Emotional regulation involves recognizing that intense reactions in professional settings often stem from childhood experiences of feeling unsupported, and by identifying these patterns, individuals can develop self-awareness to manage their emotional responses more effectively.

Unlocking Emotional Regulation_ From Meltdown to MasteryAjouté :
different like the first time you realized that reaction you had at work wasn't actually about work that it came from somewhere much older in you right some so what did that moment cost you and what did it give you >> now at the time I viewed it as negative it's very possible that the person was just asking a question but it the way that I received it was um the person wanting to um restructure and put my position back kind of back on the shelf where it was. I was really upset and uh I literally walked out. I walked out of the organization literally kicking and screaming like screaming at the top of my lungs. I had absolutely no emotional regulation. Uh there were things that were that were bottling up and the fuse just kind of popped. Uh, and so what I got from that after going to a therapy session was what did where did that come from?
Well, the therapist, you know, after a couple sessions told me, Tina, you know where this is coming from? It's, you know, remember when you were a kid, you know, some things happened to you and you felt like you were not supported.
>> So, think about every single instance where you did not feel like you were supported. How strong was your reaction?
Is there a pattern there? Abso freakingutely there's a pattern there.
Every time I feel like I am not supported given everything that I do, given that I um that I overd deliver and underpromise and everything that I do, I was really upset and I flipped my top.
>> Wow.
>> But now I know when it's coming.
>> Yeah.
>> I you know I get the inkling. you know, you notice the patterns of behavior and and and you recognize relationships of proximity and all of these other things now. Um, and so emotional regulation is very important.
>> This is a this is really the catalyst for why I I do what I do today.
