Church history serves as a foundation that grounds believers in their faith, provides identity, builds faith through shared trials, preserves biblical doctrine, and perpetuates the ministry's legacy; knowing church history helps believers understand God's faithfulness across generations, defend against false teachings, and fulfill their missionary assignment to spread the gospel.

>> You're welcome to take your seats in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
>> Greetings to Pastor Power and Pastor Linda Spa, the elders and the deacons and the church of God at large. Amen.
of God who God has graced me with and allowed to do the meus Christ. Amen.
>> We've been married for 23 years of God's grace.
>> Hallelujah.
>> So when we celebrate the church anniversary, it's significant in our lives as well because we see the grace of the God of Ezekiel. Hallelujah.
We will tell you more as we go along.
Amen.
We're humbled to be here in Cyprus uh as we've come together to celebrate 66 years of God's grace in our ministry.
Amen. A ministry which was started by God himself through the born servant Archbishop Professor Ehouti right back in Gaw in Zimbabwe under a gum tree.
Amen. And what I love about this church is that it preaches an undiluted gospel of truth, the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Amen.
>> For it is an extension of the book of Acts. For those of us that don't know where Acts is, it's in the New Testament where the full gospel of Jesus Christ is preached anointed by the Holy Spirit.
And that is literally what forwarding faith is about. It continues with signs and wonders as was in the book of Acts.
Amen. Anniversary. Oh yeah.
>> Now we cannot talk about uh the the history of the church without touching and talking about the history of our father whom we see here the legendary the global icon the greatest apostle of our time who preached the undiluted gospel. Amen. And in the spirit of adversary by the grace of God I will be sharing on the importance of our history of our church history as Zoja forward in faith. Can you say to your neighbor the importance of our church history?
>> Importance of our church history.
>> Amen. Now when the book of history was being read I was saying to pastor oh she's taking my message but it's just confirmation that we are in the right uh track. Amen.
Shall we open our Bibles to the book of Joshua 4 verse 5-7?
Joshua 4 verse 5-7.
And for those that may not know where Joshua is, it's in the Old Testament.
Joshua 4 verse 5-7.
I shall read from the New King James Version. It reads, "And Joshua said to them, cross over before the ark of the Lord, your God, into the midst of the Jordan, and each one of you take up a stone on his shoulder, according to the number of tribes of the children of Israel, that this may be a sign among you, when your children ask in time to come, saying, "What do these stones mean to you. Then you shall answer them that the waters of the Jordan were cut off before the ark of the covenant of the Lord when it crossed over the Jordan. The waters of the Jordan were cut off. And these stones shall be a memorial to the children of Israel forever more. May God bless us through the reading of his word.
>> Amen.
>> Two key words in my title this evening.
importance. It is how much something matters and history is an account of past events. Now before I dive into my message, I shall quickly touch on the background of the chapter that we have read. We come across the Israelites who were entering the promised land. As soon as the priests carrying the ark of the covenant stepped into the Jordan River, something miraculous is recorded in the Bible. Something miraculous is said to have happened. The water that had been flowing had completely stopped. The river bed had become dry ground and Israel could cross over safely. And right after they had crossed over, God gave a specific instruction to Joshua for 12 men to collect 12 stones and set up a memorial which was to serve as a reminder of this great deliverance and transition for generations to come.
Amen.
Now what I like about this passage, it shows us that God is a specific is a God who is specific. It says he gave a specific instruction. We serve a God who specifies precisely how things ought to be done. Amen. It was exactly the same God who gave specific instructions to his born servant Archbishop Professor Ehouti how the ministry ought to be founded and how it was going to grow across the globe currently hitting over 177 nations and states.
