Trump issues tariff threats to China over Iran; seeks ceasefire ‘extension’ | Janta Ka Reporter

[00:00:00]The US administration is imploding over the Iran conflict and their anxiety is for everyone to see. You only had to watch tonight's press briefing by the White House press secretary Caroline Levit and Trump's Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent to understand the sense of consternation affecting the administration. While Caroline Levit confirmed reports of her boss sending the Pakistani delegation to Iran to request Thran to agree for talks, Bessen said that he was trying to find out from Gulf countries if members of the IRGC had deposited their money in their banks so that American thugs could confiscate their money. But he didn't stop here. He went on to warn China for allowing its banks to be used by Iran to process the money earned from the sale of oil. He said the US will impose secondary tariffs on China if it didn't stop allowing its banks to be used by the Iranians. Let's watch his extraordinary claims here.

[00:01:04]>> Uh Iran is the or used to be the largest state sponsor of terrorism. uh China was purchasing more than 90% of their oil.

[00:01:13]Uh which was about 8% of China's energy needs. Uh we believe this blockade in the straits. Uh there will be a pause of Chinese buying, but I will tell you that two Chinese banks received letters from the US Treasury. I'm not going to identify the banks, but we told them that if we can prove that there is Iranian money flowing through your accounts, then we are willing to put on secondary sanctions.

[00:01:47]>> Are you considering any more um sanctions relief, Mr. Secretary, for countries that are suffering right now in order to get more oil to your allies?

[00:01:56]>> No. Uh, we will not be renewing the general license on Russian oil and we will not be renewing the general license on Iranian oil because again that that was oil that was on the water prior to March 11.

[00:02:11]Yesterday we announced operation economic fury and we uh for over a year we have had maximum pressure on on the Iranians both on blocking payments into uh the Iranian state and going after the accounts of the IRGC. Uh, one of the what may prove to be fatal mistakes that the Iranians made was bombing their GCC neighbors and who are now willing to be much more transparent in terms of the funds uh or do a deeper dive in investigating the funds that are held within their banking systems. So uh we have uh pushed out to them the request that we want to freeze more funds of the leadership uh of the IRGC and any members of Iranian leadership. The other thing that we have done is we have told company we have told countries the that if you are buying Iranian oil that if Iranian money is sitting in your banks we are now willing to apply secondary sanctions which is a very stern measure and the Iranians should know that this is going to be the financial equivalent of what we saw in the kinetic activities.

[00:03:26]This bessent chap today lived up to his Walter Mitti image as he continued to build castles in the air just as he was doing in this year's World Economic Forum by hoping against hope for the end of the Islamic Republic of Iran through currency manipulation. But when the US and Israeli terrorists launched their illegal military aggression against Iran on 28th of February and the Islamic Republic announced their chokeold of the state of Hormuz, this bessent chap had gone on record to announce the temporary lifting of the American sanction on Iranian oil. Just see how off he is from the domestic reality. I mean he I'm talking about the American domestic reality. He struggled to answer a question on the misery faced by millions of Americans following the rise in oil prices all because of the criminality or criminal stupidity of his deranged and depraved boss. The question was posed by a representative from Fox News which has historically been a known cheerleader of Trump. Even by Bessent's own lofty predictions, Americans will have to continue to suffer for at least next 6 months. That is even if the state of Hormuz becomes free for everyone to use from tomorrow. That's not going to happen.

[00:04:50]>> It doesn't sound like we're going to have $3 a gallon gas by summertime, which we had initially been told by the trans by the uh energy secretary. He now says uh that it would be very aggressive if we're going to get to the $3 a gallon gas by the summer. So, when are we really going to get $3 a gallon gas?

[00:05:11]>> Well, I think that's going to be the uh up to how how the negotiations go.

[00:05:17]President Trump said this morning that he thinks we're nearing the end. Uh the US kept their side on the ceasefire. We've stopped firing. The straits of our mouth have not been completely reopened. Uh so we will see and I'm optimistic uh that during the summer we will see gas with a three in front of it sooner rather than later. I have it's bank week here in DC.

[00:05:44]So I've been meeting with a lot of my Middle Eastern counterparts, the finance ministers, and they all say that once the streets are open, they can start pumping again within one week. So, not by summer, like Memorial Day, but maybe by Labor Day.

[00:05:59]>> Uh, again, I I'm optimistic that sometime between June 20th and September 20th that we can have $3 gas again.

[00:06:08]>> What more evidence do Americans need to truly understand the criminality of this deranged occupant of the White House?

[00:06:15]Such is the predicament of this Israeli lab dog that he has now made peace with his own fate. Watch his interview on Fox News here. He's already started to find justifications of his defeat in this year's midterm polls. That is 7 months before the elections results are to be known by ordinary public, by you and I.

