528 Blown HEMI Monster Dyno - Part 2Added:
Welcome back to Nick's Garage and the continuing story of Ross's supercharged 528 Hemi on the dyno. Last time we watched Nick test the engine with a single four barrel to make sure the internals were good before bolting on the huge supercharger and winding the Hemi up to 5700 RPM.
They got a whopping 750 horsepower and torque, but were looking for more when the oil pressure regulating spring shot out of the engine and sprayed hot oil everywhere.
>> You saw the red lights, the latter of fuel. Something there. Something's leaking. Now Nick has got a new spring installed and the oil spill cleaned up and is ready to keep pushing the monster mopark.
I thought for a second that valve cover gasket blew up.
>> Yeah, >> that's what I thought. But I never expected the the cap for the uh valve spring on the uh >> bypass valve on the oil pump come off.
I've never seen that 25 years. No, >> I don't. Maybe we didn't tighten it enough. It's the same pump that came with the engine.
>> Yeah, we never >> we just No, we just opened it up, cleaned it, and put it back.
>> Yeah.
>> Now, what happened after that? I don't know. But anyways, thank god it came off after we >> that test.
>> If you're going down the road, that make a big difference.
>> You got it.
>> So, you want to do some changes? This is our numbers. We haven't changed anything yet.
>> You want to try timing first or you want to do pulley first?
>> You see, if you advance the timing, hold on. If you advance the timing right now and then you put a big pulley, we're screwed up. We have to back up the timing.
>> Okay, let's put another pulley on it then.
>> Want to put the other pulley?
>> Why not?
>> It's a Okay, write down. It's a 55.
We're going to put 53 on. Write that down.
>> Okay. So, here it's a 55 pulley.
>> Yeah, 55. Put it down.
>> That's what's on there right now. We're going to put a 53 on.
Isn't that a work of paradise? Look at that.
There >> you go, big daddy darn garlets.
>> Okay, be Okay, get that. Crack it loose here.
>> Let me just make sure everything's tight.
>> Yes, sir.
>> Cuz I had to do the valve covers.
>> 9/116, I think.
>> Let me make sure the intake is tight. I don't want to blow any gaskets.
>> Yeah.
>> Okay, we're pretty good.
So, we're putting we're taking up a 55 to pulley. We're going to 53. So, in other words, this was a ratio was what?
5.5.
>> 5.5.
>> Where we going now?
>> Well, we're going down to uh 53.
So, we're going down to we're going to be around 10, I think. Have to go look at your chart and see, but I think we're going to be around 10.
>> All right.
The bigger the bigger pulley is on the bottom, so it drives a faster pulley.
the smaller pulley faster. So, we're putting this on. E, this is slightly smaller.
>> Slightly. Doesn't look slightly, but it means a big difference.
>> Makes a big difference. Okay.
>> Okay. You said it. Let's try it. And then we have one slightly smaller than this.
>> So, until we achieve our goal, we're not going to stop.
Heat.
Hey, Heat.
While you do that, I'm going to fill up the carburetors with fuel.
>> Yep.
So what this here is, George, is this gears up here build up pressure. So what we do is we release the pressure every time. Once it goes into a car, there'll be a valve, a tube coming off here that will go into the engine block to take the pressure. So that's why I'm pushing this here every once in a while.
Okay, we're ready. Water line. Open the water line for me. Uh, >> yes, sir.
>> Here we go.
So, now we just changed the upper pulley on the blower. Start let I'll check to make sure the oil pump's not leaking.
>> Okay, let's go.
Heat up here.
Heat.
Heat.
Heat.
Heat.
Heat.
Heat.
756.
>> 756 56.
>> Yeah, your engine peaks out at 5600.
>> You're in the peak.
>> The to number went up at 753.
>> It's not going to make a,000.
>> No, no, I don't think so. I don't think so. I really don't. Unless you want to do you hear it pinging want to accelerate?
>> No. No pinging.
>> Maybe we should advance the timing.
>> Well, we tried.
>> Not sure yet.