>> He is also a god of history. Why am I saying this? When we read the Bible, when God wanted to reveal himself, when God wanted to change the destiny of a nation, he would identify himself with history in order to relate to man. He would take them back in time, reminding them of things that he had done in the past. And then when we cross over to the New Testament, Jesus would explain the scriptures, connecting them back with history. That is the nature of the God whom we serve and we worship. When you read the word of God, the prophets and the apostles too, they would turn back in time to history. Remember we said we are learning about the importance of our church history. Amen. History is important. History is significant. The stones which God instructed to be collected were to serve as a reminder for generations to come.
The history of our church and the history of our founder are very important. We cannot separate the two.
Amen. Let us turn to the book uh to our book of history on page 35. If you have a copy uh I shall read.
Therefore, I say there must be the anniversary of the church every second Sunday of May in remembrance of the founding of this church and its founder.
Amen. We cannot separate the history of the church from its founder. Hallelujah.
Now in my sharing this evening I'm going to touch on five just five key reasons why the knowing the history of our church is important to us of children of Zoja forward in faith. I want to say to someone it is biblical to be acquainted with the history of our church. It is biblical to be acquainted with the history of our church. Someone didn't hear me. I'm saying it is biblical to be acquainted to be in full knowledge of the history of our church.
>> Deuteronomy 32:7 says, "Remember the days of old. Consider the generations long past."
>> This shows us that God values history.
God values history. Amen. When we look back, it helps you and I to understand his faithfulness from one generation to another. It helps us to understand his faithfulness from gen one generation to the next. Amen. The Bible teaches us to remember. The word of God teaches us to learn. The word of God teaches us to stay grounded and to be encouraged by those who went before us. By those who walked the walk before us. You and I need to know the roots of of our ministry. You and I need to know the origins of our history. We ought to be grounded, not just to be grounded, but to be well grounded. Not just to be well grounded, but to be well rooted.
>> I'm thinking of a tree.
>> A tree has got roots in it. And when it is um planted in the ground and if the roots are sunk right into the ground, regardless of what season of weather comes through, whether it is it is hail stom, whether it is rain, whether it is sun, if the roots are deep down, the tree will just be shaken, but it does not come out of the ground. It does not move. And that is what ought to be of you and I when we talk of the history of Zoja forward in faith. Ask your neighbor, how well rooted are you in the history of our church? How well grounded are you in the history of our church?
>> Church history is our foundation. Church history is our foundation. It is the pillar on which you and I ought to stand. History will help me. It will help you to have a secure understanding to know where this ministry started and where it is going. Amen. Now as children of Zoja forward in faith, our history is found in these books. Our father would always say it's all in the books. I know it sounds like a cliche statement, but believe you me, when you read this book, you become more familiar to see where the seed began and you begin to see how far and how big the seed has grown.
Hallelujah.
>> Amen. And what I love about this book as well, there's a lot of things I love about my church. I love these books because they carry the undiluted gospel of Jesus Christ. Our father will give a teaching. He will give a testimony. He will give a an experience of life that he went through and then he quotes from the word of God. The undiluted gospel of Jesus Christ. These books are grounded in the word of God. How many of us have invested in church in our church literature? If not, you need to make an investment in that. Amen. Sacrifice your she cut, sacrifice your haircut, sacrifice your shopping spree for at least one book. You will not regret it.
Amen.
>> And when someone to someone stand here and preach to us and they will and they are teaching things that you are not sure of, you are allowed. That is the liberty we have in this church. You say, "Pastor B, you were saying 1 2 3 4 5.
Can you please tell me where did you get this information from?" And pastor B will pull out a book and says, "Ah, rightly so. In this book, our father says, and he needs to open the page and say on page 65 of the local church, this is what Baba says." But if you don't have the book, people will come here and teach us things and preach things, but because we've lacked the knowledge, we will just sit there giving it an amen, giving it a hallelujah. But yet, we have been taught the whole tree.
>> 4 says, "My people perish because of lack of knowledge.
>> Without knowledge, we will perish.
Without knowledge, we sat in those benches and just saying, "Amen." Amen.
But yet the preacher man is not teaching us what is in the books. Yet the deep preacher man is teaching a diluted gospel. Not the true undiluted gospel of truth which the bold servant of God taught us which the message which he was given by his God for yours and my salvation.
