The Odyssey Continues To Receive MASSIVE Backlash!Añadido:
All right, you guys. The fans are voicing their opinion about this Odyssey movie. And check this out. I said this maybe last week, maybe like 10 or 11 days ago when I made like my Who's Worst video, Black Snape or Black Helen of Troy. In that video, I showed you guys the like ratio to the most recent Odyssey trailer. It had 308,000 likes to only 42,000 dislikes, right? But check out that same trailer now, but only 10 days later. The trailer has 323,000 likes to 188,000 dislikes.
That's like a 15,000 like increase compared to a 140,000 dislike increase.
That is absolutely insane, you guys.
People are upset with this movie. And we all know why. The dialogue seems like it's about to be terrible.
>> They're pining for a daddy. Daddy.
Daddy. You didn't even know.
>> My dad is coming home. My dad. My dad.
My dad.
>> Daddy, chill.
>> What the hell is even that?
>> The costumes look inacronistic, but most importantly, the casting has everyone all hot and bothered. And the worst part is is that this trailer really doesn't even showcase like the casting that everyone is so upset about. Like, I promise you, Christopher Nolan, scratch.
Wait, wait, wait. Scratch. I beg you, Christopher Nolan, release a trailer that showcases freaking Zenaia as Athena, Travis Scott in this movie, Elliot Page as Achilles or whoever Elliot Pageige is playing, and Lupita as Helen of Troy. That trailer may have more dislikes than likes, especially at this point in the climate online. Please release that trailer, Christopher Nolan.
It would give my channel so much to talk about, but I think he's not doing that strategically, but maybe he will.
There's still some time between now and when the movie comes out. But yeah, if he releases a trailer showing like all the terrible casting, yeah, I guarantee people are going to flood that with dislikes. I mean, the people are really letting you hear what they really feel about the Odyssey casting. They don't even have Greeks in this movie. People are just so sick of like this woke Hollywood agenda and all this propaganda. And that's exactly what this feels like. Lea as Helen of Troy just feels like virtue signaling at its finest. It feels like modern Hollywood, modern Holly weird that no one cares about. People are sick of it. I thought this movie was a shoein to make a billion dollars and now I think the best it can make is 800 million if that. I think the range is anywhere between 600 million to 800 million now because of this janky casting. I mean Lepita just shouldn't be Helen of Troy. It shouldn't be a black actress. Period. Point blank.
Honestly, for all my nerds out there, a good Helen of Troy casting would have been someone of the same caliber as like Deanna Troy in the Star Trek the Next Generation show. This actress is actually Greek. And I'm sure there are plenty of young, attractive Greek women in Greece right now. Helen of Troy should be a Greek or at the very least someone with fair skin who can hold a tan or something. I don't know. But a black Helen with Troy just feels like virtue signaling and people are not here for that. Travis Scott feels like he's here to appeal to Gen Z or Jin Alpha.
And Elliot Page just screams of woke Hollywood modern propaganda. And I've said this before, either one of two things are true. Either Elliot Pageige is playing Achilles or Elliot Page is not playing Achilles. And they do not want to clarify that because to clarify that will be acknowledging the fan backlash backlash. Backlash backlash.
And acknowledging the fan backlash would undermine the virtue signaling. I don't get why modern Hollywood is all about subverting expectations. I mean, that's why you have girl boss stuff now. That's why you have more masculine franchises going more feminine. And that's why you have dramatic race swap castings of major characters. If you do it with minor characters, no one really cares.
But a character like Snape, a character like Helen of Troy are just two small examples of modern woke Hollywood. I'm sorry. It's all about subverting expectations and I do not know why they are continuing to do it. They're just losing money. No one expected The Odyssey to have anything other than like pretty much a 95 to 99% like white cast or fair skin cast, whatever you want to call it. No one would have battened an eye if the casting looked very normal, right? Because it's what you expect.
It's a movie about Greek mythology.