>> Advanced or retired? Either one. You know, we got to try which way goes better, but >> Okay.
>> Yeah. Okay. How much is it showing the boost this time?
>> 24 >> 24.6.
>> Oil pressure 78 pounds.
>> Oil pressure is good.
>> I don't I don't think it has big enough cubes.
>> Hey, >> I don't think it has big enough cubes to run 1,000 horsepower. I What is it? Cam shaft or something. It's not going to make,000 horsepower. It's not going to go from 7 to uh >> Maybe we should bring the timing advance.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah. So, bring the timing 20°.
>> Well, we try that.
>> Hey, no, we're bringing it to warning.
>> Oh, yeah. Yeah. I'll just advance it a bit.
>> Yeah, I'll just turn it. See if it gets better. If it don't get better, then we'll have to try to it.
>> Yeah. Go time before you advance it. If you If you go and you pick up, we're good. If you advance it, you might damage it.
>> You might damage it.
>> Go to see if you pick up before.
>> So then I should it now. I should it now. Okay. Let Let me Let me uh Don't I don't need to. Let me do it my way. So it first.
>> I'm going to it. Yeah.
>> He's got a good point, though.
>> Okay. Okay, we're going to back up the timing. Instead of advancing it, we might do damage if there's too much timing. We have 18°. So, we're going to it a bit and we take a test on it and then we see if we gain or lose and we'll take it from there which direction to go.
>> Wow. I thought we going to get at least 2530.
That's all right.
>> We didn't we didn't really run it that high yet or hard yet, but the fuel ratio is good, right? So, >> yeah. Okay. I backed up the time. If you're ready, I'm ready.
>> Okay, I'm ready. You ready? Let's make a backtoback test with just two degrees backed up on the timing. So, I think we got 16°. That's right.
>> Here we go.
water pump. Yep.
Wow, man. This sure making a lot more noise.
We lost it.
We lost it.
We lost everything.
No, it was we're at 7002. That's it.
>> So, it would have made it worse.
>> Yeah, we made it worse. So, we're going to That's it. Let me check for vault train noise.
I'm going to back I'm going to max it out to the Okay.
>> Yeah. So, 20 20 or 22.
We lost 40 pounds of torque on that.
>> Wow. That's a >> I think I got advanced a little bit there.
>> Yep. That's right. Keep going.
I believe I got eight. I believe I got 20 right now.
>> Okay.
>> I think I got 20. I advanced it a bit more.
>> Well, we'll know if it's a little bit more.
>> Just keep going.
>> Let's see. Now, >> we'll keep going. Okay, we'll >> keep going.
>> Let's see. Well, we lost a bit there. We lost that. Yeah, >> we lost everything.
Wow.
I didn't hear no volt train noises.
>> No, but the temperature is a little noisy, but let's cuz you can hear it through the vents.
>> If you didn't have those vents, you wouldn't hear as good.
>> So, it's not bad.
141. I'll cool it down a bit. Let's do it. All right. Yeah, >> it's working.
>> Did you see the oil pressure on all hot?
Uh, >> I forgot to look.
>> We're checking now. Yep.
>> Are you ready?
>> Yep.
>> Here we go.
>> We'll try, buddy.
Here we go. Pressure is great. Look at that.
It went up. Holy mackerel. It went up.
>> Good.
>> Almost 800.
>> Almost 800. And >> horsepower. 8 8. We're still climbing.
>> Oh yeah. It changed.
>> What a difference. Eh. Wow.
>> Holy crap.
>> Okay, here we go.
>> Advancing. Advancing.
>> It needed a bit more advance. Let me go check that smoke. Yeah, >> let me just check it before I look at this. Let's go take a look. Looks pretty good.
>> It's just It's like a blue blow by here.
That's >> Is the oil cap tight?
>> Yeah, oil cap.
>> It's not blowby. Blow by is here.
>> I know, but it it just puffed for a second. It must be >> dripping or something. I don't know. I don't see anything.
>> Something strange here.
