Engine power output is fundamentally limited by the weakest component in the system, not just by the engine's theoretical capability; even with significant modifications like turbocharging, power gains are constrained by sensors, fuel delivery systems, and other supporting components that must be upgraded proportionally to achieve further performance improvements.

We hit the limit of the Honda Civic Si...for nowAdded:
Little little mini pull, but that's how she sounds, man. As long as I got grip, she moves. I'm going to go back home and swap out to a different stand. It's bugging me how much it's moving. That early looks better on my end. At least I hope it does. Sorry.
Just trying another POV just so I can see if I like it or not. But regardless, the tune's finally done. I have everything that I possibly could want to do at the moment. Right now, I'll do a little one right here for you guys. Second gear. Let's see if I hook.
Damn.
I only said hope I hook because lately when I've been doing pulls, my car has just been spinning so much. I need new tires. I'm going to get the same tires again. These tires have done me so well, it's been nothing but greatness with them. And I think these are the same ones that Emanuel uses on his like 500 horsepower Civic. So, the fact that I'm using them on these, like they grip, dude. And they're not that they're not that expensive. I think it's like after the rebate, you're looking at like 900 bucks, give or take. I'm trying to see if I can do one from first gear.
I really feel like I can do it, but to do that, I need to make a Uturn.
Definitely not from a dig. I don't trust myself doing poles from a dig right away. I had a couple people ask me, "Hey, what kind of motor mount do you have stock?" I had one on my eighth gen.
It was a little too rough for daily driving, and it was just the rear motor mount. Emanuel was talking about just upgrading to the Taip rear motor mount, and that would definitely help with a wheel hop. When I doed my car the first time with the big turbo at Bruno's, when I put in ethanol, I'm going to assume it was reading it wrong because by the time I was driving home, the car went from E30 to E25. All right, enough talking.
Yeah.
Let's try one more time.
Both windows down.
Nope. Someone's crossing the street, brother.
I hesitated because I saw a guy crossing the street or jaywalking. So, I'm like, m, do I really want to? No. Do need to go get some gas. So, we might as well go to the gas station. Oh, okay. So, gas station right now because the gas prices are up.
I'm kind of glad I'm putting E40 in the car because from empty once my light turns on, I put in like 4 and 1/2 gallons of ethanol of E85 and then probably like 5 to 5 1/2 gallons of 91. It definitely brought my bill at the pump down, you know. So, at like $6 over $6 here, that sucks.
Low fuel. There it is.
Ooh, that was a nice backfire. I don't know if you guys can hear it sometimes.
My car actually backfires sometimes. I doubt that it actually throws a flame, which would be nice, but high flow cat, that's probably not going to do it with that. But it just not like a burble tune, but it just backfires. Like it just pop, dude. It's nice. I like it.
That's one thing I'll say about my car is I I really like the tone that it's how it sounds from the outside. I remember when I was at the first dyno session with Bruno, hearing my car from the outside at wide openen throttle was like really nice cuz I'm always in the cabin, you know, or hearing it on camera. It It just doesn't give it justice of how it really sounds in person.
So, right now it's reading E42. I normally stick to E40, the big dog from the Bay Area. Try it from a different from a slightly different angle. The camera turned off on its own because it was running a little too hot, which I should probably should have seen that coming. Any of my future cars, any of my future Hond's definitely going to be going to Ferable for it. I really like how it's fabication is very fast and clear. And I like that I was able to ask him questions before I even or during the tune cuz I I had a lot of questions. And I'm sorry, John. I I know I had a lot of questions when I was asking you, man, but it's just how I am and I'm very paranoid. Third gear. Let's see how it sounds.
Felt slower than it was because it was such a lag from down from like 3,000 RPM, 2,000 RPMs.
But when it's at 55, definitely pulls.
All right, picking it up another day because my GoPro died in between those days. Uh, I was able to get in touch with Bruno and we put the car on the dyno. So, I'm just going to put everything into one video that way you guys can see it. And yeah, the numbers of the dyno. Um, I'm going to post it right here on the screen. So, this is the graph that we got. It was 316 wheel horsepower.
Yeah, I'm not gonna lie. I thought it was going to be a little bit more like 330, maybe 340. This feels better and faster than my last setup when I was on my other tune.
But I mean, realistically, five more ethanol, that's all that's really going to do. Now, the awesome thing about this setup that I have right now is it's not really at its full potential yet, if that makes sense. So, I was talking to John and yeah, it's great. I'm running E40 now. Like, technically, you were able to do that with the stock injectors. A couple people have been doing that. But because now that I have bigger injectors, yeah, I can get more fuel delivered to the car. But there's no point in doing that if my math sensor cannot keep up with the turbo or I guess what to say reading it properly. So, I'm maxed out at 28 PSI.
If I want to push the car even further, I need to upgrade my math sensors and get a retune to get the calibration updated.
That's what it takes. And I would definitely be making more power. How much more PSI would I be pushing? I really don't know.
But third gear pulls like a mofo. Dude, that doesn't feel like 316, dog. Like that feels that feels more than what my last setup was.
I don't know. It feels great. But like looking at the graph again, like dude, this graph is reading very very well.
The power curve is where it's at all the way to freaking red line, dude. Like the tune is great.
But yeah, man. If I want to push more power, I can. I don't know if I'm going to do that with this turbo, though. I think I'm going to wait until I upgrade even further. If I upgrade even further, feel like I'm just like testing this engine very very very well, you know, like it's still the 1.5 L, man. They're not made to make this much power. Like 200 stock from factory. Now, like at the crank, I'm definitely pushing like 340 at the crank. That's that's a huge significant difference. I do have a video of the dino pull, but I'll probably end up putting that on a short. I did it on map one, two, and three. And it definitely was an improvement because on on map one, I think I at like 19 PSI, I did like 275 wheel. And then on map 2, I did 300 give or take. And then on map 3, which is like three, four more PSI, I did 316. So that's that's it right there, man. like think this is this is the limit that I can get with the car, at least with the current setup that I have right now. And again, you know, everyone talks about like numbers and stuff. I generally thought it was going to be a little bit more, but it it doesn't feel like it, man. This car feels way better than what it says on paper. Man, I have no complaints. So, upgrade the turbo or just keep it as is.
I don't know, man. We'll we'll have to wait and see. But that's it. You know, sorry it took so long to get this video out, guys. I genuinely thought I already posted and it wasn't until I decided just to randomly go on YouTube and then somebody commented on my like one of my random videos asking when I was going to post a dino sheets and then that just literally reminded me that I never posted a video. So, my bad. That's that's my fault. I genuinely thought I posted something and I just got caught up with life and work. So, yeah. Um, sorry it took so long again, but uh, this is what it is. And my two cents is if you're thinking about upgrading to the 2.0 Accord injectors, if you're not going to push the car, don't bother. Stay with your stock injectors. I only upgraded because I got a really good deal and I was going to replace my injectors anyways. So now I have the ability to push the car further because I have the injectors when I upgrade my turbo or when I upgrade my MAF sensor. So I really like the current setup that's on the car right now. And I don't know, let me know what you guys think. I I think I want to focus on a couple more cosmetic things on the car and then go back into the motor considering again L15. I'm like really I don't know, man. I don't know if I'm lucky or if I have a unicorn, man. But I'm surprised nothing has happened to the car yet. Knock on wood.
But that's it. I will see you guys on another one. You guys have a good one.
Peace.
