.
Maybe I just give him the topical stuff on his shoulder and not give him any of that stuff that goes in his mouth.
It's all the things I'm thinking about now because >> [snorts] >> it was so scary.
>> [sighs] >> All right, I'm going to close this one.
I'm not going to close it out, but I'm going to see you guys in a few minutes when Tony comes out. I'll film you when we get to the truck and y'all can see Tony.
Okay.
Look at here.
He's back.
The vet told me that he was feeling so much better. He said it that IV's going to really help him a lot. And so um I'm going to find some lights here, you guys.
Anyway, so he came out and he nearly Oh, yeah, that's a little weird noise.
You know how you bring home a newborn baby from the hospital and every noise they make you're going to be I'm going to be scared. Everything he every time he makes a noise I'm going to be scared to death.
But he came out and when he saw me, he nearly jumped out of that girl's arms.
Now, when I took him in there, he was very lethargic. Like he was barely moving.
And now he's Is he back to normal? Oh, there he goes with the French kisses again.
You're back to normal with them French kisses. That tongue was sticking out earlier. I thought you was thought it was the end of you, buddy.
You scared me to death, Tony Soprano.
No more chasing those crazy dogs. No, we're We're going to do that no more.
We're not chasing them crazy dogs anymore.
No more chasing crazy dogs.
He's daddy scared to death, too. I called Robert. Robert's like, "Well, where's the hospital at?" Like Anyway, he's like, "Well, what was happening?" And Robert was really upset, too.
Going to be so happy to go home and see daddy, huh?
Yes.
Thank you, Jesus.
Thank you, Jesus. I've been praying so hard. Thank you, Jesus. Okay. All right.
Let's go home and see daddy.
He's all back to normal? He seems normal now. I know. He just keeps He keeps making a little weird noise like What did he Oh, that's your phone. I thought he was gagging. No. What [laughter] did they say?
What did they say? They just said that it could have been a seizure. I mean, there's really no way to know exactly.
He Nothing wrong with his heart.
His heart sounds good and strong.
Um The doctor said he could definitely tell a difference after he given them the IV.
He said, "Yeah, he's much better spirits than when he came in." Yeah.
Poor little Tony surprised and worried about him.
>> And that little dent on his not on his back is where they gave him the IV. And they said that that may go down or it could move over. It's a little just a little watery little patch. It's fine.
Oh my god, I scared to death. Robert scared to death. I could imagine.
And poor little Tony surprised what happened to him.
>> was scared, too. He was just like aw. I mean, you should have saw his face.
His little tongue was sticking out. He His eyes were not responsive.
I set him on that couch there. I laid him on the couch for a second and then he was just like Like he was It was just so sad. And that like his little spirits were down.
>> No.
>> [laughter] >> Anyway, I he's I'm not going to let him go outside for a while. It's like, "We're not barking at them dogs for a while."
No barking at them dogs. He needs to take it easy for a little while.
>> Yeah, we need to rest and take it easy.
Yes. But he did say I mean like You don't know cuz there are seizures that some dogs just are born to and they usually show themselves sometimes around 2 to 3 years old.
Three Two to five is what they said. Did you ask them what you should do during a seizure? I know you're not supposed to do I mean No, I didn't say that. But he told me to go to my vet and let them run some blood work and look for any liver enzymes and stuff like that. But Uh one >> on Life360. I was like, "I just been there 2 hours now." Yeah.
They said one isolated incident, they don't really do nothing with.
But just if it happens again, then they could start trying to Seizure medicine?
Seizure medicine. But right now, it's just he's never happened. He's almost 3.
It's never happened. So we just watch him. Poor Tony. Could have just been a fluke thing. Renira could have kicked him and stepped over him. I didn't even see what happened, you know? Whacked him in the head? She could have cuz you know she gets like worked up.
>> us sometimes. She comes and whacks us.
Yeah, so she could have like actually pounced on him cuz of my back was to him.
>> Or just his her knee coming bam. Yeah.
My back was to him cuz I was picking up that box. And when I turned around, I just saw him laying there.
And Renira was already at the other end of the fence. I don't >> to get rid of Renira. Oh my gosh, no.
Get rid of Renira. Go on back.
We got our little guy back. You guys, it's been a scary afternoon for sure.
Scary for me, too.
>> But I am, you know, I've been texting with Robert and stuff. And I was sitting there and I um Prayed over him? I prayed over him.
And then I thought, "Well, you know what? I want to ask my friends about this because a lot of you all have puppies or dogs Your keys that you love so much. And any advice I'll be happy to have. So Yes.
I'm glad you made it home safely. It was a rainy and wet out there. Pretty rainy and wet. But Well, thank you guys for hanging out with me in the emergency room.
I'm Tina.
>> Traumatizing moment. Yeah, but I talked to them about it. I'm Tina.
>> I'm Rob. We're living off the hill. Bye, y'all. Bye.