>> I'll put I'll put some things on my ears and I'll >> Oh, wait a minute. Hold on.
>> I head gasket. Oh, no. It's not It's not a It's a right here.
>> Hey, gasket.
>> Yeah, it's not. It's not. It's not.
>> Oh, corner.
>> No, you know what it is? That's a drain on the corner of the heads.
>> Oh, we we could retorque the heads when you take off the valve cover.
>> Yeah, probably need to be doing that.
>> Yeah, because it's a drain in the corners, >> right? But, you know, it's we're stressing it out and heating out and warping it.
>> Okay, let's go check our numbers. All right, here we go check our numbers.
Wow. This woke up a bit, eh?
>> Oh, yeah.
>> Now look, with 795 footlbs of torque, you you're going to hit 800.
>> Yeah.
>> And the horsepower we hit 801.
>> Oh, it's still climbing at 6,000. 817.
>> I If we have to go around nine, I I I can deal with that. But I I still want to push that thousand because I want that paper that says a th00and, buddy.
We might have to take those heads off and plate them.
>> You want to bring it up to 9.0 compression ratio?
>> Why not? If you want to do that, we can take off the heads tomorrow.
>> Well, we'll do it. Let's go see how far we go tonight.
>> We haven't put you on the pulley yet.
>> Are you okay? We can try the other pulley, but don't forget more boost.
More and more cylinder pressure, >> right? So, >> yes. So, it's like milling the head.
Same thing.
>> Yeah. Well, we What we at here for boost? 23, right?
>> 24 >> 24 almost 25 lbs of boost.
>> But, you know, it changed the uh maximum horsepower.
>> I think we should you advance the timing. Look at Look at the back there.
Yeah. It's just that that's all. Well, you want to not climb me some more?
>> Well, hold on. We got to try, right?
>> Let me take a look here.
>> You think you're at 20, right?
>> It's still climbing. Look on the glass.
Check it out.
>> Done checking. 816. Right back to where we started.
>> 8 817.
>> 17. Well, 16. So, 16.9 17.
>> 17. We could do better than that. Let's cool on the edge. Make 800 footbs of torque.
>> I don't You want to >> We'll go as max when it stop. When it stops peing, then we'll stop.
>> Maybe we'll max some more timing.
>> Yes. Give a little more timing.
>> Okay. You really woke it up, eh?
>> Yep. You But you didn't go very far either.
>> No, I went two degrees. I >> I mean, you think two degrees. It could be a little more. But >> question is, did you hear it pinging?
>> No, no pinging yet.
>> So, you want to bring the compression up by >> Let's see how far see how much we can get tonight.
>> Okay.
>> I'll I'll put the pulley away.
>> I think we'll advance the time a couple degrees and take it from there. What do you say? Yeah. Try that. Yeah.
>> Okay. Let's go. Two more degrees advance and then we'll see which direction we're going to hit. Yeah.
I say we keep going till it doesn't make it any more horsepower and then we decide from there.
>> Yeah. Come on. We have to hit the We don't want to pass 800 footlbs of torque. I'm not looking for horsepower.
>> Horsepower is highway. We got enough for the highway. I'm telling you right now.
>> Keep going, buddy. Are you okay? You want to have a drink or something?
>> I'm okay. I I'd like to hit 900.
>> So do I.
>> My goal. You want to tell me if I get 900? I think you should be happy.
>> I didn't say I wasn't.
>> You're getting real numbers here, man.
I'm telling you.
>> I know.
>> So, just imagine what happen when it hits a thousand.
>> Look, I want to see 800 torque. And then we changed the pulley. Now, we advanced it, right?
>> Then, now with the other pulley, we have to back it up the timing. Remember that.
>> Yeah.
>> Okay. Now, we just advanced it two more degrees. I believe we're at 22 degrees full advance with our locked in distributor. And I just want to hit the uh I just want to pass over 800 foot pounds of torque. And then we'll worry about after that replacing the upper pulley much smaller to what number?
>> Uh 51.