I ask people that are deep into the psychological world. I said, "Why is it that a voter votes for the opposite party?" Even when you have a good president, I think I had the greatest year, the greatest opening year. I've read the greatest. Look, I ended eight wars. A ninth is coming, but I ended eight wars. Nobody's ever ended one war. Who's ended one? Nobody. I ended eight. We have the biggest tax cuts ever. We have the biggest regulation cuts ever. The greatest economy ever, pretty much, including the fact that I took a detour into Iran in order to stop something that would have could have destroyed the world, right?

[00:07:43]Um, but even when you have a great president, they tend to lose the midterms.

[00:07:49]>> No wonder he's desperate to find an offramp on Iran. Today's highlevel Pakistani delegation's visit to Iran has to be seen in this context. In fact, several media reports claim that Trump desperately wants to extend the current twoe ceasefire with Iran. While Caroline Leit made light of that claim, her subsequent answer almost gave it away.

[00:08:13]She also had plenty of praise for Pakistan and its role as the mediator.

[00:08:18]>> What's the status of extending the Iran ceasefire Caroline?

[00:08:22]>> Yes. So I saw some reporting again bad reporting this morning that we had formally requested an extension of the ceasefire. That is not true at this moment. Uh we've remained very much engaged uh in these negotiation in these talks. you heard from the vice president directly and the president this week um that these conversations are productive and ongoing. Uh and that's where we are right now. I've also seen some reporting about the potentiality for in-person discussions. Again, um those discussions are being had, but nothing is official until you hear it from us here at the White House. But, uh we feel good about the prospects of a deal. The president mentioned that in his interview yesterday. Uh and it's obviously in the best interest of Iran uh to meet the president's demands. I think he's made his red lines in these negotiations very clear um to the other side and so we are continuing to see how these conversations go. The same I I will just want to make one point that's important to the president. Uh the Pakistanis have been incredible mediators throughout this process and we really appreciate their friendship and their efforts uh to bring this deal to a close. So they are the only mediator in this negotiate negotiation. While there have been many countries around the world who want to offer their help, uh the president feels it's important to continue to streamline this communication through the Pakistanis. And so that's what continues to take place.

[00:09:35]>> Meanwhile, Trump continues to become a butt of jokes globally. One social media user, Harry Sison, observed Trump's social media activities for 24 hours to conclude that this Israeli slave wasn't sleeping these days. Perhaps due to the hammering that he has received from Iran. Sis concluded that Trump was not well.

He did a timeline of all the social media activity of Trump over the course of a night. Not a daytime, over the night. Okay, here we go. First of all, 9:49 p.m. he posts the famous picture of him as Jesus, which he now says is him as a doctor. Okay? 9:50, so that's a minute after Jesus, he posts a picture of the ark de Trump, as it's now known. This is this 700 ft thing that's going to be a sort of Washington version of the Arct Triumph. There you go. 10:10 p.m. He posts a meme. 10:32 a news clip.

[00:10:44]10:53 a news clip. 12:43 a.m. Most Americans are asleep now. He announces the blockade of Hormuz. Okay. 2:35 a.m.

[00:10:54]He's maybe just had a little doze or he's had a hamburger or something. 2:35 a.m. he posts an article about Joe Biden. 2:37 he points an article on Swallwell, this guy in California who's pulling out of the race of allegations of sexual offenses. same minute 237 he reposts again the article about Biden the same article 238 he posts an article on his ballroom 410 he posts an article about Iran and honestly Harry Sison he said this himself he is not sleeping he is pretending to be Jesus he is posting all night he is not well and actually Hillary Clinton Nancy Pelosi others are out there on the back of his recent behavior saying this guy is seriously not well.

[00:11:44]>> Even in the UK, an otherwise very close ally of the US, politicians today referred to Trump as a mafia boss who was running a protection racket. Watch the question posed by Libam leader Ed Devi and the answer by UK Prime Minister Kama. President Trump has threatened to rip up his trade deal with the UK as punishment for us not joining his idiotic war in Iran. Surely the prime minister can't send our king to meet a man who treats our country like a mafia boss running a protection racket.

[00:12:20]>> A lot of pressure has been applied to me to take a different course and that pressure included what happened last night. I'm not going to change my mind.

[00:12:29]Meanwhile, the UAE has decided to reopen schools for students to attend in person from next Monday, which is 28th of April.

[00:12:39]This announcement followed a rare highlevel phone call between the Iranian parliament speaker Muhammad Beriv and the UAE VP Vice President Sheh Mansour bin Zad bin Sultan al- Nhan. A lot will depend on how Iran responds to the American request for more talks that Pakistan field marshal Aim Moner conveyed today. If Iran feels that the American blockade of the state of Hormos is actually hurting its economic interest, then we could see the return of conflict in no time as this would be another existential crisis for the Iranians who would not waste time in imposing a blockade of the Red Sea. Iran could also use sophisticated anti-ship missiles to target American warships in the Persian Gulf. and we could be talking about another round of brutal war.
