Weather forecasting involves analyzing atmospheric conditions to predict temperature trends and precipitation patterns over time. Meteorologists use satellite and radar imagery to track cloud formations and moisture levels, identifying when conditions will support showers or thunderstorms. Temperature forecasts are based on seasonal patterns and atmospheric pressure systems, with warmer temperatures expected as the week progresses and humidity increases, potentially fueling storm development. Forecasters communicate these predictions by breaking down conditions hour by hour and day by day, helping viewers prepare for changing weather conditions.

First Alert Weather: Ideal conditions to begin the new work week本站添加:
Time now for a check on our weather.
Meteorologist Vanessa Murdock is here now with our first alert forecast. You tell me it's pretty hard to forecast meteor strikes, right?
>> Absolutely. Much simpler to forecast the weather. That's why we're so good at it.
Cuz it's not that hard.
>> you.
>> Let's go ahead and talk about your first alert forecast. First and foremost, your headlines. What can you anticipate through the next seven? Spotty shower overnight, possible, not a guarantee.
Seasonably warm through Wednesday with highs in the 70s. Then we're going to crank up the heat even more, so and it's going to get steamy. So, highs will be in the 80s and even low 90s as you make our way toward the weekend. In addition, thunderstorms are anticipated Saturday and Sunday. Those steamy conditions will help to fuel them. As we give you a live look outside tonight, in the city skies are mainly clear. It is a beautiful night for a first alert flyby from the Chevy Chopper. Temperatures are mild tonight compared to last night, much warmer. We're looking at 60 right now in Massapequa and Norwalk as well. It's 58 in Montauk. We have 69° in Harlem, 57 in Liberty, and 58 in Blairstown. As far as what's happening above, I mentioned the possibility of showers and yes, there certainly is that chance tonight. As we look at the first alert satellite and radar picture, what you'll notice the clouds are thickening from essentially north to south. You'll also notice some shower activity, especially across Dutchess County. A lot of this action is struggling to reach the surface because the air happens to be pretty dry, but there will be moments where it does get uh saturated enough to get some showers reaching the surface. So, for the next few hours, there's a chance for showers.
After that, it's essentially a a dry forecast for several days. Here's that front sinking to the south. Tomorrow, low pressure is out to sea once more and we'll be enjoying sunshine. So, hour by hour from your first alert forecast, watching that line of showers make its way to the south and fall apart as it does so. 6:00 a.m. tomorrow morning, still a few clouds across the region, but then we're going to look at blue skies for a while. Afternoon returns a couple more clouds to the sky overhead.
Tuesday, pristine start to your day, then by afternoon a return to some ample cloud cover. Maybe a stray shower Tuesday, and Wednesday is another gorgeous day. All the while temperatures will be topping out in the 70s, which is precisely seasonable. Tonight, it's mild comparatively speaking to last night. 59 where we bottom out in the park, 55 for Bridgeport, 46 in Monticello, 56 overnight in Belmar. Tomorrow, beautiful. Mid-70s for many. In the city, 74, 70 for Monticello, cooler east and northeast in the 60s, but you get the point. It's beautiful. Your First Alert 7-day forecast, Tuesday 75, Wednesday 79. It is nothing but bright skies Thursday 84, then we're cranking up the heat and humidity to round out the work week and roll into next week as we hit the 90-degree mark on Saturday with storms likely. Back to you now, Alan.
>> weekend ahead, Vanessa. Thank you.