>> 51. We're bringing up the RPM 200 RPMs.
We brought the timing to 22° and we're going to take it up to 6,200 RPM and I hope we break the 800 foot-lbs of torque barrier. Here we go.
Take Holy.
>> You're nuts.
>> That's That's That's going to Hey, that's that's going to tear That's going You see fuel on the floor? That's going to tear my car apart. Check it out.
>> Check it out. And we still going up.
>> 828. We still need to rev it. 820 horsepower.
>> Torque. Torque is 802.
>> 807.
7.
>> I do not want to be outside the car when that thing is running.
>> I didn't see no oil yet.
>> You know what I mean? You feel it. You can't feel it in here. In there. The whole floor is vibrating. Everything. I never felt that kind of horsepower.
>> 25.7 piece boost.
>> Boost.
>> 22 degrees timing.
>> 22. Yeah.
>> Yeah.
>> 22°. All right. I mean uh that means we could bring up the uh maybe we can bring up the cylinder pressure or it depends now if you put the other pulley on.
>> Well, we try the other pulley first. If not, we can bring the timing up a little bit.
>> I forgot to put the water pump. We run a little bit hotter. Look at this.
>> And more. Yeah. But the >> keep Yeah. Very important to keep the as cool as we can because of the blower. It gets too hot, doesn't push the fuel in.
>> Yeah. Should we try more timing?
>> Yeah.
>> You want to go more timing?
>> Hey, look. It's going the right direction.
>> I know.
>> Okay, let's do it.
>> Give me Give it two more.
>> Give me a minute. Let me advance another. Now we're going to 24.
>> Okay.
Yeah. I don't think you take more than 24, but Okay, I I am marking my distributor at 22° where we made some good torque and power. So now I'm going to advance it another two degrees. I'm going to bring it to 24. And if in case we lose power, I put it back to where I marked at a 22 without using a time light to see uh you know waste time when I know what I'm doing with it. Okay, so now we're going to 24°. Here we go. At 24.7 boost.
>> Yeah, 24.7 boost.
>> We are starting at 3,400 loss. Yep.
We're going to stop at 65 at 24° timing.
>> Then we'll pick then we'll pick up the pistons off the floor. Let's try it out.
>> No, no, no. Don't say >> and we'll get bigger ones.
>> Water rings in it, too.
>> Okay. Blow rings. Yes.
>> Yeah. Thin ones.
>> Okay.
>> Yeah, we're ready. Here we go.
>> Water sensors on. Everything's on. Good.
>> Man, this thing starts good, eh?
Heat.
Heat.
Mama, help me. Put it out. She's looking like a baby.
>> Put it on.
>> 835.
>> 8:35.
>> 838.
>> 838 to 6,000.
>> Okay.
>> 838. 838. And what's the torque?
>> The torque is 8.
We did better before, right?
>> Yep.
>> 820.
>> Right. So, we gained horsepower, lost torque.
>> Yeah.
>> Wait, but you want >> the horsepower is 845 at 5600.
>> 845 at 8 5600. 845.
>> Yes.
>> At 50. So, we don't need to go that high now.
>> No. No. Stay at 6.
>> See, we advanced the time and brought the RPM down on the horsepower. Peak horsepower, >> right? Our torque is at usually at 46 47 820 820 at 47.
>> So we we we gained horsepower, lost torque.
>> That's right.
>> So we need to back it up.
>> We're going to put it back where it was at >> and leave it there.
Heat. Heat.
So, we ready?
>> Yeah. Try it. We're going to I'll check the belt again before you go any further. That's all.
>> Okay. But don't stand there. If something go There's something goes loose, man.
>> I know, man.
>> You got to stand in there when it's going. It's just feel the floor.
>> Okay.
>> It's a hell of a way to go, though, man.
>> I know.
>> Just thinking Just think your TV ratings.
>> All right. So, we brought the timing back to 22° and we went with the upper smaller pulley with a 51 to which is smaller diameter which should give us more boost. And uh let's see how it goes. Here we go.
138.