>> Praise God.
>> You want to refuse to perish. You want to refuse to be a generation that is going day by day, Sunday to Sunday, week to week, Monday to Monday, month to month, year in year out on ignorance.
>> Refuse to perish.
>> Refuse to perish. Without knowledge, we have fed the wrong information.
>> You want to refuse the wrong information. You want to be able to say, "No, brother, that is not part of our church. No brother, that is not what our father taught us. No brother, that is not what our mom, the senior arbishop, teaches us.
>> But you can't do that when you don't have the knowledge.
>> Hallelujah.
>> Without an accurate historical information.
>> If someone says the church was started in 1923, you'll be able to say no, no, no, no. That was when the archbishop was born. The church was founded on the 12th of May 1960.
>> But without the knowledge, >> it's just amen.
>> Preach on brother. Come on now. Right.
Fire. Fire. Fire.
>> Agreeing to false information.
>> Desire to be deeply grounded. Desire to be deeply rooted in the history of our church. In this book, page 72. Again, they need to be quoting the pages. Page 72 of this book, our father says, we use the books. Then he goes on to say a few sentences later, read the books of the church.
>> Amen.
>> How many books have you read, my sister?
>> How many books have you read, my brother?
>> It's all in the books.
>> It's all in the books. Remember I said they are deeply rooted and connected to the word of God. Baba will teach, he will preach and then he throws in a verse, then he dwells on scripture before moving on to another example.
How many books have we read?
>> Point number two, history gives you and I identity. Can we all say identity?
>> Identity.
>> Identity reveals who we are. So when people see you, they should be able to associate your conduct with Zoga forward in faith. The way you carry yourself with faith, >> history will ground us in what we believe in. Hallelujah.
>> It's in the books. I will turn to page 15.
>> It reads, "What is Zoja forward in faith?" Zoja Forward in faith is the sacred ministry of God started in Zimbabwe which was believed and accepted by Zimbabweans and spread in many nations even overseas. We are in the overseas but it came from a seed that was f planted in Zimbabwe. It then goes on to say Baba goes on to say it is not a new doctrine but it is built upon the foundation of the apostles the prophets Christ being the cornerstone. This is therefore not our own doctrine but the doctrine of Jesus Christ which was fulfilled on the day of Pentecost.
>> Hallelujah.
>> Hallelujah.
>> Amen.
>> History grounds us in what we believe in.
>> We don't consult witch doctors.
>> We don't consult dead people. We don't consult ancestral spirits. We don't do magic in we don't do genies in a bottle. We don't do oil. We don't do water. The only time we use oil in our church, I'm sure you've seen it, was when our archbishop, our father Baba Joe was being ordained and many other similar occasions. But we don't carry bottles of oil with us wherever we go for divine protection, for l.
We do the blessing of the God of Ezekiel.
>> We don't do lucky charms. I was happy to hear my sister testifying to say that they would carry water.
>> They would be spliced or sprinkled with water. Thank God for Zoga forward in faith. We believe in Jesus Christ and nothing else but Jesus Christ.
>> We believe in the word of God and nothing else but the word of God.
>> It doesn't matter what your church said before she died. It doesn't matter what your before he died. When you rest on the word of God, when you rest on the promises of God, you are able to cancel it. You're able to fight back with the word of God. When he declared that you you will die a loser, you will die in poverty. The word of God says you shall prosper >> and you shall prove to them that I am prosperous. I am blessed of God. But how do you do that when you are not acquainted with the history of our church?
>> When our father said we don't do which doctors you have found this thing, can you send me some charms via DHL?
>> It's happening.
>> Hallelujah.
>> We've seen it happening. We've heard of it happening.
>> But in this church, we don't do that.
>> We practice holiness.
>> We practice just like the praise and worship we stood here. I would like to believe they took time in the run up to anniversary to meet and rehears. If you saw their dances, they were in sync.