You're not really expecting Travis Scott to be in the movie. It's absolutely ridiculous. I don't see why they're doing it. It's like, why does The Little Mermaid have to be black when redhead people are an endangered species, you know? It's okay if you have a movie where like the cast is like 95 to 99% black. It's okay if you have a movie where the cast is 95 to 99% Asian, like in Crazy Rich Asians. And it's okay to have a cast that's 95 to 99% white, like in the Northman movie. It's all about putting you in that time period, making it feel realistic and believable. And it's about escapism. You know, like the Hollywood landscape has dramatically changed in like the last 10 years. But the problem is that like the consciousness of the people hasn't dramatically changed in 10 years. Like what people want to see and what they expect to see hasn't dramatically changed in 10 years. But Hollywood has dramatically changed in the last 10 years. It really makes no sense. And I've said this before. If Christopher Nolan were to make an Odyssey movie like 10 years ago or 15 years ago, I don't think he would cast a black Helen of Troy. I'm sorry. I do not think he would cast a black Helen of Troy. And that to me is telling me that people really don't want to cast this way. They're just doing it for Oscars or they're doing it to bend the knee to the modern Hollywood cabal. But all that's happening is that Hollywood is losing money. People are getting fired by the thousands and they're losing relevancy.
And people wonder why everyone is looking to anime now. People are sick of having their expectations subverted.
People are sick of being preached at.
People are sick of these Hollywood elites in their ivory towers looking down on you and telling you how to think and how to behave when half of their industry is on the Epstein list. I just don't get it. People don't want that.
They just want their good movies back and they want their franchises to be untainted and not bastardized, right?
Hey man, Greek people are really upset at this movie. I had a lot of Greek people in my comment section voicing their anger at this movie. I heard the Greek city times sent a letter to Christopher Nolan pretty much saying, "Hey, we are still here. We are not like some ancient people. Why are you not casting Greek people? Is basically what the letter was about, right? It's like, yes, the Odyssey is a story for the world, but it's a story about like the Greek culture, right? It's very like Mediterranean specific. It should reflect that, not like how the world looks according to modern Hollywood. And isn't it crazy that nine times out of 10 is just going to be a black person that they're race who swapping? Why are they always using our people? Like if you had to answer a multiple choice question to save your life or to save the whole planet and the question was which race do you think Hollywood would swap with this iconic like white or fairkinned character and the options were black, Hispanic, Native American or like Eastern Asian. What would you circle to save your life to save the whole planet?
You would circle black. I'm almost positive everyone knows that. You do not see a lot of Asian people getting race swapped. You do not see a lot of Middle Eastern people. You do not see a lot of like Native Americans really. As far as I can see, it's mostly black people. And why is that? I don't know. Let me know in the comments. I just don't get it.
They claim everything is under this guise of DEI, but really you're not seeing too much representation. Having a lot of Greek people in this Odyssey movie would have been a fantastic idea, but no, diversity in Hollywood really just means black people, I think. And you can miss me with that whole it's a mythological story. It's fiction It's like if you make a movie about Garfield, but instead of having like this fat orange cat, you have this like skinny black cat. It's not Garfield anymore. But you guys hear what I'm saying? Hollywood just needs to stop subverting expectations. That's why this trailer is like the most disliked Christopher Nolan trailer in his whole career. People are upset with modern Hollywood. You can't get around it. In Hollywood, if you're listening, don't let these keyboard warriors online convince you that there's a real audience for this stuff. Just because someone posts a comment and it gets a bunch of likes and other people commenting on it doesn't mean that like that is the population that's really going to move the needle in terms of like boxed office dollars. Do not let this young generation who really does not spend money like that change the way you do business. I mean, they're going to figure it out one way or another.
They're probably already figuring it out. I just wonder if they actually care. But yeah, you guys, all these dislikes are coming from the dialogue, the costumes, the casting, and the fact that this is based off that feminist version of the Odyssey written by Emily Wilson. There's no way to get around that and you guys know it's true. But if I've said anything that you guys agreed with or that you like, subscribe to the channel.
