Amateur hockey leagues often feature players with diverse backgrounds, including former professional athletes, creating highly competitive environments where skill levels vary significantly; this diversity can make amateur games more challenging and intense, as demonstrated when a former AHL player competed in a men's league playoff game, showcasing how professional-level skills can elevate amateur competition.

Playing Against A Former AHL PLAYER In Men’s LeagueAdded:
Today I'm going to be playing against a former AHL player in men's league hockey.
Now this guy is absolutely nasty. Best player in the league by far. Now I'm not going to say who it is for privacy reasons, but let's go take a look at his elite prospects. All right, so we got his elite prospects pulled up and uh pretty stacked elite prospects. NCAA Marramac College D1 captain. This is where his AHL career began. So, a couple years in the A, uh, dropped down to the ECHL where he was cooking. 42 points in 49 games. How you doing? You know, one more season in the A. Do people call it the A? Whatever. Yeah. So, uh, pretty insane. And now he's ripping men's league. Like they say, all roads lead to beer league. It was also a playoff game, so super intense. If we lose, our season's over. I hope you guys enjoy the video. Let's go. You see my stick over here?
>> I have.
>> Okay, cool. You know what I'm saying?
Like we could have called 50 on either.
>> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You know what I'm saying? So we were bad purposely for both teams, you know.
>> Yeah. Just kind of letting us quiet.
>> Yeah. No, for sure.
>> But tonight I just >> I feel like typically in playoffs that's when you guys let us play more.
>> Commissioner's here, bro.
>> He's like watching like a hawk up there.
Dude, I think the uh AHL kid is here.
>> He is 19.
>> They're missing all their D3 players.
Um, >> white helmet D1.
>> All right. Well, then you got something like >> I mean, you got the white gloves, Kovac.
>> Oh, almost a Gino off the bat, dude.
Oh, here he is. Here's the AHL kid. Oh my god.
Burn him. Wheels. Wheels.
>> Yeah. Nice.
Um, here I'll take center. Is that cool?
Here we go. Good D.
>> Nice play. Good play. WHEEL. KOVAC. GO.
UH-OH.
What the [ __ ] Heat. Heat.
Good back check, Kovac. Look at the wheels on this guy.
>> Send him. Go, go, go, Duffy. Dude, what a beast. The clap bomb off the rush.
One on you. Good play. Hey, good play.
Real quick, today's video is sponsored by NHL Sense Arena. NHL Sense Arena is one of my favorite off ice training tools. And now that we're in the summer, that means not as much ice. You know, anyone can stick handle in their driveway, but how do you get those game situation reps? How do you increase and work on your reaction time, your decisions in game?
>> Purple at the point off the boards. That was insane.
>> That's where NHL Sense Arena comes in.
There are so many drills and these are game situation style drills. This is going to sharpen your mind and help you when it comes to reaction time and the most important, making smart decisions.
Bro, I've been playing pretty good recently, but I still struggle with making bad decisions. Like, oh my god, who am I passing to, bro? And this is where NHL Sense Arena really excels. I'm literally practicing an over- the-sh shoulder drill where I'm checking my shoulder, seeing where my teammates are, and then quickly passing the puck. And it's super fun, too, bro. I mean, but you can literally be chilling in your room working on game situation drills.
And don't even get me started on Dangle Pro. Like I said, stick handling a green biscuit is one of my favorite things to do. And this makes it 10 times more fun.
I'm dodging things, keeping my head up, trying to break the high score, stick handling through virtual objects. It's literally one of the most fun things I've ever done. And that is why I continue to work with NHL Sensorina cuz I'm using it myself and you guys can too. NHL Sensorina link in the description.
We got to pick him up on the back.
>> There you go. Time.
>> Middle. Middle. Nice play.
>> Come on, Jeffrey.
>> Oh, what is that?
>> Flash on his head.
>> Holy crap. I can >> see it from over here.
>> Good play, Kovac. Nice job.
[ __ ] me. Oh, my bad.
Ah, my bad.
All right, guys.
WOO!
[ __ ] gold. Nice job.
Unreal.
>> Let's go. Let's go, Jeff. Nice job. Nice job. High school.
>> Good job, fellas.
>> Hey, one one.
Thank you. Thanks, fellas.
Come on, Jeffrey.
>> Oh, good play.
>> Crash the net. On net on net.
>> Ah.
>> Oh, my English teacher in sixth grade was like, "You going on a shift, man?"
>> Really?
>> Oh, that's what I'm talking about.
Like Jackie tore his MCL like me.