Others were not doing this while others were doing that. Others were not doing this while others were doing this.
Everything they were doing, it was in uniform. Why? Because they were practicing.
>> Someone made a choice to say Thursday 7 p.m. there's practice for praise and worship and they were bound here. The musicians made an effort to be found and practiced.
There was intention, >> there was intention, >> there was choice, >> there was deliberation.
>> And that is the same thing you need to do as a child of Zota.
Regardless of what is being said out there, you will stand and say not in this church.
>> Hallelujah.
>> Not as a child of Zota.
Why? Because you know the dos and don'ts of this church. You know what you ought to do as a child of what he say.
>> Amen.
>> Hallelujah.
>> Our father for the hundred years that he was on this earth was governed by a statement. He lived by a statement. I would like to believe he breathed it day in day out. Fear not, sin not.
>> And that is why you and I are here today. We wouldn't be celebrating 66 years of this ministry had he done otherwise. Had he lived contrary outside to the will and the purpose of God had he not lived a righteous life >> but because of his obedience >> because of the fear of God >> because he chose to identify with the principles of Jesus Christ. You and I are gathered here today as one family celebrating 66 years of God's grace when we went to be with the Lord Van after he had preached the gospel undiluted message of God for 75 years.
>> Come on.
>> Hallelujah.
>> Praise God.
>> When we read the book of history, it will remind us and guide us as to why we exist as forward in faith ministries.
Amen. and the mission, the assignment.
Do you know that you've got an assignment?
>> As you are set here, as you are here in the nation of Cyprus, do you know that you've got an assignment?
>> Someone is thinking, what assignment is this? I'm just here for university. I'm just here for work. No, brother, you are here on a missionary assignment. The only thing that is missing on you is the title of pastor. But in that office that you hold, in that capacity that you hold, you are here to win souls to Jesus Christ, you are here to perpetuate the gospel of Jesus across Cyprus.
>> So stop waking up and thinking about being me, my decree, my degree, my job, my job. You're here on an assignment to perpetuate the gospel of Jesus Christ, to preach the gospel world to all over.
Hallelujah.
>> Hallelujah.
>> Our father in this book of history, he says that God's tiny mustard seed has now grown big and given shape to many nations beyond those that are mentioned in this book.
>> So you and I ought to desire to be grounded in our church. Hallelujah.
>> Point number three. Point number three, history helps to build our faith. When we turn to the book of Psalms chapter 78:E4, it says, "We will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord." Hallelujah.
>> We are strengthened by what we hear.
When we find, when we know what the church has gone through over the years, when we read of the trials and tribulations that our father went through, it will build our faith. Amen.
The journey was not easy. Page 10 reads, "This ministry was born and has come this far, withstanding all hardships, trials, persecution, and being attacked by the enemies of truth through intensive prayer and fasting." It wasn't easy for this church to be here where it is 66 years later. There was a man who would drink water from bowels that were drunk from dogs. There was a man who spent three months sleeping in an upright position fighting and defending the gospel of Jesus.
>> There was a man who gave up his job so you and I could be here. There was a man who sometimes went without so that you and I could receive salvation.
>> You need to read the 1957 prayer again, brother. You need to cry for revelation when we read that prayer because you and I are a product of that prayer.
He didn't cry for his own life. He didn't cry for his family's life. He didn't cry for his mom. He didn't cry for his siblings. He cried for Africa.
You and I are part of Africa. You and I are what he was crying for in 1957.
So regardless of the trials you go through, you need to remember >> that they are part and parcel of life.
But we stand firm in the word of God. We raised in his promises knowing that as the church went through seasons, so shall I go through seasons as a child of God. But you know what our father says?
You shall overcome. You and I shall overcome. You and I shall overcome. You and I shall overcome. Hallelujah. Amen.
>> Philippians 4:9 says, "The things which you learned, the things which you received, heard, and saw in me, these things do, and the God of peace will be with you."