It's okay. It's okay. It's close, but we'll have to fix that later.
Holy crap.
It's getting uh more of it. It's getting more tougher. You can feel it. Hey, we lost everyone. Yeah, we lost everyone. Take a few Rachel.
Take a few Rachel.
I think we got to pump the timing up a little.
>> Maybe that pulley is too small.
>> What's the timing on this?
>> 22. But we're going to put a timing. I think we're at 22.
>> Yeah, we're 22. We'll try and advance it again. If not, we got to go back to the other pulley and then we'll decide if we're going to We got to fix the head gaskets anyways. Decide if we're going to put new >> No, no, no. Don't worry about the head gasket. Don't worry about that.
>> Agass is only where the drain is on the corner. Don't worry about that.
>> Ratio 13.
>> We should richen it up. What do you say?
We want to richen it up.
>> What's that? 13 >> 138 139 137 136 actually.
>> So it's a lean.
>> I'd like to bring it 129.
>> Should be rich up a little bit. Rich a little bit and give us some timing.
>> Yeah.
>> And see if it goes up. If it doesn't go up, we use the other pulley cuz that's a lot. That p that's on there. We should look up the specs. But that thing on there is going to be a lot of boost.
What? What is it showing that 27 boost?
20 >> 27.
>> That's a lot.
>> That's why I say the other pulley would better.
>> Yeah.
>> Okay.
>> 24. So >> the other one did better.
>> So much you can push.
>> You sure you want? If you want, I could play timing if you wish.
>> We could try timing with this pulley, but I don't think so. I think Yeah, we'll try a little bit more advanced.
You maybe 24 cuz we're at 24.
>> And look, look at this, Philip. The power came in at uh what >> what size pulley is this?
>> 51. 51.
Strange. I'm really surprised.
>> 22.
>> 22. Yeah.
>> Yeah. We went to 24 with the other one.
We can try 24.
>> I could try 24.
>> And if that doesn't do anything, then we get back to the old pulley as much as it'll go.
>> And then we'll reach in the carburetor.
I'm ready when you are.
>> Okay, we got this. Hey, >> I advanced it. Yeah, I advanced the time. You ready, Ross?
>> Oh, boy. Here we go.
>> We're going to 6,000 RPM. Here we go.
Okay.
>> And we got time.
>> We don't need 62. We just need 6,000.
>> Yeah, I'm going to 6,000. We got the small pulley and we at 24°.
>> Exactly.
>> Here we go. Are you ready? Ready.
47 boost.
There we go.
>> So, we got 808 or 812. No, 8 >> 825. 825 >> at 4500. 844 4500. We have 825 footlbs of torque. 825. And what we got >> horsepower, we're at 831.
831.
>> So we're close. We're almost close.
>> Yeah.
>> Over 800.
>> Yeah, we're both horsepower. Both over 800.
>> That's pretty amazing.
>> I know.
>> 833 horsepower.
>> No.
>> That's pretty amazing, man. That's in incredible.
>> Easy killer. Easy killer.
>> No matter what RPM is at, when he kicks it, forget it. Look at 4,000 RPM. At 4,000. Look. 823 footp pounds of torque.
A 824.
>> You're not gonna This car is going to spin forever, right?
>> I know. That's the whole idea. It's going to fly with the tires.
>> You're going to smoke the tires.
>> Of course, you're going to fly the tires. Okay. So, listen.
>> So, what do you think?
>> Oh, yeah. You keep this pulley on it or we go back down to the or back to the 53 pulley.
>> We're throw some uh he's analyzing. Let me check. I like these numbers. I want to check I want to check the engine. Let me take a look.
>> Look. God, it's only 200 horsepower off.
>> I love the rear seal. It's holding. I love it. Look.
>> Yeah.
>> Nothing there, right?
>> Yeah.
>> Okay.
>> Why would Why wouldn't that hold?
>> I don't know. You never know.
>> Okay. Now, it's double the hotness.
>> Double.
>> It's not bad yet.
>> Don't forget more boost, more heat.
