Self-love is a journey that involves moving from self-hatred to confusion about self-perception, and ultimately to self-acceptance; the key is to find joy and love for yourself first, which then allows you to engage with challenges and criticism in a healthy way.

my frog wants you to love yourselfAdded:
Hello everybody, my frog wants you to love yourself.
Although the reason why might be confusing. Now long time viewers of the channel, of which there are several, might be a little bit confused right now. They might be confused about the message of today's video because just one week ago we posted a video titled my frog hates you.
So isn't it contradictory? Isn't it kind of isn't it a contradiction to say that my frog hates you and at the same time to say that my frog wants you to love yourself? Don't those two things clash?
Not at all.
Not at all. Those things actually need to work together. If you don't know much about Gerald, it's all good. If you're new to the channel, it's all good. We welcome everybody.
Um a couple of things you need to know about this channel Gerald um hates you. He finds pretty much every single human being on this planet to be useless to him, to be disgusting and just to kind of be annoying. Uh there is in his mind there is no human being on this planet that even compares to him.
Whatever their aura is, whatever their status is, however much they have accomplished on the planet, Gerald has accomplished tenfold. His aura is twentyfold. His status is fiftyfold.
In Gerald's mind no human could ever compete with him. That's why he kind of just is sick by I mean where he's kind of disgusted by our existence.
But here's what we don't want. You know, we Gerald and I we talk a lot about what we want for this YouTube channel to be and we both admit that just the kind of people we are, the two of us, this channel is never going to be the most uplifting thing on YouTube. Uh because we just don't have that in us, you know, to to to deliver uplifting messages on a daily basis.
We also don't want this channel to be depressing. We don't want a bunch of people to come on to our channel and leave feeling worse. We certainly don't want that feeling at least to happen all the time.
The the the ideal balance that we are trying to seek on this channel between uplifting and depressing is right here in the middle, which is confused.
We want you to be kind of confused about how you should feel about yourself. Um cuz if you're confused, then you I think it's better to be to be confused about how you feel about yourself than to not like yourself. Um that was kind of like the steps I took. Was like I didn't really like myself, and then I was just kind of like I don't know how I feel about myself. And now I'm just like, yeah, what I guess I'm I like myself. I'll say it. I like myself.
Whatever. Um What Yeah, sure. I guess.
Why not?
>> [gasps] >> And also, in the video we posted a week ago titled My Frog Hates You, that video had a great reception. A lot of people really enjoyed that video.
They were they People A lot of my viewers are freaks. They enjoy being talked down to. Um because they think it's fun. I think it excites them a little bit. Um all these different things that are taking place.
But there were some people who uh on that video um who who who were a little bit down on themselves, who seemed to be sulking a little bit, who seemed to agree with Gerald in their hatred towards themselves. And >> [snorts] >> that's not what we want on this channel.
This channel two goals.
The or I guess just the two things we want happening at this on this channel is we want you to be able to love yourself. We want you to find that love for yourself. Whatever reason you have for hating yourself, um unless like unless you've done something evil, like truly unforgivable, uh is stupid. Like whatever reason you have to hate yourself, I'd you know, I get it. We all have our reasons, but it's just like what like, you know, I I don't think they're true.
And I don't think you need to hate yourself. And Gerald doesn't want you to hate yourself because we don't want He's not trying to punch down on people who are already down on themselves. He finds no pleasure in that. That's not fun for Gerald.
He He likes finding people who had He He He really enjoys uh tearing down people who are arrogant, but he loves finding people who are self-confident, who who feel good about themselves.
Because he loves to take those people who who who are feeling good and remind them that however good they feel, however awesome they think they are, they're not even close to his stature.
That's what gets Gerald riled up. That's what gets him going. That's really why he wakes up in the morning these days.
Is because he wants to find people who feel good about themselves and remind them they're not even close to perfection.
That is what we want on this channel. We want you to find that love for yourself.
Um I'm a you know, Look, I'm a big believer.
One of the philosophies I have is that uh as you know, cuz there were some of the people on that video were just seemed to be kind of depressed about the world. And I get it. Uh but one of my core beliefs that I have adopted recently and has been helpful for me is that I think the nihilists are probably right and they're also the biggest losers ever and I have no interest in being anything like them.
Um so, I guess I don't really know how that connects with what we're saying earlier. If If you're feeling a little nihilistic, um stop that.
>> [laughter] >> Cut that out. Just find, you know, you can you can find purpose somewhere.
All right. Well, I guess that's kind of all I have to say for today's video. Um Gerald, you know, he He told me a story a couple of days ago as we were cuz we were having this discussion about uh about tearing down people who are already tearing themselves down. And he said, you know, there was a time back in the 1980s. Uh, Gerald [snorts] got famous in the 1980s. Uh, he was located at the Washington D.C. Zoo. He got famous because he was the world old He was like He was literally the world's oldest frog. Uh, he's been in my family now for five generations. So, at that point he was 50, 60 years old.
Biggest like it just the biggest attraction in the world. It was nuts.
And he told me one time, um, his He had this like big caged area.
It's where they all the sea lions used to be. They used to have At the Washington D.C. Zoo, they used to have this big area for sea lions. Um, but then when Gerald became the world's most famous frog, they kicked all the sea lions out. I think >> [sighs] >> I'm trying to remember where they shipped them. I think they just put them on one of those icy trucks and just let that company and their snow cones figure it out.
>> [snorts] >> So, they put him in in this cage and uh, across from him are a bunch of penguins because it was in the Antarctic Zoo. I know they should not have put Gerald in the Arctic part of the zoo. However, he refused to be put in a tidy little glass tank. He said, "I'm the most famous frog in the world. You will put me in your biggest exhibit." Um, and that happened to be where the sea lions were.
Across from him, there are all these penguins and he was constantly talking smack to these penguins.
He said, uh, particularly the fact that they couldn't fly. He was like, "You guys have wings but you can't fly. I can pretty much fly with how far I can jump." And he would just jump all around the cage um, and basically bragging to them. Being like, "You guys have to waddle everywhere you go. You have wings. I don't have wings but I can fly. You have wings and you can't." This was the whole just really being on these penguins. And most of the penguins took it well. They just thought it was funny, you know, whatever. Maybe they were a a little offended. But there was one penguin who every single time would start crying.
Every single time Gerald insulted their inability to fly, that penguin would start crying.
>> [sighs] >> And Gerald just said that it ruined the fun.
It there's there's no joy um in if you are already down on yourself, then Gerald has nothing to take from you.
It really is that simple. Gerald has nothing to take from you.
He wants you to have all the joy in the world, so that way he could just chip away at it slightly.
That's what Gerald wants.
So, find that joy.
And then give just a little love it back to Gerald.
You'll be surprised what it does for you.