>> Hallelujah.
>> So, church history is an account of what was heard.
>> It is an account of what was seen.
>> Hallelujah.
>> Hallelujah.
>> Through the history of the church, we are connected to those who walk the walk before us, their lives, their sacrifices. In this book of history, Baba includes many other people that he encountered in the growth of this church. History serves as a timely reminder that if God did it be in G, God can do it here in Cyprus. If God did it in Harare, God can do it here in Cyprus.
If God did it in Bura, God can do it here in Cypress. It's not limited by space. He's not limited by time. The same God who was in 1960 is the same God who still is 66 years later.
>> But you can only experience him when you tap into the spirit of this church. When you read these books, you're tapping into the spirit of this church. You're getting closer and closer to the God of this church.
>> Hallelujah.
>> Praise the Lord.
>> Point number four, history preserves our church Bible doctrine. Second Timothy 1:3 says, "Hold on to the pattern of sound teaching." Now, you and I are privileged to be the Eeneration. We are we are part of the Eeneration. Amen.
>> But we're also unfortunate in the sense that in being part of the Eeneration, we are being exposed to so much information.
>> Some of that information, it's good, it's beneficial, it's useful. But yet at the same time that same information is destroying us. It's misleading us. Some of the information is untrustworthy.
But what will guide us, what will protect us, what will deliver us is knowing the history of Zoga forward in faith which is grounded in the word of God. How our father defected the gospel.
He would preach follow me as I follow Christ. Unlike other founders and other missionaries who said come to me, follow me I am your way to heaven. He never said that. He said follow me as I follow Christ. He then went on to say imitate me as I imitate Christ.
>> Praise the Lord.
>> Hallelujah. And because of that, he was able to do great exploits, preaching the word of God for 75 years, nonstop >> until he was promoted to glory. And today, even after he's gone, the church continues to grow.
>> When he went to be with the Lord, I'd like to be that the church was established in at least 160 plus nations. But here we are a few years later in over 177 nations instead. This shows the nature of the man who founded this ministry.
>> Hallelujah.
>> Hallelujah.
>> When we know the history of our church, we will not be swayed. We will not be moved. We will not be a bit do a bit of wa or this other church on the right or this other church on the left. We will say I belong to faith. My mother-in-law always says to me in English sit with bottom. In other words, I can't do I can't do I stay inside.
I will not do I will not do this one. I will stay inside.
When you know your history, you will be bought. You will be confident regardless of what is happening out there. My last point, point number five, history will help us to perpetuate the legacy.
History will help us to perpetuate the legacy.
>> From the passage of scripture we've read, it wasn't just about the stone. It was the storms were not just about the miracle, but rather they were to serve as a reminder of the journey of the people, what they had been through, where God had taken them from, and where God had taken them to. Hallelujah. Same way for us as children of Zoja forward in faith. These books here are our three stones. These books here are our three stones. They will help us to build the knowledge of our church. How God walked with our father and what you and I ought to do in order to take the legacy forward. Amen.
>> Hebrews chapter 13:7 says, "Remember your leaders." And today I am saying remember the born servant of Jesus Christ. Imitate his faith just like the book of Hebrews encourages us to do.
Amen. If the stones are ignored, these three stones if they are ignored, miracles will be forgotten. The purpose and the vision will be lost and our identity will fade. Hallelujah. Without full knowledge of our church history, you and I will become ruthless. We will become unstable. When the wind goes north, we are there. Should the wind blow east, we are there. We will not be strong members. Hallelujah. We will be easily influenced. A bit of this, a bit of that. But in this church, when we know the history, we will not be shaken.
Amen. Hallelujah.
>> Praise the Lord. On page 21, as I conclude, on page 21, our father says, "God raised one young Ezekiel, but there are going to be many true disciples."
>> You didn't hear me? God raised one young Ezekiel, but there are going to be many true disciples. But in order for this statement to become true in order for this statement to become life, >> we need to be grounded in our church.