>> There you go.
>> Go in.
>> Nice ice, bud. That was unreal.
>> Hey, Chip. Chip. Chip.
Ah, [ __ ] me. Suck. Let's go.
Come on.
You [ __ ] sick broke.
That's true. This [ __ ] >> whatever is a P88.
>> Wait, where is it? In the locker room.
So, my stick broke and I didn't bring it back up. And the only stick that fit me was my buddy's Reebok O stick.
Oh yeah.
Oh [ __ ] >> How you like it?
>> I love it.
>> There's like no grip on it though.
>> No, I think that worn off.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah. Yeah. Last period of the season, fellas. Let's go. 30 seconds of power play time, boys.
>> Let's go.
Ah [ __ ] there he is.
All roads lead toing beer league.
She's in the snap.
>> Yeah. Right.
A >> come on.
>> It's not the refs, bro. I mean, >> no, I know, but like you could make a call or two, right?
>> At the beginning of the game, he was like, "I'm calling everything tonight."
>> Really?
>> Yeah. He's like, "Last week, I didn't call anything. I let you guys play.
Tonight, I'm calling everything." I was like, "All right, >> just kidding.
Um, it's been Yeah, >> it's been all right.
>> We lost to the other two or three teams.
Like, >> I know we're going.
>> I am. I am.
>> This [ __ ] is cool, but like >> it's it's just like, give us some other like the same three teams every week.
It's like, come on, bro.
>> Where else do we play?
>> I don't know.
>> This is the kid that was chirping me last time. Number five.
>> Me?
>> No, me.
in like the friendliest game of the year. He's like still chirping. Here we go, bud.
>> What happened?
>> Ah, [ __ ] >> My uh dad super.
>> Yeah. Yeah. My stick broke and my buddy had I forgot my backup.
>> That's unbelievable.
>> I love >> I like what you do, too. It's good stuff.
>> Thank you, bro.
>> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. He was like, "Yeah, I know." And like I saw him in your video.
Um, but he said it was like 20 years ago at this point, you know.
>> Yeah. Yeah. Oh [ __ ] I'm on the face.
>> I'm sure if I saw him, I'd know him.
>> Yeah. He's a good kid. He plays a lot of roller.
>> Oh, I used to play roller.
>> Yeah. I just started playing, dude. It's so fun, bro. It's so If you're interested in playing, let me know, dude. I'm >> You don't have any roller balls, guys?
>> Yeah.
Oh, god damn it, dude. I suck balls.
[ __ ] me. That was my bad, dude.
Yo, take the face off, Duffy. All right.
That was my best play of the night right there, fellas.
He looks like one of the Hansen brothers.
>> Good job, fellas.
Oh, >> stoned by the stand up goalie.
>> Good season, fellas. Yo, good game, bro.
Good game. Good game, fellas.
>> Good game. Good game. Good game. Hey, good game, fellas. Good game, guys. Good game. Good game, guys. Good game, fellas. Good game. Good game. Good game.
>> All right, fellas. That's it for the video. Really hope you enjoyed it. Now, to be honest, I had one of the worst games I've had all season. And I don't know what it was, but the game just felt fast. And like watching the footage back, it looked like a chill, slow men's league game. So, I think I'm just speeding up [ __ ] in my head and kind of getting in my own way. Um, I need to pass the puck more. I mean, there was a few rushes. I feel like I'm going to get a shitload of comments that are like, "Bro, pass the puck. I got to I got to move the puck more. I got to play simpler. I don't got to like dangle the defenseman, you know? I can just curl back, make a pass, and just play a simpler game." cuz uh this was just really tough. Overall, the Fighting Crows season has ended. Our next ice season begins in a couple months, like end of summer. So, summer is going to be like a roller hockey summer. We got Fighting Crows first ever roller team starting up soon. That's going to be insane. Now, for last week's giveaway, I said I was giving away one of the new Fighting Crows hats. All you had to do is comment on my last video, and I have found a winner. Now, this comment is from Jonah Brownell, and it was just really funny. I don't really have anything funny to say at 1:35 a.m., but my mom took my phone, so I found an old Chromebook and watched your video. It was a tough loss, but I love seeing new Tony Sauce videos. Also, good luck with Jerkmate Finals. Bang. Let's go, Jonah Brownell. Make sure to hit me up on Instagram. Shoot me a DM. Now, if you didn't win, I'm sorry, but you can still get this hat at ton sauce.com. I mean, this thing is unreal. That's it for the video. Make sure to subscribe and I'll see y'all in the next one.
