Dutch peacekeepers were stationed there to keep the peace, but when Bosnian Serb forces rolled in, those peacekeepers were ordered to stand down. What happened next was methodical, systematic, industrial. Families were torn apart at gunpoint. Mothers watched their sons loaded onto buses. Husbands were separated from wives with a simple promise, "You'll see them soon." It was a lie. For 3 days, Dutch soldiers heard constant [music] gunshots echoing from the nearby woods. They knew what was happening. They could do nothing to stop it. Mass graves were dug, then the bodies were moved, then moved again. A massive shell game to hide the evidence.