>> We need to be grounded in our church.
Read the books written by our father.
When you read it, you you tell the story more often. When you tell the story more often, you're able to defend the legacy because you know it in and out.
Now the world that we are living in, they have erected statues of famous leaders such as Nelson Mandela, such as David Livingston, the Statue of Liberty.
The list goes on and on. These statues serve as a reminder of the past because of the impact these leaders have on the on the globe. And many people are paying money world all over to go and visit these statues. We too must etch the history of our church within our lives within our hearts of how the ministry started where God has taken it and where God is taking it. We're taking it to young Ezekiel and young. We want to rise and become the keepers of the memory of God. We want to rise and become the keepers of the memory of God. We want to be able to tell the story where it started, where it began, how it began, and where it is going.
>> Hallelujah.
>> Because one day, we are not remaining the same. We are not staying in the same place. Today, 20, double it up. In another 20 years time, someone is going to say to you, "What does this mean?
How will you respond when you're not acquainted with your history?" We don't want to be found silent. We don't want to be found without an answer. We must have a story to tell.
>> Amen.
>> As perpetuators of the legacy, if we fail to preserve what God has done, we are at risk of being a generation and in fact raising generations that come after us that will see these stones, that will see his books on the Eg.
You and I should desire to be deeply grounded and rooted in our history.
>> Church history goes beyond knowing names. It goes beyond memorizing the days. It goes beyond the events of the church because at the center of this church, we talk about nothing but Jesus Christ. We have Jesus Christ the author and the finish of our faith. Papa always saying, "Follow me as I follow Christ."
Matthew 16:18 says, "I will build my church."
>> Hallelujah.
>> And the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
>> History will spot your healing.
>> Through history, you will be delivered.
>> Through history, you will be destroy destroyed. Through history, you will find your miracle. That same history that we're talking about, it is here tonight. I'm talking to you, young Ezekiel. I'm talking to you, young. 51.
The same history that was that we are reading about, the same history that you are talking about, the same God who started the ministry with Ezekiel, he is here tonight. He is here tonight according to your hunger. According to your desire, according to your hunger, according to your desire, he's here.
He's here. Jesus is here. The finish of our faith. The same God who was in 1960 is the same God who is in 2026. He will be the same God in years to come. He is here tonight. You want to open your mouth. You want to talk to God the Father. You want to tell him what you desire. You want to tell him what you desire. You want to tell him what you desire. You want to walk above the world. You want to be a true disciple.
You want to imitate him as he imitated Jesus. Let's go before the throne of God.
The God of my father. The God of my Ezel. The God of Ezekiel. We are here.
We are here. We are here. We are here.
I want to pray with somebody this evening who say I want to jump into the spirit of this church. I want to jump into the spirit that is in this church.
If you're here, step forward. If you're here, step forward. Don't think twice.
It's not about your friends. It's not about your neighbor. It's about you and your God. You want to be deeply rooted in the God of this church. You want to be deeply rooted in the God of Ezekiel.
The God whom we serve. The God who we follow is here this evening.
This evening in the name of Jesus. In the name of Jesus.
In the name of Jesus it break it in the name of Jesus. Fire the fire of God. The fire of the people of God.
The fire.
The fire.
The fire Fire fire.
Heat.
Heat.
Take it.
The father Heat. Heat.
In the name of Jesus.
Heat.
Heat.
Heat.

We thank you, Holy Spirit. Thank you, Lord, for speaking to us tonight. Thank you, Father God, for teaching us. In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray.
Hallelujah.
>> We want to thank the Lord so much. Let's give a clap offering to the Lord.
>> You have to know the history of your church.
>> Don't be left behind.
This is not a session to miss.
>> Tomorrow will be gathered here again.
>> H this is anniversary.
>> I believe you agree with me that we had a powerful session tonight.
>> Come tomorrow. This is just the beginning.
>> You ain't see nothing yet.
>> Come again tomorrow.