>> Yes, sir. Of course.
>> But the temperature of the engine is good, though.
>> Yes, it is. We We took off at 140.
>> Yeah. You figure how much I'm up to so far, and then we'll decide if we plane the heads a little bit.
>> You want to plane the heads?
>> We'll see. You want to try 26 timing?
See if it gets worse or better.
>> Yeah. And then we we'll know.
>> And that's as far as go. As far as we can go. Yeah. Can't we can't go.
>> You sticking to this pulley. You sticking to it.
>> We're going to start with this pulley here. We're going to try 26. We did. We did the best horsepower with the 53 pulley. Am I correct?
>> Yes.
>> Okay.
>> But the torque wasn't the same. Right now, we got torque and everything equal.
>> This >> pretty much for the highest numbers either way.
>> Well, no. You want more torque. I want more horsepower.
>> Okay.
>> That's why we're together. We're good.
Torque. I don't you you know what? We do not need to look for any more torque. We have enough.
>> Well, I know the torque too, but the horsepower and torque go together.
>> So, okay, we'll advance the timing a couple degrees and we'll take it from there.
>> That's as far as we can go. 26.
>> Okay, we're going to advance it two more degrees. I think we're going to stop there after that.
So, we did a test here. Not too bad, but we advanced two more degrees. We brought it up to 26 and then we're going to stop there. And we seem to have the better power and torque numbers with the 53 pulley, which is the one previous, which is slightly bigger versus the 51 we just installed. So, we're just going to make a test with the uh 26 timing, and then we'll leave it at that.
>> That's right. Okay, here we go.
Yeah, we're at we're at 27 lbs of boost now, and it's not taking any more. So, there's no use making smaller pulleys.
We can't push, like Phil says, we can't push anymore through the engine, right?
>> Yeah.
>> Need bigger heads now.
>> Yeah.
>> Other heads.
>> Here we go. They don't come any bigger.
I don't think I liked it.
>> Okay, there we go.
>> It went down.
>> No, no good. Too much timing.
>> Yeah. Okay, so we know now the open timing is 20 22 to 24. 22 24 with the other pulley.
>> Yep.
>> 24 with the other pulley. That's where we're at. So >> 26 with the other pulley.
>> Well, we didn't we stopped at 24.
>> Hit the time 26. Change the pulley.
>> Yeah. As I said, we we tried that. We didn't try that before. We only went to 24 on the last pulley. Want to change the py and try that one more or you want to let it go.
>> It's up to you.
>> No. I don't think >> No, I don't need to make another pull.
No, no, >> no, no. I'm saying with the other with the other pulley.
>> So, we're going to back up two degrees and put the other pulley.
>> No, we're going to leave the timing where it's at and just >> Oh, yeah. But we need to try this timing with the other pulley. back. Let's do it slow.
Heat. Heat.
Guess it won't be playing the radio when you drive this car.
>> That That is your That is your radio.
>> I know. You ready? Yeah.
too much diving.
838 and 5600 the same place. 5600 all the time.
>> And our torque numbers are 814 815 816 at 4200.
817 817 at 4,100.
Even less RPM.
>> Yep. So, I think the pulley is the right size.
>> Yeah.
>> And what do you think about the timing?
>> Uh, I don't know.
>> Back it down a little bit.
>> I'm thinking I'm thinking. Mhm.
>> I I don't think we're going to go any further forward. I don't think >> Go timing. No, don't go.
>> I I I think if we're going to test anything, we're going to go less back up.
>> Yeah.
>> Okay. So, 24 is a magic timing.
>> It is probably that's your backup. This is regular pump gas.
>> I know that. I know that.
>> We put 112 in that baby, you might get 900.
>> An 8.3 compression ratio.
>> What's your timing? 26.
>> 26 right now. But that's too high. I think we'll go 24. We don't have the buck up a couple degrees.
>> Okay.
>> Okay. Let me buck it up.
>> Okay.
>> Let me do it.
God, we're taking a beating on this one.
