The standard algorithm for multiplication involves breaking down the problem into partial products by multiplying each digit of one number by each digit of the other number, using zero placeholders to maintain place value, and then adding all partial products together to find the final answer. For example, when multiplying 33 × 22, you multiply 2 × 3 = 6, 2 × 30 = 60, 20 × 3 = 60, and 20 × 30 = 600, then add these partial products (6 + 60 + 60 + 600) to get 726.

Standard algorithm multiplication ✖️Added:
going to do some math. We are going to do 20 No. No. I mean 30 >> [laughter] >> 3 * 20 Elvis, stop. What times >> [crying] >> 20?
2 So Oh, crap.
So, how we do this is So, we take this bottom number and times this by this one up top. So, 2 * 3 would equal 6.
Then you take this number again top times that.
Which equals 6.
Now, to show that we're moving place value we put a zero placeholder zero. So, 2 * 3 is 6.
And 2 * 3 again is 6.
So, now we add those partial products. So, 6 + 0 6 6 + 6 12. Put the two down here.
Put the one up here.
So, 6 + 6 + 0 + 1 would equal 7.
So, 33 * 22 would equal 700 26.
Now, to move on here's some something harder.
So, I would say like 57 times 28.
So Okay. 8 * 7 would equal Oh, come on.
Put that one. Put the put the button.
>> 8 * 7 Put the button.
Put the button, Tyler.
56 So, put the six down here.
You have to do plus five to show you're changing uh your um Tyler. I don't know what it's called in the right moment. So, put the six down here. Now, 8 * 5 = 40 plus the five equals 45.
So, Tyler. plus four So, 8 * nothing is zero plus the four would equal >> Tyler. 400 >> Tyler.
What do you That would equal four, so yeah. 450. Now, we're changing to the two.
So, put the zero.
This is a six.
So, put the zero.
And 2 * 7 is 14.
50 You put the plus one up here.
So, 2 * 5 Hey, hey, hey.
So, 2 * 5 is [crying] 10 plus that one would equal would equal 11.
I know it's ain't lined up, but add the plus one and that would equal 1,000 140.
So, we add that. Mhm.
6 + 0 6.
5 + 4, 9.
0 I mean 1 + 4 = 5.
And 1 + nothing is 1. So, 57 + 28 * 28 is 1,596.
I'll see you in the next video. Have a great day.