E, you know, I just never give up. And every time I got a client here, we try this, try that, try this to satisfy them. Sometimes we don't get the power we want, what we're aiming for. But sometimes, you know, it's not easy. But this is real numbers what we're getting.
And he's got more than enough for a street car, especially in a 69 dark. But you know, I want to make Ross happy.
Let's keep going.
Let me back it up another two degrees and we'll take it from there.
Here we go.
Ross, >> this is it, buddy.
>> Let's go.
>> 6,000 Heat up here.
The torque is on the horsepower now.
Look at the way Look at the way it idles now. Hey, look at the way it idles. It like more advanced. Hey, it like more advanced.
>> Yeah. Look, look.
78. Yeah.
>> I guess I like more advanced timing, eh?
>> Yep.
>> We lost.
We're only at 8 800. Only at 800. So >> So in between.
>> Yeah. So we got to go back to two uh 26.
>> Okay. So the we got to advance the timing.
>> That's what I like at 24.
>> Got to go more.
>> Yeah. I'm going to go more timing.
>> Okay.
>> What What is this timing? 24.
>> 24 right now.
>> 24.
>> Well, let's go 26 now with this pulley.
Right.
>> Right.
>> We went 26 at this point.
>> No. No. We're going to go 28.
>> Oh, 28. Yeah.
>> 28. Wow.
Okay, we're going to go 28 photo and then uh I'm going to put the timing on this one just to be sure.
>> Okay, >> we got it. Or no, I don't want to change my rhythm. I don't want to change my rhythm. Let me stay with the same rhythm.
>> You got the rhythm. All right, Nick.
Well, we have the timing to 28°.
We left the uh 53 to pulley on top and uh let's wish for the best. We just want to make back our power we had before, but also going with two degrees more advanced to see if we could surpass our test before that.
>> Exactly.
>> Okay.
Okay. Here we go. I doubt if we need another test after that. I mean, >> we're good. We got evident information.
We got >> This is the time that goes out, man.
>> Yes, big time.
Okay, this is for all the marbles.
Here we go.
Wow, that was quick. Hey, that was quick.
>> Yeah, if we do any further tests, we're going to have to richen it out. No, but that was quick.
>> Yeah.
>> How fast it revved up like that?
>> Here we go.
>> There we are.
>> 831 832 832 at 5700 RPM. Our torque numbers came up to 8 820 at 4,300.
>> I think that's where we're at, buddy.
>> Okay, hold on.
>> It's like a lot.
>> Yeah. Strange, right?
>> 10° off 18.
>> Wow.
>> You go board timing.
>> I don't know. No.
>> No. No. I think >> Listen, we could >> No, I like to richen it out.
>> Yeah.
>> We're on the board with the air fuel ratio, >> right?
>> 136.
>> These do need extra fuel cuz help run cool.
>> Yeah. Okay. So, but >> maybe tomorrow we'll take apart the carbs and put bigger jets. Run it in there or take out the U air baits.
>> One or the other. Okay. So, as of today, Ross, our best numbers on torque, foot-lbs of torque. At 4,300 RPM, we pulled out 822 footlbs of torque. A lot of torque.
>> That's right, baby.
>> And of course, horsepower. At 5600 RPM, we pulled out 845 horsepower. I know you're looking for 1,000 horsepower.
>> Well, that's just today, though, Nick.
>> I We're we're we're going to continue tomorrow. We're going to richen it out a bit. Anyways, we just got ideas what we're going to start with and what we're going to do with. We're going to richen it out. We will continue tomorrow. Got it off tonight. We're going to stop here now. We'll continue tomorrow >> and we'll put some thought if we have any more ideas.
>> That's right. It sounds great.
>> And Nick, I want to thank you for spending a long day with me today. You and Phil and uh it's been a great day so far. And tomorrow's going to be even better.
>> Okay. So, stick around.
>> Okay.
>> We have more testing to do.
>> Can I come back, Nick, or what?
>> Come back. Well, you're in town anyways.
Okay, I'll come back.
